Hi Friends,

V

ictor’s

message to you

I bring my thankful heart to God for His amazing grace in the special seed movement. I am grateful to you as a reader and to those that continue to support the movement financially and in kind, may God’s grace increase in your lives. We have started working on our TV program “Caterpillar to butterfly – Your big story”. Our vision for the program is to see a changed world through great stories of Salvation prepared by God. This is a talk show that practically demonstrates that Jesus Christ is the way to joyful change of our hearts leading to a meaningful, successful, purpose-driven life, full of happiness. You can use your big story of Salvation to change other people’s life in light of eternal life. Inspired by my personal story of salvation, the show will make you discover that your past pain and dark moments are not in vain but are the foundation of your message to the world. My own story of salvation has impacted many lives, leading people to receive Christ, to the point where they freely share their hearts and eventually receive salvation too.

My story reminds me of Genesis 2:25 “Adam and Eve were naked but not ashamed”. When you are now truly saved, your past no longer shames you because you have been reconciled to God through His Son Jesus Christ. Your sinless nature has been restored, and now have a true spiritual identity of Christ. There is no longer condemnation in your heart because you are now in Christ (Romans 8:1). That is why I freely share my story and continue to encourage you to do the same. Our testimony of salvation simple means you are a satisfied customer of the gospel of Christ. Emily Sande says “You have a song to change the nations, but you are biting your tongue”. Through the Caterpillar to Butterfly TV program, we are saying the devil cannot bite your tongue anymore. Come out and let the world know your big story. It is through your story that many will also receive Christ as their only Saviour. Many people are suffering from the inside. They are wandering in the wilderness without any purpose of life. They have so much pain and they have no clue how to come out. When different people from different countries, hear my story of salvation and how God changed my filthy and ugly painful past to a happy purposeful life, they are touched and are able to see their true image as reflected by the Bible in Mark 7:21-23. They repent, and open their hearts, becoming responsive to change and transformation. Such hearts do receive Christ. Pain is the fuel of passion and is also the path leading to discovery of purpose-driven life. It energizes us with an intensity to change that we don’t normally possess. C.S. Lewis said, “Pain is God’s megaphone.” It’s God’s way of arousing us from spiritual lethargy. Your problems are not punishment; they are wake up calls from a loving God. God is not mad at you; He’s mad about you. The world is waiting for your story too, go out and roar like a lion with your story of salvation and someone’s life shall indeed be changed. Through receiving salvation my purpose in life was validated. As your relationship with God gets established your purpose shall be validated. Living a purpose-driven life has brought so much joy and value to my life and it will do the same for you. My message to you is: receive salvation and your purpose shall be validated. The only the way that leads to light is the way of Jesus Christ, other ways lead to darkness (John 14:6) It is my prayer that you will receive the Word in this magazine into your heart by faith and your heart can change to the heart of Christ. Regards,

FEATURED Quote “Whenever you do what God wired you to do, you get good at it, you become a blessing to humanity. Salvation being truly born again, receiving forgiveness of sin prepared by God is the foundation and path to discovery and validation of God’s purpose for your life. It’s high time we stop being liabilities in God’s balance sheet, but assets for His purpose. You were created by God’s purpose for His purpose.” – Victor Nkomo

God’s Promise

Discover yourself:

Your Identity is your Secret In November 2015 I was in Nairobi, while there my cellphone got broken and I went to Samsung to try and see if it could be fixed but the cost of fixing was too high. I would be travelling back to South Africa in a week, hence would better be off to claim another cellphone from the insurance company when I arrived in South Africa, but what did that mean? I had no WhatsApp for more than a week! I was not able to access my emails outside the office and hotel Interestingly, I was not worried at all, I was at peace like any other day. Why? WhatsApp or a cellphone does not define me, but if it was my old self, before I received Christ, I would have gone out of my way just to be back online. Friends, if you build your identity on anything that can be taken away from you, you are going to be insecure, frustrated, sad and miserable for the rest of your life. Who are you? Are you your body? Or your mind? Or are you something higher, or spirit? Do you know who you are or do you merely think you know? Have you ever bothered to think deeply about these questions? Does it really matter to you? Today, we live in a materialistic world, materialistic society and many people spend their lives decorating, maintaining and pampering their body. We are a lost society with a fake identity and this has brought misery to many. Isaiah 41:29 describes the situation of the world and many people now: “Behold, all of them are false; their works are worthless, their molten images are wind and emptiness “. Two words that describe our society today is SPIRITUAL DEATH. In the journey of discovering who you are, one must understand the aim and objective of why Jesus Christ started the church? What was His purpose to start the church? Matthew 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it”. Sadly, the present human society, especially the religious world is being misled by leaders who are blind, for they do not know Christ’s objective. They are also caught up in the materialism of this world. The objective is reestablishment of our lost relationship with God. This

is the missing point – “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.…” (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). The perfection of life is to realise one’s relationship with God. One important aspect of our life is to understand that not only human beings but all living entities are part and parcel of God: 1 Corinthians 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it”. The parts are meant for serving the total body, we are living entities but parts of God and we are dutybound to serve God: Ephesians 4:12 “To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”. Actually, our position is that we are always rendering service to someone either to our family, country or society. If we have no one to serve, we sometimes keep a pet cat or dog and render service to it. All these factors prove that we are constitutionally meant to render service, yet in spite of serving to the best of our ability, we are not satisfied, nor is the person to whom we are rendering that service satisfied.

