The Roving Home
The Roving Home is the new online version our store in Rockport, Massachusetts called Sycamore Hollow. Much has changed in the last few years, both on a personal level two kids and counting - and in the store. Moving from Main Street to a virtual marketplace has been a learning experience, to say the least. Twitter, Facebook, blogging...the tools of social media have evolved to an overwhelming degree, and skills learned in the non-virtual world don’t always translate to the online one. It’s hard for a regular Jane to keep up, especially one fixated with the aesthetics of the past. The latest technology is not exactly a priority for someone who still uses a typewriter on occasion. But change can be exciting and here’s the latest in The Roving Home’s technological evolution: a monthly digital catalog of sorts. Each issue will feature a few of our latest pieces, showcasing the vintage look at home, where we entertain, eat, work and play... Happy 2012! Sarah Kelly therovinghome@gmail.com
