ictor’s
message to you
Hi Friends,
Thank you for reading and supporting the Special Seed Movement. Some of you might be going through a hard time, hurting situations, I too have gone through pain. I have made mistakes and have failed. However, I have a message for you: there are two things that need to happen to us as we live – at some point we need to fail and secondly, we need to meet people that are better than us, so that our hearts can be humbled. My pain, my tears, my mistakes, my struggles, my failures were the catalyst and passion to God’s purpose for my life. Just like Joseph, the pit, the prison, false accusations were His path to becoming the Governor of Egypt. The Special Seed Movement and this magazine being part of the movement was as a result of my painful, ugly but beautiful story of my life. Out of that dark life a great vision of The Special Seed was established: to preach the gospel of Christ, the power of God to Salvation (Romans 1:16) – to see people, all over the world, receiving forgiveness of sin, being truly born again and living purpose driven life that gives glory to God. It is my great story, my life message to the World. Friends you may feel you don’t have a Godly story to tell the World, but that’s the devil trying to keep you silent. Your past life to the point of receiving salvation is a great song in your heart to change communities, nations, and the World; to melt the hearts of individuals to the point of receiving Christ. Don’t let the devil bite your tongue any longer. When you have received Salvation, unlike Adam after eating the fruit of good and evil, you are no longer ashamed of your nakedness because the blood of Jesus Christ has covered you. You have been reconciled back to God through His son Jesus Christ. Friends, your tears, your pain, your hardships, your failures are a life message and blessing to the World. Press forward and share them to the World and you shall see the Salvation of God. Now after receiving Christ, you’ve got the light to fight the shadows, to drive away darkness, so stop hiding it away. With so much darkness and false teaching in the world today, there is a need to preach the true gospel of Christ. Your story of salvation is your ministry. From an ugly caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. This is my story and you have a big story too, let the World hear it! Jesus Christ changes our hearts and you can use your big story of Salvation to change other people’s life in light of eternal life. It is my prayer that you will receive the Word in this magazine into your heart by faith and your heart can change to the heart of Christ. Regards,

Quotable Quote “The best prayer that brings results for your life and the perfect prophesy about your life is the Word of God. When we receive the word of God by faith, we are receiving Jesus Christ into our hearts and life can only change and when you have truly received Christ, you become a stable person. You stop being a headless chicken searching for prayers, prophesy and miracles from every corner of the World, because you now have a direct line to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life”. – Victor Nkomo

Devotion: 1 What does it mean to be
saved?
L
ately I have been receiving questions on what it means to be truly born again, to be saved or to receive salvation or forgiveness of sin. My conclusion from this question is that not every Christian is a true Christian. For years I thought I was born again but I was not, like many I thought being saved means born in Christian family, or being baptized, some believe when a pastor calls an alter call and ask those who want to be born again, those that respond by raising their hands and they are prayed for, that means one is born again. What I find missing today in most places is precise teaching from the bible of the process of salvation prepared by God. Many think being saved means good deeds but this is far from being true. In simple terms salvation means being delivered from sin by Jesus Christ, or preserving the state of sinless nature. The first question that arises for us to understand salvation is: what went wrong from the beginning for God to save us? God created Adam as a sinless being, after they ate the fruit of good and bad sin entered the world to though him: “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned”(Romans 5:12). This means we are all born with sin, the inherited sin. It is also important to separate sin from symptoms of sin which include adultery, lying, stealing etc.