If God is served correctly all other parts will be automatically satisfied. Friends, on the material platform everyone is frustrated. The reason for this is that the service rendered is not properly directed. For example, if we want to render service to a tree, we must water the roots. If we pour water on the leaves or branches there will be little benefit. If God is served correctly all other parts will be automatically satisfied. It is the duty of every human being to understand his constitutional position with God. If one is rightfully positioned with God his life becomes successful and happy. We can only be well positioned with God if we know who we are.

As a human being you are made up of the body, soul and spirit: “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and >>> page 4 The Special Seed for Life 3

>>> from page 3 soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Genesis 2:7 says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” ‘The dust of the ground’ refers to man’s body. “The breath of life” breathed into man’s nostrils is his spirit. “A living soul” is man’s soul. Hence, a complete man is composed of three parts: the spirit, the soul, and the body. According to the above verse, the soul came into being when the spirit was joined to the body. When the spirit entered the body, the soul was produced. The body was dead, but when it came into contact with the spirit of life, a third organic entity was produced — the soul. Without the spirit, the body is dead. Only through the spirit can one live. God’s breath of life is the source of man’s life. The Lord Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life” (John 6:63). According to the Bible, mankind is distinct from all the rest of creation, including the animals, in that he is made in the image of God and God is a Spirit: John 4:24 “God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” We can then conclude that the core of a human being that connects us to God is the spirit. This is where the Holy Spirit operates: 1 Corinthians 2:14 – “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” The body is just a container and many concentrate on this container, meaning no matter how beautiful the container can be, with all the materials of this world if our spirit is empty we will continue misaligned to God. It is this misalignment which is the source of our misery in life.

Our misalignment to God is a continued source of misery in our lives Friend, there is no ultimate benefit in making the material body comfortable at the expense of forgetting the prime necessity of life which is to regain our lost spiritual identity. Where was your spiritual identity lost? Genesis 2:17 “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die,” God meant spiritual death, separation from Him due to SIN. Indeed our ancestors Adam and Eve died spiritually. They were separated from God and that led to all of us to be born spiritually dead, separated from God, that’s why God’s plan of the church is to re-establish you back to God. Friends, the world or material universe is a region of darkness ruled by the material conception of the body and mind, source of lusts and

4

desires but beyond this region there is a spiritual realm where God by His Holy Spirit operates and in spiritual existence the Lord is never lost to us. A screw that is fastened to a machine is valuable because it is working with the whole machine. Real Madrid’s best soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo’s feet are worth millions of dollars as long as they are attached to his body and serving the body but if his feet are cut off from his body then what are they worth? Nothing. Similarly our relationship is that we are very small particles of God and we can only live a meaningful life when we are connected to Him otherwise we are worthless, we are cut off. To conclude, it is sin, inherited from Adam, that has led you to be connected with the material world and separated you from God. I have the good news for you today. God has prepared a reconciliation plan of SALVATION for you to be reconnected to Him – for resurrection from your spiritual death. He sent His begotten son to die for you and free you from the curse of the sin of Adam. It is your faith to believe that indeed God forgave all your sins and He will never remember your sins. [John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. Hebrews 10:10 – And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 2 Timothy 1:9 – He has saved us and called us to a holy life— not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time]. Loving friend, you have lived with a wrong identity for too long. Today, receive the new spiritual identity of Jesus Christ. You have been spiritually dead and when you receive this Word of forgiveness of sin into your heart by faith you are alive again: “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” (Luke 15:24) And all the dead situations in your life will receive life. When the dry bones in your life receive the Word of the Lord they shall surely receive life (Ezekiel 37). As soon as one embraces his new his identity, his relationship with God through Jesus Christ, then immediately he becomes happy. From here continue serving the Lord and giving glory to His Holy name. This is the only slavery assignment that brings so much joy and meaning to our lives. If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our “right mind”, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again” (2 Corinthians 5:13-15).

Roadmap

to discovering your Purpose

W

hat is your purpose? Why do you exist on this earth? If you have not asked yourself this question and if you happen not to have an answer, you are yet to know who you are. On a daily basis I meet many people for various reasons, fellowship, mentorship, counselling, business, or when I give talks or preaching, my introduction is always consistent it includes my purpose. I believe just telling people your name and surname is inadequate: “My name is Victor Nkomo. I am human being who preaches the gospel of Christ, the power of God to salvation leading people to a purpose driven life focused on eternal legacy”. After I introduce myself with my clear, concise purpose, I will then ask: “What is your purpose?” Many will respond with an ambiguous story, they will tell me about their educational background and their current positions at work, and at that point it becomes clear to me that this person is still in the wilderness. The Hebrew word for wilderness is “Midbar” meaning formlessness, confusion, unreality, emptiness. This is a state of your heart when you have no clue about your purpose, when you still live a purposeless life. This is substantiated by Genesis 1:2 “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. At this point you the person is still a wanderer, the curse of Adam is still upon him and for me it becomes a great opportunity to preach the gospel, salvation and the validation of God’s purpose to him.” It’s hard and difficult to move forward in life when you don’t know where you’re headed and why. Firstly, it is important to have the answer to the following questions: 1. Where did I come from? 2. Why am I in the wilderness with no clue of my purpose and destiny? 3. Why was I created and for what purpose? 4. What happens when I die? The first word that you must receive in your heart by faith is Colossians 1:16b “All things have been created through God and for God” you can translate this verse to“. I was created by God’s purpose for God’s purpose. Therefore it’s proper to say your purpose is in God’s plan. That means your starting point on the pursuit of your purpose must be God not you.

