Home sale breaks price record in Upper Allen The Sentinel UPPER ALLEN TWP. — RSR Realtors said the sale of a six-bedroom home overlooking the Yellow Breeches Creek broke the home price record for a residential property in the Mechanicsburg Area School District. RSR Realtors sold the home in the 400 block of McCormick Road in Upper Allen Township for $1.3 million, which is the highest amount seen to date in the school district, which covers Upper Allen, Shiremanstown and Mechanicsburg. The realtor said Upper Allen has some of the area’s most exclusive real estate, and RSR has represented the sellers of three of the township’s four highestpriced homes. Among those homes is one in the first block of Emlyn Lane that

has an asking price of $1.29 million, one in the 1000 block of Brookwood Drive at $784,900, one in the 2800 block of Myrtle Drive at $749,000 and another home in the first block of Emlyn Lane listed at $699,900. “Many say this is a challenging market for the sale of higher priced homes, but RSR Realtors has shown our agents have the expertise to properly market these highly desirable residences,” said Garrett Rothman, RSR’s broker of record who represented the sale of the $1.3 million transaction. “It comes down to really knowing the property well and being able to give accurate, reliable information.” While some buyers looking in the upper price range may consider building new, Rothman said many existing homes are on more spacious

lots in established, quiet communities. The $1.3 million home is set back on a five-acre lot and has a separate garage complete with an upstairs apartment, a pool, koi pond and a view overlooking the creek. “Especially for those people looking to put down roots in the area, I like to say these houses are a great investment in lifestyle as well as a great investment,” Rothman said. “After 15 or 20 years, if they want to sell they’ll be able to get nice profit because of our area’s stability. In addition to the most recent transaction, in the past two years RSR handled the sale of a home in the 400 block of Park Circle for $865,000 and another home in the 2800 block of Myrtle Drive for $810,000.