To understand this, think of the malaria virus, vomiting, headaches are symptoms of malaria, but they are not malaria. In the same way we have sin inherited from Adam and symptoms of sin. Treating vomiting or headache will not treat the malaria virus but treating the malaria virus will treat vomiting and the headache. Therefore when 1 John 1:9 talks about confessing our sin, it is talking about confessing our sinful nature inherited from Adam and also when the bible talks about salvation. It means being saved from the original sin which is causing symptoms of sin in our life. To support this analysis, we can look at David’s sin confession after he committed adultery in Psalms 51:5 “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me”. We do not see David confessing adultery or killing Uriah, but he confessed the original sin that caused him to commit symptoms of sin adultery and murder. It is hard to be saved by Christ if we do not know our nature, as humans beings we are filthy and dirty, nothing good dwells in us, this is who we are: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile The Special Seed for Life
a person.” (Mark 7:21-23). This is our nature, no matter how much we can try to be good and keep the law it’s impossible, we are trees of sin and no one will be justified by good deeds or by keeping the law of God: “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20). Therefore Salvation means all of us need to be reconciled back to God’s original plan, to be sinless to be saved from our current sinful nature. How did God achieve that? In Hebrews 8:1-5 God speaks about two tabernacles which were to be used for sin offerings, the first one was the earthly one built by Moses and it was a replica of the one in heaven. When Israelites sinned, they would take a blameless lamb to the tabernacle lay hands on it, sin gets transferred to the lamb by faith, because the wages of sin is death, the lamb would be killed and the Priest would put the blood on the horns of the alter, after that process the sinner becomes righteous (Leviticus 4:27-31). The same way the Israelites were saved from sin, God prepared salvation for us in the heaven tabernacle, how was the process done? God sent his only son Jesus Christ as the blameless lamp to die for our sins to reconcile us back to sinless nature. John 1:29 “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” . Today many people think and say they are born again >>> page 4
3
>>> from page 3 but they still say they are sinners and they still have condemnation in their hearts, yet Christ died for us to be sinless, these are the people that have spiritual emptiness. They rededicate their lives often, and because they confess symptoms of sin not original sin, their spiritual life is about repenting and sinning more on a daily basis, this is not spiritual life! 2 Corinthians 5:21 “God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” . Friends, this means God forgave all your past, current and your future sins, yes your future sins included, many get confused here. The question which arises is does that mean I can commit sin anyhow ? No, that’s not true. When you receive salvation automatically you receive the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy spirit that restrains you from committing sin, that’s why God says “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10: 16-17 (see also Jeremiah 31:31-34), putting His laws in our hearts means the Holy Spirit. This means we can’t keep the law on our own, God must do it for us. Therefore being truly born again means having faith that you are no longer a sinner, you are now a righteous person as God says so. He will never remember your sins no more, but many fail to receive this Word in their hearts by faith, they live with condemnation of sin in their hearts and that signals that you are not saved yet: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Our Spiritual life has 2 main pillars Repentance and Faith. Repenting from our sinful nature and receiving salvation by faith. Importantly it’s important to receive by faith that it is no longer you that lives but Jesus Christ: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). This makes us realize that true spiritual life is not a function of our actions but Jesus Christ doing things for us. He now lives in us. Being saved by Christ means we are drowning, we cannot save ourselves, He is the only Savior, and so trying to be good on our efforts means we are trying to be Saviors on our own, and that is impossible. Our only battle in our life becomes our own thoughts versus Jesus Christ who now lives in us. The law of grace is so simple that many fail to believe it because of its simplicity, it is the true Word of God. Friends, you might have been knowing that Jesus Christ died for you, just knowing is not the same as having faith but importantly is to believe, to have faith that your sins have been washed as white as snow and Isaiah
4
continues to say if you are willing and obedient to this Word you will eat the good of land (Isaiah 1:1819). The greatest question then is do you believe that Jesus Christ washed away all your past, current and future sins, you are no longer a sinner but you are now righteous not because of any good deeds you did but because of the sinless nature of Jesus Christ? If your answer is yes that means going forward you let Jesus Christ control your life and the Holy Spirit takes residence in you, as you live by faith. “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13). Galatians 5:16-26 guides us as well: walk in the Spirit so you will not lust for the flesh, that means you are now led by the Holy Spirit, in contrast to your previous life of walking in the flesh. Friends, it is my prayer that you receive the promise of salvation in your heart by faith, this is the MARK OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN, it is this mark that changes our life to true joy, love, happiness and assures us of eternity. “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10). “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life” (Romans 6:22)

Devotion: 2
After being Saved O
ne question that seems to dominate Salvation sermons or devotion is about future sins after receiving salvation. I would like to add a few thoughts from a purely biblical perspective. Hebrews 10:10 “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”. It is clear from this scripture that we have been sanctified or made holy once and for all, meaning sins of the future are already taken away as well. So rather than saying sorry, we say, “God – we are very thankful, we can see that although we are sinners, still God cleansed us”. But the next question that followed was, “Then in that case, people can just sin willfully, is that so ?“ quoting Hebrews 10:26 and my answer was that in that case such people did not really receive salvation in the first place. The first thing that we need to understand is our true image as humans,. Every Christian in the world wrestles with sin every single day of his or her life. Even the apostle Paul complained, “The good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice” (Romans 7:20). Our battle even after receiving salvation is our thoughts versus the Word of God. None of us is conformed to the image of Christ overnight, and this becomes a moment-by-moment challenge. It’s a process that will not be complete until we leave this world and see the Lord face to face. In the meantime, our assignment is to trust and have faith on God and keep on “walking in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). If we are saved, it means spiritually we are married to Jesus. So if Jesus dislikes sinning and so we dislike sinning as well. No matter who we are, if we can receive the word into our hearts, we will by faith automatically see change. Theoretically we know the word, but it does not go down to the heart. After receiving salvation, we will live like Jesus. Our effort must not be involved. We must not try to change on our own – otherwise, we will only fail. Do not try to change yourself but only accept the word of God into your heart by faith. If you accept the word into your heart, then you will see yourself changing. Just like a woman who receives the seed of the man, changes in her physical form and hormones, we will also change when we receive the word of God. The same way we receive salvation, should be the same way we approach our life after salvation. We received salvation by Grace not by our good deeds.
