WSU is home to the nation’s largest NATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE LITERATURE CONFERENCE
Robert Pinsky, a former U.S. poet laureate, recently selected Chard’s book Land of Fire for the Dorset Prize. “Weber brought in Robert Pinsky as the keynote speaker at NULC [National Undergraduate Literature Conference] in 2004,” Chard says. “I had no way of knowing that 12 years later he would select my own book for a prize.”

Studying a foreign language provides a
competitive edge in any career choice. The Department of Foreign Languages promotes global awareness and inter-cultural understanding by providing instruction in various languages and cultures. The Department of Visual Art & Design provides students with access to the Arts Creative Technology lab, one of the state’s most advanced digital media spaces. Students can expect access to accomplished teachers who are also working artists. Students leave with a broadbased education in art, design and creative technology.
Weber State University has the largest contemporary student art gallery in the state.