Friends, the biggest stumbling block of the revelation of your purpose in life is your heart of focusing on yourself. If the starting point is you, not God, surely the end is being a wanderer in the wilderness. It is not about you! If you closely look at the covenant of God with Abraham in Genesis 17. It was never about Abraham but it was about humanity. It was about many nations, about descendants of Abraham and the starting point was God. We can see eternal legacy in God’s purpose. In Abraham it ends joyfully in Revelation 7:9 – the great multitude in white robes: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands”. The true purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment. It goes beyond your husband, your wife and your kids. The standard of the world teaches you self-help but the bible equates this to foolishness: Luke 9:24 “Selfhelp is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self”. If Jesus Christ had focused on himself, you and I would not have been saved, but His sacrifice gave us life. What a blessing loving friends! The greatest blessing is for you to be a blessing to humanity. Many spend years in prestigious universities only to be wanderers. Education without God’s purpose is useless. I see many hosting graduation parties and my heart bleeds because many are celebrating their newly acquired passport to the wilderness. Numbers 32:15 – “For if you turn away from following Him, He will once more abandon them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all these people.” You are in the wilderness because your heart is separated from God. Yes you do go to church, you pray but your heart is not connected with the heart of God. From the beginning God’s plan for you was clear. He wants you to have joy, happiness, live a blessed life and to become more like Him. Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them, God and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill

>>> from page 5 the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves on the earth,” and in Genesis 1:26 God said, “Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness”. As we know, Adam and Eve fell to Satan’s temptations to eat the fruit and disobeyed God who had commanded them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What made Adam and Eve fall? Unlike Jesus Christ they focused on themselves, easily ignoring the word of God. When you focus on yourself you are prey to temptations. That’s why if you check people that fall to fraud, for example the famous 419 scams, they are people who focus on themselves, desperate to be better people with a good life. Such people believe in themselves more than they believe in God, and they remain separated from God, and such a heart blocks the discovery of God’s purpose. Life continues to be a struggle and filled with misery and sadness. The prodigal son in Luke 15 was another culprit and his life ended with pain and failure until God redeemed him. God had previously warned Adam in Genesis 2:17 that, the day they will eat, they will die not a physical death but spiritual death: “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die,” – meaning by disobedience to God’s word, they were separated from God’s presence physically and spiritually. They became mortal – subject to sin, disease, all types of suffering, and ultimately death. Through their fall we are all born with the inheritance of sin which is the source of our curse of being wanderers (Romans 5:12). Trust we are together up to this stage.

after Abraham slept with their maidservant Hagar. I consider this phase of Abraham’s life – wandering in wilderness without a purpose. Now in Genesis 17, the Lord appears to Abram when he was 99 years old and said, “I am the sovereign God. Walk before me and be blameless. Then I will confirm my covenant between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.” Here God’s rebuke appears to indicate that during these 13 years, Abram did not walk before God, and as a result, his life was full of blame. Also note that God re-introduces himself as “God almighty.” God puts a condition to Abram, saying walk before me blameless and only then He will “confirm” His covenant between Him and Abram. Here we see that the earlier covenant was not valid for those 13 years and God wants to reconfirm the same again. So God again renews His covenant with Abram. Note here that in Genesis 12:2 Bible speaks about only one great nation, whereas in Genesis 17:4-5 God talks about multitude of nations and importantly God changes the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah. So Abram (Noble Father) becomes Abraham (Father of many) and Sarai, (Princess) becomes Sarah (Mother of Nations). The question which arises is: What is the significance of name change in revelation of God’s purpose for your life? Friends, this is a life changing blueprint, a roadmap to a purpose driven life. It’s not about you!! “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).

Please read PART 2 for the conclusion.

Generate MORE MONEY from your Business!

Now, because you have been separated from God, the first step must then be you being reconciled back to God’s plan and the good news is that God has prepared a plan for you and that plan is SALVATION. Let’s go back to the covenant of God to Abraham, Strategy and Branding there is great revelation there about purpose: “Abram fell on his face, and God said to him, “But me, my Graphic Design & Print covenant is with you; you will be the ancestor of Online Ads & Social Media many nations. And because I have made you the ancestor of many nations, your name will no longer Web Design & Hosting be Abram but Abraham. I will make you very Brand Activations fertile. I will be your God and your descendants’ God after you. I will give you and your descendants the land in which you are immigrants, the whole land of Canaan, as an enduring possession. And I will be their God” (Genesis 17:2-8). e continue with our blueprint for the roadmap to discovering your purpose. God created every person with a purpose and when life is lived with that purpose it is valuable. This is achieved when we have a relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ. Life becomes meaningful and joyful but when we live outside God’s purpose we Friends, the giant step towards continue to wander in darkness, revelation of your purpose is suffering from guilt, pain, and fear. salvation. Since the starting point must be God who is holy, In PART 1 God’s purpose is you need also to be holy by revealed in Abraham’s life in being reconciled back to God Genesis 17. God changes through His son Jesus Christ, that’s Abram’s (Noble Father) name to why God calls Abraham to be Abraham (Father of many) and blameless. Change of name for Sarai (Princess) to Sarah (Mother of Abraham meant Abraham was Nations). What is the significance now a new creation with a new of name change in the revelation identity of God. 2 Corinthians of God’s purpose for your life? 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is Abram was the name he was given in Christ, the new creation has by his father Terah – it symbolized come: The old has gone, the new the identity of his father not of is here!” The reason why you are God and before God’s purpose still wandering in the wilderness not is revealed or fulfilled our identity knowing your purpose is because must change. We are all born you still have the corrupt seed of with the identity of sin from Adam Adam, – the seed of sin. You still – meaning we are born separated have your own deceitful heart and from God, therefore we are out your spirit is empty, you still depend of God’s purpose. Jesus Christ on your own personal GPS which calls us to his new identity: John is misaligned with the GPS of God. 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly That’s why no matter what you I tell you, no one can see the do, you cannot find fulfilment. You kingdom of God unless they are cannot discover your purpose: you born again.” When God changed have changed jobs, upgraded your Abram’s name to Abraham, he not skills, even changed your career only divorced him from his father’s but the emptiness does not go legacy but provided him his own away. God promises you a new great identity before God. His heart: Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give name was both a promise and a you a new heart and put a new blessing. navigator; the navigator first shows you your location after connecting with GPS; from then you can input your destination. Similarly, in our spiritual life instead of the many options we always try to explore, we need to know where we are according to point of view of God. From there it’s easy to learn the true spiritual life. Satan always makes us continually search God without first knowing clearly our true image. Mark 7:21-23 talks about our true image ”For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come — sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person”. This is our location even before trying to seek God we should clearly understand we are already defiled. We are defiled deep down in our hearts already from the day we were born. Our God who only looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7) can only see our defiled heart however much we try to involve ourselves with good works (Romans 10:1-4).This is a condition that we cannot change by our own efforts. Many men of faith like David were able to realize this hence could say in Psalm 40:12 “For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine

