WGAS Motorsports brings back the monster trucks with quad wars

Bishop, CA—The monster trucks and quad wars returned to the Tri-County Fair, Bishop, CA, over Mother’s Day weekend, and the fairgrounds also hosted a barbecue and salsa cook-off, and the return of the popular Choo Choo Swapmeet. WGAS Motorsports presented the extreme sports event, with monster truck shows, ATV / Quad races, and micro-midget / “Jr. Outlaw Sprints.” WGAS entertained the eastern Sierra visitors and residents last summer at the Tri-County Fairgrounds. The grand stands were full, and the crowds enjoyed watching the custom monster trucks slide around the arena, and take some big tricks off the dirt features. And, some of those monster trucks launched some pretty high aerials, with the cheers from the fans. Corbin Shockey, age 15, drove the High Risk mini-monster truck (a third-scale model of a monster) during the two shows. Shockey got cheers from the stands when he performed some “stoppies,” which is where the truck comes over a dirt berm, and stops on its front wheels...like a handstand for trucks. .

The Extinguisher monster truck, driven by Jake Blackwell, gave rides around the arena, and this was a very popular attraction during the Monster Truck show weekend. Tony Canedo, driving Play N For Keeps, launched the monster truck over dirt berms, and performed some of the highest flying tricks of the monster truck show.

Tyler Holcomb, “Quad Jesus,” from Bishop, CA, rode his ATV quad to a first place finish during the Quad Wars between the California and Oregon teams, and the fans in the stands loved it. Holcomb performed last summer when the Monster Truck Jam event was at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.
