Welcome to Guyer Cattle Company ... Friends and cattlemen: There has been quite a little bit of stir over the word “dispersal” in the same sentence as Guyer Cattle Co. So I thought I would just write a note to give you some more details as to what is happening here. There is only so much time any one man has, and mine is maxed out. I have chosen to cut back the time I am spending on the cattle production side of things. Yes, you might say, “If things are going well, then just hire someone else.” And you’re right. But that is sometimes easier said than done. I take great pride in where we (GCC) are today, and that didn't happen by someone else doing the work though I have had much help along the way. I have felt this coming for some time now, and that time is here. You, as my customers, can benefit by doing the production yourself and then letting us help you in the marketing just as if the cattle were our own. We will be depending on you as the customers to provide us with the same stock we are selling now because the Chosen Few, plus all the other avenues we have now for marketing livestock, will continue on year after year. Whether or not dispersal is the right word I don't know; but if selling all the physical cattle is a dispersal, then it's the right word. GCC will continue on, but just as we go to work for you as the “owner” of these great cattle. With all this said, the true reason is family!!! I started off by saying that time is something I am running out of; and when you run out of time, family is what suffers. Now don't read into that any more than just what it says-- because I have found my soul mate, however our kids are growing up fast as many of you can identify with. I just recently lost my Grandma Guyer at 88. She worked hard right up to her dying day, and that’s what I wish for -- work hard, live a full life, and have family there to look over me on my death bed and say “Job well done.” This change in course is the only way I have found that I can continue all that I have going on in my life. GCC will continue on as well as my love for the educational side of our youth through ShowRite Feeds, Stock Show U, or just helping anyone with the will to learn. I will spend the time that is needed for the Natural Solutions for Livestock company that I started a few years ago. It is doing well and leading me down different avenues within the livestock industry. And lastly, this change creates enough time for me to spend with my family. Ashtin and Nalaney have taken a great interest in livestock, and I wish them the same great experiences that I and all the other kids have had within this business. I truly feel that the kids of today could be doing a lot worse things than showing livestock. So please join me, and we both can benefit from this change in the path I have chosen to take. Thank you for your interest and support, Dave Guyer P.S. Now let’s go to work!!

This one-ofa-kind feature among features has been a highlight of everyone of our Chosen Few Sales since we sold half of her in our very first sale to Jones Show Cattle, OH, and Moore Land & Livestock, IL. She has become the standard of class and production in our outfit since her first progeny arrived and she has been a joy to work. Several daughters are featured in this offering and a full sister is a featured open heifer. Demand for embryos and progeny from Cinderella has been almost too much to handle as her calves have brought up to $54,000 and her embryos always demand in excess of $1,000 each. She is a wonderful creature with so much to offer to breeders of all kinds. We hate to see her go but we cannot wait to see what you do with her. Enjoy the ride! Evan Matlock, IN, had purchased this cow for $30,000 as a show heifer and it took a substantial investment from us and our partners but we got it done. It has been a wise choice because this cow has generated great results and she is just as impressive now as the day we bought her. To date, she has produced well in excess of $125,000 for us and the Matlock’s not including Cinderella or her impact on our program. The strength of this great foundation cow can be seen not only in Lot 1 but also in Lots 106 and 326 and the numerous grand-progeny she has selling here. What a breeding piece! Happy New Year and Welcome to The Chosen Few! I surely hope you can join us for the 2012 Guyer Cattle Dispersal and The Chosen Few Sale. It is surely one of the most significant events that I have been a part of and I cannot wait to see the events and important transactions that take place on January 7th. Some of the most unique and successful cattle - and their descendants - that I have been around will go up for auction and I am certain that this will be an event we will look back on for years to come as buyers achieve great success with their purchases made in Robinson. Dave Guyer knows great show cattle, always has. He can select and develop them as well as anyone that ever grabbed a scotch comb. Annually, he combs the countryside to find and bring the best to Guyer Cattle Company - many from the genetics that he has developed for his herd and those of his customers. He and his crew have done a fantastic job of preparing their herd and the sale cattle for this event and there is so much quality to go around. From the bred heifers to the show prospects to the embryo lots and beyond, this is a whale of an offering. And, the donors? Forget about it. Just own as many of them as you can. Dave has actually been preparing for this event for some time even though he didn’t know it. As the demands for his time increased he moved large portions of his work elsewhere, from heifer development to recipient cows. For this reason, the mature breeding herd is perhaps not as numerous as you might have guessed. Nearly every older cow was moved and/or used as a recipient and then moved, and as a result only the best remain.
Rest assured that the best - and all - of the remaining cows sell here along with every bred heifer on the books. The embryos and semen selling here are the best in inventory - some odds and ends remain but everything was made available to me for this offering. If you have a question about something you think might be missing be sure to ask. It’s all here, even some unborn calves that will sell in our very exciting “Pick of the Crop” lots. Come early to see them all because quality abounds and these cattle can help many. Every trip to Guyer Cattle Company is exciting if you like great cattle. A trip this January will be especially exciting as the Guyer crew prepares for a big change and turns loose all of their best. The cattle business is booming and it’s time you strengthened your position for the profitable times ahead with a load of the great females we’ll sell in The Chosen Few. Please feel free to contact me if I may be of assistance to you prior to the auction. I look forward to seeing you on the seats or live on RFD-TV. We wish you the best - in cattle and everything else - as we all explore what 2012 has in store. Selling his DNA cell line plus over 5600 straws of semen The Dog is dead but he continues to influence the profitability of club calf programs across the country with his proven ability to sire top selling and winning cattle. This great bull ranks with the most-accomplished of Heat Wave sons with a string of high sellers and big winners like the Reserve Grand Champion Steer of the 2010 Wisconsin State Fair and the Reserve Grand Steer of the Aksarben that same summer. Winners at Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Tulsa State Fairs made him a go-to guy for success and the demand for his semen has remained steady for several years. Over the last 36 months Q-Dog has sold approximately 8,000 straws of semen and, with today’s demand for bulls that will downsize while adding guts and power, the future looks very bright for The Dog to have many more days of profit. PICK OF THE CROPS! Choose the Best from Our Best!
Terms of the Pick of the ET Crops: Every ET calf born at each location will be available for selection expected calves are listed here. Selections must be made by July 4, 2012 and calves or pairs may be picked up at that time. Buyers will pay 25% of hammer price sale day with the balance due upon selection and pickup. Guyer Cattle Company will provide registration assistance where needed.
As time became an issue in recent months we outsourced all of our recipient cows so all of our 2012 embryo calves will be born off site. We implanted more than 250 embryos at various locations and it was not possible to bring the cows carrying embryo calves back to offer them in this auction; in some cases we do not own the cows. So, in the effort to make as much of our best available to you in this event, we are offering the pick of the embryo calves at each of the easily-accessible locations that will have a volume of our genetics this spring.