7

iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. ..” Psalm 51:5 – “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me”, Psalm 58:3 – “Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies” Unless this becomes clear in our hearts we will continue in a vicious cycle of making resolutions to be good and continually failing. If we don’t acknowledge the reality of our location, we will never discover our purpose, or get to our destination. We must acknowledge our true image before God – this is true repentance; instead of repenting from symptoms of sin – that leads to a life of darkness of repenting and sinning daily. Romans 7:14-18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not, For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do...” Apostle Paul was also able to acknowledge his real image ... his location in the GPS of God ... him who doesn’t have anything good in him. After locating your position on a map, it’s easy to make your way towards your desired destination. As humans, we need to acknowledge our status as sinners, then proceed to get to know the heart of God concerning this. Jeremiah 2:13 “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water”. According to the heart of God men have committed two evils, 1.They have forsaken God. 2. Have hewn their own cisterns that can hold no water. Human beings have a different focus when it comes to sin. Many focus on what they are

8

doing hence struggle to be good people.

“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”!

In order to be right with God the problem of sin must be resolved. God’s thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). What men try to solve is just the symptoms of the very sin God talks about ... Men have forsaken GOD from the time Adam forsook God and followed the heart of Satan: Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”. From then men died and as dead people we cannot do anything good no matter how much we try to. By trying to solve sin by ourselves it means we will be trying to ‘hew cisterns broken that can hold no water’. This is our purposeless life.

All your sins were transferred to Jesus Christ. You are now freed from sin. He has forgiven all your sins “once and for all”. He will never remember your lawless deeds and sins (Hebrews 10:1017), and if you receive these Words into your heart by faith, it is no longer you that lives but Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:20). At this point you have been reconciled to God, you are now a righteous person. Now, the discovery of your purpose becomes the responsibility of Jesus Christ, because He has taken over your life by His Holy Spirit that now dwells in you.

There are 2 things man cannot do: 1. Man can never do good but is always overcome by sin. 2. Man can never solve the problem of sin by himself or his efforts. Whomsoever discovers this truth has true repentance, - and gives up trying to be good through own efforts and rather learns from God. Satan always deceives men into “working” for salvation.

With this new relationship, His Holy Spirit will reveal and confirm God’s purpose in your life. You now have a direct line to God, when you pray. God will fulfil His promises aligned to His purpose for your life and as you walk in the Spirit, meaning you no longer live by your own standards but by the standard of God. You will witness “the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance” (Galatians 5:22–23).

In Romans 10:1-4 – the Jews had a zeal but lacked knowledge hence they laboured to establish their own righteousness instead of receiving righteousness from Jesus, prepared by God. The most important thing is to repent from this image caused by the original sin of Adam and the symptoms of sin will gradually disappear. You need the same heart as the prodigal son to realise that on your own you are doomed. When you repent and go back to the father as a defeated powerless person, true repentance takes place and from that point you are able to believe that Christ has freed you from sin: John 1:29 – “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,

Friends, this was my journey of discovering my purpose in life, I never pursued my purpose but my relationship with God, and Salvation gave birth to the beautiful purpose-driven life I now live. I urge you to get assurance of your salvation, have your relationship with God restored and God will reveal His great plans for your life. My slogan to anyone who is still in the dark with your purpose: RECEIVE SALVATION AND YOUR PURPOSE ON EARTH WILL BE VALIDATED! “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

the SECRET to the Promised Land T

he boat of human life is constructed in such a way that it must move toward a spiritual destination of eternity. When you fully comprehend that there is more to life than just “here and now”, and you realize that life is just preparation for eternity, you will begin to live differently. You will start living in light of eternity, and that will change how you handle relationships and circumstances. In Luke 10:25-27 we find Jesus being tested by a lawyer “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.” The question the lawyer asked implies a very deep meaning. This lawyer thought he had to do something to receive salvation and eternal life. Secondly, why does the bible use a lawyer? He was an expert of the law so he knew the laws of God perfectly and he lived trying hard to keep the law. Did he receive eternal life? Jesus answered two questions but the lawyer only asked one! The interesting question is the second one: “How do you read it?” Yes, you know the law but how do you read it? Many people who live spiritual lives, know what is written in the law but there is a problem in how they receive the law of God in the bible. Through the deception of Satan, they live trying to keep the law in its entirety by their efforts. James 2:10 says if you stumble on one you are as good as someone who did not keep the law – “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it”. There is another group however that tries to keep the law but are unable to do so and they quickly surrender saying “God I just can’t keep your laws, I have tried but I failed, God, please do it for me”. People read the law in these two ways.

