Hang a bed sheet and shine a torch roughly 1 metre behind it. You can then cellotape your paper set to the back of the sheet and move the pirates to create amazing shadows!

Drawing pirates technique

You may want to change the shape and size of the figure and sword.You could cut out smaller details such as the eyes and mouth to give your pirates more personality.

On a piece of black card, draw a simple stick man with legs bent. Draw an arm holding a sword too as shown!

Ask an adult to help you cut round the outline of the body and the separate arm.

Use a drawing pin to attach the sword arm at the shoulder.