We have been made holy by the holiness of Jesus Christ not ours, therefore it is spiritual misalignment to say after receiving salvation one must try to be good on his efforts. It continues to be responsibility of Jesus to keep us holy, on our own we can’t change, from Genesis to Revelation no one became good or holy on their own efforts. In the Bible people like Abraham, King David and others were righteous men of God but didn’t they commit sin?, they did! God said David was a man of His own heart in Acts 13:22 and we know Abraham was our father of faith, what they went through proves our filthy image as humans. What separated these men from others was the grace of God, and the fact that they realized their sinful nature and God saved them, and there after they forsook their thoughts and followed the Word of God. Romans 11:32 “For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone”. Friends, even after receiving salvation we need to surrender all to God, not try to be good on our own, the main actor is Jesus Christ not us. So to say we have a role not to sin is not true spiritual life. That’s why in the first place we could not save ourselves from sin, but Christ demonstrated his compassion, grace, mercy and love and freed us from sin. We cannot be saviors from our own sin, your number one need as Christian is the enduring mercy of God; “No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” ( Micah 6:8). Friends, it is God’s mercy that will takes us to paradise not our good deeds because in us there is no good. Remember the thief on the Cross with Jesus Christ in Luke 23:43? The thief accepted the free gift of salvation by faith. It was Christ’s mercy that saved him and led him to eternity, not him living right by his efforts. His role was to give up on himself and received God’s Word in His heart by faith. >>> page 6

>>> from page 5 Coming back to the question of Hebrews 10:26 “Can I lose my salvation if I willful sin?” The verse doesn’t refer to people that are struggling with their true image, people that are willing to do good, but they can’t. It refers to people that reject Christ yet they know the truth, these are people that never really accepted Christ in the first place. It is someone who is beyond salvation because he has rejected the one true sacrifice for sins: the Lord Jesus Christ. If Christ’s sacrifice is rejected, then all hope for salvation is gone. To turn away willfully from this sacrifice leaves no sacrifice; it leaves only sin, the penalty for which is eternal death. This passage is not speaking of a believer who falls away, but rather someone who may claim to be a believer, but truly is not. Anyone who apostatizes is proving he never had genuine faith to begin with. “They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.” (1 John 2:19). We must know how to live spiritual life after we receive forgiveness of sin. If you live by the grace of God, your life cannot help but change. When you don’t know this you return to your old ways as you try to have good deeds on your efforts. What is comforting is that after receiving salvation you are no longer alone, Jesus will hold you. He will never let go of your hand until we get to that land beyond. Importantly understand this: after you have been saved you need a shepherd. Why? Because you are a sheep not a shepherd, but you need a true servant of God, that will guide you by the Word of God in your spiritual life, beware of false prophets! – (Matthew 7:15). You become nourished under a true precious servant of God. Bear in mind also that receiving salvation does not mean hardships will not come to you, but although we face hardships, God allows all things to work together for good (Romans 8:28). In Galatians 1:6-10 Paul warns us of the gospel of our own works relative to the gospel of Christ which is true. Therefore in our lives, let’s give up fighting. Let’s be knocked out like how boxers get knock out in a ring. From then on, we can face no more punches. Let’s forsake our thoughts and our good deeds, then spiritual life become true. We become righteous by the righteousness of Christ. As you journey forth in your spiritual life, join the great commission to work for the Lord. It is the only slavery assignment that brings true happiness in our lives. Continue to boast of your weakness, allowing yourself to be rebuked and guided. “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

I’m losing What must i do?