Friends we are deceived by Satan , we think that if we make up our minds not to sin, that we will not sin, but the more determined we are not to sin, the more sins we commit! God was never deceived, He knew from the beginning that we are humans who can only sin. So, instead of telling us not to sin, He gave us the strength to overcome sin, so we won’t fall into sin. We need to receive the strength that comes from God for us to be freed from sin. We can never overcome sin by our own effort and determination. This was the reason Jesus asked the second question, “How do you read the law?” If the lawyer lived a true spiritual life his answer would have been “Lord I am not able to keep your law, I have given up, I surrender to you, please keep it for me.“ When we surrender like this, Jesus has compassion and He enters and works upon the heart of a person that has this heart of giving up in keeping the law by his effort and surrenders all to God. In other words the wisest person in boxing is the one who gets knocked down by his opponent as soon as the first round starts. It is better than getting beaten up and then getting knocked out after having had his nose broken, his forehead torn apart, his eyes blackened and after becoming all bloody. Of course, you should not actually do it like that in a real boxing match, but in the competition against God, that is the wisest way. God does not care for you until you pass out. Give up and surrender completely.

... to overcome sin is for you to lose to sin, that is how you defeat sin!

The Lawyer said: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” This is what you get if you condense the 10 Commandments, the first four commandments tell us to love the Lord, and from the fifth commandment, it tells us to love our neighbour. the SECRET to the Promised Land Part 1

“the wisest person in boxing is the one who gets knocked down by his opponent as soon as the first round starts...”

did Jesus reply? “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live?” Friends, you cannot keep the law by your effort. God gave us the law firstly to reveal sin in us – “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin” (Romans 3:20). Secondly, He gave us the law to bring us to Jesus Christ – “Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith” (Galatians 3:24). Trying to keep the law on your effort is a lost battle before you even start because of Romans 11:32 “For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone”. Friends, to overcome sin is for you to lose to sin, that is how you defeat sin! How? The Lord helps you when you confess that you can only sin, that you cannot overcome sin on your own. The Lord cannot help those trying desperately to defeat sin, you must be defeated by sin, that’s why “He who wins loses, and who loses wins, it is more blessed to give than to receive. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it” (Matthew 10:39). I hope you will receive this revelation in your heart, and by faith you will give up on yourself; on labouring to keep the law on your efforts. In PART 2, we will continue exploring The Secret to the Promised Land in Luke 10: 29-37, the man hit by robbers, the good Samaritan parable. The Heart Intelligence Corner

“When the heart changes, everything changes”

We live in a lost world with numerous problems. Many young men are trapped in drugs, school drop-outs ending in prison, teenage pregnancy to fatherless kids, corruption leading to highest levels of poverty, terrorism, and debt. The major source of our problem our lack of identity! For one to discover his identity he needs knowledge of the World of the Heart in contrast to academics taught at schools and universities. Our solutions lie in spiritual intelligence which cannot exist without knowledge of the world of the heart. Luke 15:11-32, the story of the Prodigal Son, is one of the parables Jesus used. A father had two sons. The younger son asks for his inheritance before the father dies, and the father agrees. The younger son takes his inheritance money and squanders it at a far-off country (the word “prodigal” means “wastefully extravagant”). He goes hungry during a famine, and becomes so destitute he eats the same food given to pigs, unclean animals in Jewish culture. He then returns home with the intention of repenting and begging his father to be one of his hired servants, expecting his relationship with his father to be irreparable. Regardless, the father sees him and immediately welcomes him back as his son and hosts a feast to celebrate his return, – killing a fattened calf usually reserved for special occasions. This story sketches out precisely how your heart flows from the beginning to the end. People, like the prodigal son, begin by over believing in themselves and exalting themselves. Most people do better than others once or twice. They do not remember the wrong they have done but the good that they have done they remember for a long time. When they make money or do something that others are unable to do, they feel proud of themselves in their hearts, - becoming joyful and proud. As these layers of this kind of heart pile up, the heart hardens, leading to the arrogant thought “I am doing well”. We identify 6 levels of the heart in this story and if we master these, we will be able to live a successful and happy life instead of success without joy. I used to live this kind of life, that’s why I associate so much with the 6 levels and I believe the secret of the world of heart must be revealed to every person today. When you think you are doing well, you become high-hearted leading to first disastrous level: 1. OVER TRUSTING IN YOURSELF (SELF EXALTATION), You over-trust yourself, are high-hearted, and believe you are always right and you do not listen to other people. This leads to the next level. 2. NEGLIGENT and SELF INDULGENT: the prodigal son wasted all the wealth received from his father. If your heart is humble then the harlot cannot take you, but

