White Plains Hospital receives ‘A’ patient safety grade

White Plains Hospital has once again received an “A” from healthcare watchdog the Leapfrog Group in its Spring 2023 Hospital Safety Grades for its continued excellence in providing safe and expert care to its patients. The Hospital is one of only 17 hospitals in New York state to receive the highest possible rating.

White Plains Hospital has received an “A” each period since the beginning of 2019, making it one of only four hospitals in New York to earn this top grade nine consecutive times.

“Consistently receiving an ‘A’ from the Leapfrog Group stands as proof that we continue to be assessed as one of the safest hospitals in the country. At White Plains Hospital, we have an unparalleled commitment to quality, which is also demonstrated by our recent 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,” said Dr. Rafael E. Torres, Chief Quality Officer at White Plains Hospital.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The Leapfrog Group assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