S
omeone posted a question on our Facebook page (The Special Seed) recently: I’m losing hope, what must I do? This is a question of many today, might be your question too. To arrive on a solution to this question, we need to look in the bible for people that faced hopeless situations. In Exodus 14 we find the Israelites in the midst of an extremely difficult situation: Red Sea in front of them and soldiers of Pharaoh in pursuit of them. From the Israelites perspective this was a hopeless situation. They were afraid. They said to Moses in Exodus 14:11-12 “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Looking at their response, the situation was hopeless. It was hopeless because the Israelites took the situation into their own hands, and they had taken the responsibility of crossing the Red Sea into their hands. Let’s look at how Moses reacted to them in Exodus 14:13-14 “Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the salvation the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” I usually tell people that your problem is irrelevant but your salvation is relevant. Friends, our understanding of the process of salvation gives us solutions to our circumstances. Your situation is hopeless to you but not to God. It is hopeless because you do not have assurance of salvation in your heart. Why am I saying this? If you have truly received forgiveness of sin, it is no longer you that lives but Christ (Galatians 2:20), do you agree? That means your definition of situations has changed too! So, when you’re looking at a situation, you no longer look at it as you but Jesus Christ. It is at this point that when others are panicking,

HOPE,
you find yourself calm – not because of your ability but because of the ability of Jesus Christ. This means the situation is no longer your responsibility but God’s responsibility. Friends, solutions of our life lies in the assurance of salvation in our life. Many are facing challenges because they have not understood the key to their lives, which is being truly born again. If you believe that you are saved by grace, why then do you try to solve your own problem? It only makes sense that only Jesus can solve your problem by His grace: Matthew 11:28 says “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Many of our problems can be traced back to the fact that we are trying to be saviors ourselves. There is only one Savior, Jesus Christ. Salvation is not up to how, righteous and holy we are. The Bible is clear “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). God knows that we have no righteousness, so He can never deliver us according to our works. Friends, when you perceive that you are evil by inheritance, give up on being good and righteous by your own ability and behold only on Jesus Christ, – the holiness of Jesus who does not sin under any circumstances will come into your heart and you will be free from evil and live a good life. The right way to salvation is looking up to Jesus Christ and trusting in Jesus’ righteousness not our own humanistic good deeds. When facing difficult situations in life the world will advise you not to give up and fight the situation with your strength. I compare this with cleaning the cup from outside leaving the inside dirty. It’s foolishness! It is the Pharisee syndrome. Salvation deals with the dirty inside, which is the dirt of sin inherited from our ancestor Adam. Once that is resolved, our life gets beautified. Friends, when facing a difficult situation, we need
to give up and surrender our burden to Christ, with the same faith that we received forgiveness of sin. You can relax knowing that Christ has taken over the responsibility of your problem. Many people read Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” and think that they have a role to play but that’s not what this verse is saying. The first thing needed is to throw off our self-sufficiency, to know our weakness and sin, and accept the salvation of God’s free grace in Christ; the next, to find the “strength made perfect in weakness,” and in that to be strong. It’s high time we stop reading the bible like an inspirational book. This is a spiritual book, and we need to read it in spirit too. From our perceptive our sins looked too big to be forgiven but Jesus Christ died for us and paid our debt of sin in full. We are now holy and righteous because of his righteousness. In the same manner, your situation might look hopeless but not to the Jesus Christ, take off your ability and transfer the responsibility to Jesus Christ. The same words Moses said to the Israelites are also true and are an answer to your situation that seem hopeless to you “Do not be afraid. Stand still, stop applying your humanistic methods and you will see the salvation the LORD will bring you today. The problems you see today you will never see them again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still, solving problems of your life is not your responsibility but the responsibility of Jesus Christ.” The key to your challenges is salvation prepared by God. Darkness cannot be driven away by darkness but it can only be driven away by light. We are darkness on our own with our own abilities and Jesus Christ is the true light. He is the only one who can drive darkness from your life. ”Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light” (Genesis 1: 2-3)

15:18-19). Before true salvation there is always repentance of the heart and our value becomes zero. “I am ruined, I am nothing, nothing good comes out of me”, – this the heart that God gives compassion.