The Special Seed for Life

the arrogant heart Your key to failure and pain because the prodigal son believed in himself, he became negligent and self-indulgent. Arrogance breeds riotousness, we have seen this in many African countries ruled by arrogant leaders with hardened hearts. Negligence leads to: 3. FAILURE: the prodigal son loses all his money that is failure. What followed was pain. 4. PAIN: after you are ruined there comes pain. Have you ever seen a person whose house and car has been repossessed? This person used to spend money recklessly, but now he is broke, no money for school fees, his children, no food. In South Africa, Mandla Mthembu is a typical example. He received millions, got high-hearted, rented a penthouse for over R100 000, bought two Lamborghini cars on credit for himself and his new young wife Khanyi Mbau, and left his older wife but he woke up one day without a cent. Cars were repossessed, his relationship with Khanyi Mbau went sour, the man was ruined. Oscar Pretorius is another example, he did well in his career, became too arrogant, thought he was untouchable, was high-hearted. What followed was negligence, killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. When you do well it’s important to realize that you are still nothing. It is only the grace of God that has given you those wins, when you acknowledge that you are nothing, give all the credit to God. Your heart remains humble and you become successful and happy as opposed to successful but ending in jail for murder in the case of Oscar. My

prayer is this becomes a wakeup call for him to turnaround his life and receive Christ. In the international scene, Mike Tyson was on top of the world: Heavyweight champ, career earnings of about $400 million and all the adult toys anyone could want. But outrageous spending ($173,000 for a gold and diamond necklace, a pricey divorce, fancy cars and two Las Vegas mansions) and big tax bills (nearly $14 million owed in the U.S. and Britain) helped

lead Tyson to bankruptcy court. In Africa, the first sign of negligence in most men is leaving their wives and having a girlfriend (side-chick). In my past life I did experience this. Once you go through difficulty, the next level springs up: 5. WAKE UP CALL (REGRET): for many this is the turnaround time. While sleeping with the pigs, the prodigal son got to this level – after failure and so much pain, he said “If I keep this up, I’m going to starve to death! In my father’s house, even the hired servants have bread enough to spare and yet I perish with hunger, I should go back to my father’s house.” After the wakeup call the prodigal son returns to his father with a new heart crumbled and humble. This leads to level

The Special Seed for Life

6. BLESSINGS (SUCCESSFUL AND HAPPY): Like a river there is way the heart flows, from a high point to a low point. Blessings can only flow to a low humble heart, a high heart repels blessings. After Mike Tyson was ruined the wakeup call came, he is no longer high hearted like before, now you can see traces of humbleness, failure and pain is good, now Mike Tyson has gotten a measure of redemption, appearing in parts 1 and 2 of the hit comedy film, “The Hangover,” and being inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame this year. Same with Khanyi Mbau the wildness in her has disappeared, now she comes out as a young humble girl hardly in the media unlike before. All people go through these levels so when you look at a person’s life or heart, you can precisely see what level that person is at. Most people who do not have much experience, new graduates are mostly at level one, they over believe in themselves. I was there too when I graduated from university, I over-trusted myself, could not listen to anyone, got a job at one of the best banks, I was untouchable but I got ruined. I urge you to examine your life today, which level are you? May you receive this Word by faith. Write to us if you need heart intelligence help. Friends, you are armed with the knowledge of the world of heart today. I pray that you will break free from a heart of over-believing yourself to a humble heart that can lead you to Christ and believe in God instead of believing in yourself. Devotion: 5

Part 2

the SECRET to the Promised Land

I trust that PART 1 of this devotion spoke to your heart and gave you the foundation to the secret of a joyous spiritual life full of success and happiness. From the story of the lawyer testing Jesus in Luke 10:25-37, our conclusion was that we cannot keep the law of God on our own effort, but we need to surrender to the Lord to do it for us. A heart that says “Lord I have tried but I have failed, I give up and surrender it to you , please do it for me”, is the ideal heart that attracts the compassion of the Lord. We need to throw away all our good deeds and receive the righteousness of Jesus Christ instead. The lawyer knew the law did not understand it. The secret to the kingdom of God is to boast about our weaknesses: (2 Corinthians 12:9). Today as we continue let us dig for more hidden treasure in the precious Word of God. In Luke 10: 29-37, we see Jesus relating the story of the man hit by robbers or the good Samaritan after the lawyer had asked him “ But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbour?” In Luke 10:30 the bible says “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and left him half dead. A priest and a Levite passed by without helping the man who laid down in pain with wounds. Then a Samaritan passed by, he went over him to help, poured oil and wine upon his wounds put him on his own beast and took him to the inn, there he gave the innkeeper two pence”. Friends, every Word in the bible is written for a reason, God is a spirit and those that worship Him must do so in spirit (John 4:24), if we study the bible in flesh, we make the bible just another novel. The man was robbed while he was in between Jerusalem and Jericho. Why did Jesus use these two cities in this story? Jericho in Hebrew means perfume hence is used to represent what people of the world are pleased with. So people went to Jericho to enjoy things to do with the world and Jerusalem in Hebrew means a city of peace that’s where the temple was located hence people went there for religious events and you will remember that even Jesus would even guide them to know that religion was not the true spiritual life that there were supposed to live (Matthew 23). God hates religion. Someone may be thinking “I thought God invented religion!” Sorry, but God invented man and man invented religion. Christianity is not just another religion like Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc. Sadly, many who claim to be Christians practice Christianity as if it were a religion.

