A M ESSAGE FROM TH E SG D C HAI R Welcome to the 2024 Society of Garden Designers Awards Ceremony, the only awards dedicated to celebrating excellence in garden and landscape design. We are very excited to be sharing with you our members projects and congratulations to all our winners. If you are reading this then you will understand the difficulties faced by our industry in recent years and how tough it can be to overcome them. Being a member of the society is being part of a supportive community, we are all in this together and will continue to produce incredible gardens. More than ever the 2024 Awards challenge our preconceptions of what makes a beautiful garden; indeed, we are seeing aesthetics and function changing quicker than ever and the 2024 awards, as expected, sets the bar very high. Sites are becoming more demanding, regulations seemingly limitless, clients’ budgets are being squeezed without the shortening of requirements and the environments we are working in are now visibly changing. The gardens we are seeing tonight are a testament to the perseverance and dedication of our members. Gardens are only achievable by the teams behind them, and like the awards they would not be possible without the support and generosity of our industry sponsors. Our collaboration with clients, landscape contractors, suppliers, plant growers, artisans and other professionals create the gardens we celebrate tonight. Thank you to our sponsors and our Media Partner, The English Garden who proudly share our inspiring gardens. Our supporting Charity Partner, Greenfingers, support children in hospices by providing inspiring gardens to be enjoyed by the children and their families.

For over ten years our events team at AMS and our PR Hind + Osen have produced an awards scheme to be proud of. Special thanks to Lynne Marcus, Chair of Awards and our team of judges who include acclaimed garden designers and the wider industry. Best wishes

We are proud to be supporting Greenfingers Charity at the SGD Awards Ceremony 2024 Greenfingers is a national charity dedicated to supporting lifeGarden designed by Matthew Wilson MSGD limited children and their families who spend time in hospices around the UK and is committed to creating inspiring, well-designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with family and friends. To date, the charity has created almost 70 gardens in children’s hospices and has a further waiting list of hospices that need their help now. Greenfingers is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, can offer children and families under considerable stress a vital opportunity to embrace the benefits of being in the fresh air and engaging with the natural environment. Whilst many people may take for granted the simple pleasure of being able to enjoy a garden, for these children and families more so than ever the chance to spend time outdoors and away from the bedside is precious. To find out more about the charity, please visit https://www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk or scan the QR code.
