This year the staff of The Signpost brought home (9) 1st place honors along with numerous other category awards and the General Excellence Award. Judges selected better Newspaper Contest winners from the Nevada Press Association. UPA represents Utah’s Newspapers; On December 17, 1893, a small group of Utah’s publishers met to become known as the Utah Press Association. Since that day, the Association has continually represented Utah’s newspapers and has helped people gain print media.
The Signpost - GENERAL EXCELLENCE AWARD This award is given to the newspaper that demonstrates consistent excellence in all areas of newspaper production. Outstanding content and news coverage, writing quality, layout, and typography, photography and headlines are all considered with this award.
