So, how do newbie writers or bloggers break through and attract the large followings they so eagerly desire? The answer is simple – STYLE. Writing is an art. Understanding the ‘3 Be’s’ will help you to release that budding author inside you and get bucket loads of followers. Be YOU!! Blogging is often looked at as the epitome of vanity. But this is the ‘BIG secret’ behind all blogs – Personality. There are thousands upon thousands of sites out there posting advice about a variety of subjects but we choose to revisit certain blogs. It is not because the information is only available there. It is because we trust, but ultimately, like the writer. The charm is only one dimension of your writing. Don’t be afraid to show off your intelligence and sense of humour. Be funny. Be brash. Be brave. Most importantly, be yourself!! You need to form the connections with each reader, one at a time, to build that audience you desire. Be Unconventional What you need to remember is it is more than likely that what you are writing about has probably been written about before, if not 10’s of times before. Be Edgy Few people possess the talent and sheer courage to write with an edge. More often or not the fear of being seen as arrogant or over-aggressive causes us to hold back. Don’t hold back. You need to remember - The only reaction worse than a ‘bad’ reaction is ‘No’ reaction. Ok, people will think that you upset some people but far more will remember you.
Writing with passion, pride and wit will have your readers gasping for more and will eagerly await your next posts. So embrace the fire in your belly and turn it into words on your site. If you do, they will leap off the page and in the reader’s memory.