12

the man hit by robbers was therefore wondering between religion and the world. Many are like this, they have been in church since birth but they have never tasted true Christianity. That is why they have no rest yet they claim to be born again. Jesus says that man was the lawyer that tested him, it is many that are still suffering in religion today. The Good Samaritan represents Jesus Christ who approached him, poured oil and wine on his wounds and took him to the inn. At that point SALVATION was accomplished. The bible says the man was half dead, implying there was no action or thoughts from his side. Friends, all our thoughts and our heart must be cast away for our soul to be saved, then the Lord can bandage our wounds.”Lord I leave it on your hands, do whatever you want”. At that point Jesus makes perfect. Remember Jews looked upon the Samaritans like dogs, if the wounded man was alive and well he would have cursed the Samaritan, but at that point his pride was gone, he didn’t care who came to save him. This is the same heart the prodigal son had, woman caught in adultery, man with infirmity for 38 years, – this is the heart that receives forgiveness of sin with ease. A heart that does not labour to keep the law, a heart that is unable. When I was growing up, we use to play soccer on the streets, and every time I had a wound, my beautiful late mother would use methylated spirit as a disinfectant, Jesus used wine in this story, and after that my mum would apply Vaseline or oil to prevent germs from accessing the wound.

Note the sequence, you apply disinfectant first then oil. You are not supposed to apply oil first but Jesus applied the oil first, why? God’s thoughts are higher than ours, let’s look at the spiritual meaning of this. The oil in the bible represents the Holy Spirit and the wine represents Joy. Pouring oil and wine means that when we first receive salvation or forgiveness of sin, the Holy Spirit enters us and bring us joy, but people in the religion and the world desire joy first before the Holy Spirit. When they have temporary joy they think that they have received the Holy Spirit, also alcohol or wine is volatile, it quickly evaporates but oil does not evaporate because it is viscous. The Holy Spirit does not leave us but joy without Holy Spirit disappears quickly, that also explains why religious motivational preaching brings temporary joy but when Jesus Christ dwells in you by His Holy Spirit, you are guaranteed an eternal legacy filled with joy. Hebrews 10:10-17 points out that when we are saved automatically we receive the Holy Spirit. The Samaritan gave the inn-keeper 2 pence, one pence at that time was one full day’s wage and the cost of one day’s living. Therefore 2 pence represented 2 days and the Lord said one day represents 1000 years (2 Peter 3:8-9 – “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some To many, Christianity is nothing more than a set of rules and count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any rituals that a person has to observe in order to go to heaven to perish but for all to come to repentance”). This promises us after death. That is not true Christianity. True Christianity or that the Lord will return to us in approximately 2000 years (1 true spiritual life is not a religion; rather, it is having a right pence=1 day= 1000 years, 2days=1000 x 2=2000 years). This relationship with God by receiving Jesus Christ as your only is the Word of God. Friends, no matter how much I can reveal Saviour – Messiah, by grace through faith. Caterpillar to Butterfly — The Great Story

My Salvation Story No More Wandering, I Am At Home Now

Elizabeth Dile Marufu I grew up in a Christian family and my grandfather was a missionary. I was baptised before I even knew anything that was happening around me. I didn’t even see my baptism but I was told that you were baptised in Methodist church. From a tender age, I moved from one church to the other – looking for inner satisfaction. I don’t even know how many churches I have attended in my life until the day I met with the true gospel and received salvation. I didn’t know what I was looking for but there was a void in my heart, I thought maybe I could find it in one of the churches. I lived a dirty life yet I claimed to be a born-again Christian. I even attended those churches who worship under the trees, some did not even read the bible, they said the bible was stale news. Alter calls? I don’t even know how many times I stood up to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, but still that did not take away the burden of sin which was in my heart. I tried all night prayers, fasting, tithing, and even giving to the poor. I tried everything but still had a burden in my heart. I took life into my own hands, I tried to be someone with my strength but everything I tried failed. I was a Christian but I didn’t know what salvation was. I thought going to church everyday and trying to be nice was going to take me to heaven, but I was wrong. In 2010, I met Pastor Richard Hong of Goodnews mission church Johannesburg, a true servant of God who had fellowship with me and I received Salvation through John 1:29 – “behold the lamp of God who takes away the sin of the world.” That is when I knew that Jesus Christ came to this world only to take away the sin of the world, - past, present and future sins. Jesus Christ has washed them with his blood. He has redeemed us from the bondage of sin, He has paid the price for our sins in full. What I only need to do now is to ‘just believe’ nothing else. When Jesus was asked in John 6:28 “What shall we do that we may do the works of God? Jesus did not mention all night prayers, fasting, seeking miracles, but Jesus answered“. This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He sent. From the day I received salvation I am >>> from page 12

free indeed. I was tired of condemning myself each time I did something wrong. But now through Romans 8:1 “Therefore there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit”. From the day I received Salvation, my life has never been the same again. I have not struggled not to do anything, there is so much transformation that has happened within me without even me realizing that I am now a different person. It’s like I have moved from my driver’s seat and Jesus Christ is now driving my life. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me”. Life in Christ is so sweet I tell you. Apart from the material things that also came flowing to me after receiving salvation, I have peace within me. I do not even stress about anything. Even if things are not going well in my life I do not stress because I know that it is being taken care of by my Saviour. Even if my daughter doesn’t have school fees I don’t worry because I know my God will provide and surely he does provide. I have never gone to bed without food. In 2 Samuel 9:11 King David said “As for Mephibosheth he shall eat at my table like one on the Kings sons”. Mephibosheth is me and you who inherited sins from our grandfather Adam but what did Jesus say through his grace not by our own effort. “come to me all you who labour and are heavily laden and I shall give you rest.” My life after receiving salvation is so good. Every day I just see the hand of God. Once you become connected to God you do not labour to do anything. God already knows and answers before I even say it. I am not rich nor famous, I am just dust but my God sustains me daily. I do not seek any greater things for this life because I know that I am in the wilderness, my real hometown is coming, “HEAVEN”. If I have food for the day and shelter that is more than enough, clothing is bonus. In the Bible when the children of Israel were in the Wilderness going to Canaan they did not build permanent houses, but they pitched tents because their moving to the next point was determined by the ark of the lord in the form of a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire in the night. That is our model life. Brothers and sisters my only prayer for you is that you receive salvation. Do not look at your situation or what is happening in your life just believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins 2000 years ago and obtain the righteousness of Jesus Christ and be saved. Amen.

the secret of forgiveness of sin from the Word of God, if you still think that you have to do something yourself to be able to receive salvation and eternal life, you will never be freed from sin. Those of you who say you can do nothing, I believe that the Lord will bestow His Grace upon you and you shall indeed receive salvation. Salvation is indeed the Secret to the Promised Land. I also trust that when you face challenges in your life, if you will have a heart that says “Lord I can’t solve my problems, you do it for me”. God will have compassion, bestow His grace and take responsibility of your problems. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life” – (John 5; 24). The Special Seed for Life

Question and Answer

Counselling Jessica Smith My name is Jessica I have been married for 5 years but my husband drinks a lot, does not go to church. Our marriage is on a downfall and I now have a boyfriend who is willing to marry me. He is a Christian, does not drink. We met in church. I believe it’s God’s plan. I have prayed about it, so I am on the verge of divorcing and marrying my new boyfriend, please guide me. From the Special Seed Desk Dear Jessica, Thank you for sharing your heart with us. I believe when dealing with a situation like yours, it’s important to draw a thin line between motivational speaking and guidance (Colossians 2:8). Lets start off with Genesis 2:25 – “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed”, please compare this with Genesis 3:7 “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons”. You will realise Genesis 2:25 Adam and Eve were not ashamed yet naked, why? They had no standard of good and bad whereas in Genesis 3:7-10 they were naked and ashamed because now they had their own standard of good and bad, not God’s standard. From the beginning God never wanted you to have a standard of good and bad. His instruction was clear in Genesis 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die”. The next question is: What gave Adam and Eve their own standard of good and bad? The answer is SIN! Sister Jessica all what you have told us is irrelevant because you have used your own standard of good and bad and judged your husband, and you have used your eyes of lust to see good in your new boyfriend, there is no God’s plan at all! God has not judged your husband (Romans 10:14). From your words you still have a curse of sin in you. For you to apply God’s rules you must first be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Jessica, you must repent from your sinful image (Jeremiah 17:9, Mark 7:2123) inherited from Adam. Note that repentance is not asking forgiveness of adultery in your case but receiving forgiveness of the original sin inherited from Adam. Once that is resolved the symptom of sin which is adultery will also disappear through Christ who now lives in you. You are heading towards a dangerous path, it is lust/sin that gave you a false standard of good and bad. Galatians 5:16-26 – If you walk in the flesh you shall have the lust of the flesh but if you walk in the Spirit you shall not fulfill desires of the flesh.

Question: Are true Christians supposed to fast? If yes what is the correct way of fasting?? Answer: In order to please God people involve themselves in many ways of worship. In order to please anyone you should first know what they are pleased with, otherwise whatever you may be doing may be of help to you only and not the person it is meant to please. Read Isaiah 1:11-16 “The multitude of your sacrifices – what are they to me?” says the LORD. .... 16”Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from my sight. Cease to do evil”. According to this scripture the many things people do to worship God, God says He does not find their purposes so many people should know that some of their deeds which they use to “please” God, He is not interested in. Rather God’s focus is mentioned in verse 15-16. As Christians we must focus on first being clean, have your sins washed away as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). Read Luke 18:11-14 The Pharisee was involved with all manner of worship, giving tithes and would fast twice a week, but when he stood before God he could not realise what God was interested in, that is seeking mercy. Many people get involved with different forms of worship including fasting – which is good, but it can never be an assurance of Salvation that leads to eternal life. What is important in one’s life is to flow with Gods heart. This can never happen as long as your sin problem has not been resolved perfectly. As long as you still have the identity of sin inherited from Adam, any effort of worship be it fasting is fruitless. Many though they go to church, claim to believe in Jesus Christ yet they are sinners who always try to solve sin problems through prayers and fasting, unto such people one thing should be clear that is ...without being as righteous as God ...as perfect and holy as God, such people have become a burden for God, they are only seeking their own righteousness which is not acceptable to God. Sin is only resolved only when we have received a new identity of Jesus Christ, the righteousness of Jesus Christ because in us there is no righteousness. Fasting on the basis of the law is burdensome to God, you won’t be different from the Pharisee and scribes, like many people would say “I fast twice per week”. Some have formed fasting clubs or groups, and such fasting is not acceptable to God and its fruitless. After being truly born again, with clear fellowship of God, no one can dictate to you the aspects of worship because then you will be flowing with heart of God.

THE SPECIAL SEED THANKSGIVING MESSAGE Lord thank you for the Cross. Thank you for sending your only begotten son to die for us. We were born spiritually dead and separated from you because of sin. Thank you for reconciling us back to you through Jesus Christ. You have resurrected us, and we are spiritually alive again. Forgiveness of sin is the greatest gift that you have freely given to us by your amazing Grace. In us there is no righteousness but today we are righteous not because of our works but because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 is your greatest love story of all times. We thank you and appreciate your greatest love. May your story of great love be our story to change the nations and the world around us. As we bring our thankful hearts today, may you make us your tools to relay your amazing love to the next person, may you bestow your grace and provide us the heart of Jesus Christ to preach the gospel to one more person to be saved. God of Abraham, God of Isaiah, God of Israel we are grateful, may your name be exalted above any other name