Accept your
Assignment T
he purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfilment. It’s greater than your family, career or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. From Colossians 1:16, it’s clear that we were all created by God for God. In other ways you were born by his purpose and for his purpose – “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him”. Isaiah 6 gives us an interesting roadmap in accepting the assignment of God. As we live our spiritual life, there are two important questions that we need to have clear answers from the root of our hearts: 1. Do you have assurance by faith that Jesus Christ was crucified for your sins and all your sins were forgiven, are you truly born again, meaning it is no longer you that lives but Jesus Christ? 2. Are you living your life for the glory of the name of God or for your own personal gain?
8
Please note that if your answer is not clear on the first question, it is not worthy it to go to the second question because the “yes” answer on the first question qualifies you to take the assignment of God and live for the glory of God. Trying to glorify God yet you have not been truly saved is fruitless. It’s nothing, you will be like an empty vessel that makes a lot of noise. This is the noise that we find in religion today. In Isaiah 6:1-4, we see the death of King Uzziah and Isaiah saw the LORD reigning in glory, being attended by the angelic praise of His sublime presence, and filling the temple with the evidence of His majesty. ““Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” (Isaiah 6:5). These words of repentance by Isaiah remind us the words of the Prodigal son when he repented –“Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.” (Luke The Special Seed for Life
In Isaiah 6:6-7 we see a symbolic act; the angel with a live coal with the tongs of the altar, this signifies that the sin in Isaiah was removed. We know this is symbolic because never in the sanctuary was sin removed by searing the lips with a coal from the altar. What reality there was to this we may only surmise—it is unlikely that an angel actually took a coal and touched his lips. This is a heavenly scene and the heavenly correspondent to the coals is meant; the coals were the instrument of consuming the sacrifices that became the sin offering. The point is that the prophet was cleansed by direct divine intervention. The focus is on the lips because they represented the sinfulness of the prophet. The prophet was cleansed, the people, however, had yet to hear the word, confess, and be cleansed. When Isaiah acknowledged his sinful condition in the presence of the LORD, immediately in verse 7 he received forgiveness of sin – “With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Going back to our spiritual roadmap, Isaiah has passed the first question or the call of salvation, now to answer the second question, God asks in Isaiah 6:8 “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”. When Isaiah heard the call of the LORD to go, he immediately obeyed and took the assignment of God. Isaiah was thus commissioned to go and preach the Word of the >>> page 9
Devotion: 5
>>> continued. LORD to the nation. And before the prophet could preach this, he had to experience it, he had to repent and receive forgiveness of sin by faith. Friends, you are saved by God to serve God. God redeemed you so that you can do his work and glorify His name. When most people hear the word “ministry” they think of pastors, priests, but God says every member of his family has a ministry. Friends, your ministry is to live a purposeful life that glorifies God. You were not saved to be a liability, but to be an asset that wins souls as Proverbs 11:30 says that “ ... is a wise thing to do”. The old comparison between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea is still true in our spiritual life and life of serving. Galilee is a lake full of life because it takes in water but also gives it out. In contrast nothing lives in the Dead Sea because with no overflow, the lake has stagnated. Currently, your spiritual life is tiring and fruitless, it is because you have skipped a crucial stage of forgiveness of sin and now you want to take the assignment of God by your good deeds, that won’t work. There are no short cuts in spiritual life, the mountain called Forgiveness of sin, is a must climb, and it is comforting to know that you don’t need any action or effort to climb but only God’s grace. Friends, God wants you to take up His assignment. He wants to work through you and today He has given you the roadmap. What matters is not the duration of your life, but the donation of it (Rick Warren). “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. (Ephesians 2:10)
Part 1
the Curse Of your good deeds R
ecently while having a bible study, someone asked me “Brother Victor, why is it that bad things happen to good people and bad people seem to be blessed?” This is one common question, and maybe you have also wondered. The fact that many ask this question makes the bible the true Word of God – God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). We cannot phathom God’s wisdom. The answer to this question lies in how we as humans define good and bad and how God defines good and bad. From the beginning God never wanted us to have our own measure of good and bad that’s why He said to Adam “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:17). Today, God is echoing the same Word, the only perfect measure is the Word of God. People read the Bible. They also have service and pray. But although they are reading the same Scriptures, what they feel and what God speaks of, though they may be using the same words, mean completely different things. Since the world is so dirty and evil, you cannot feel your evilness even though you are evil. You see yourself with the standard of the person next to you because you cannot see yourself through the standard of God. “That man, even though he believes in Jesus and is an elder, is full of nonsense. I’m not like him.” That is why people believe themselves to be good. Although you are dirty, you believe that you are not very dirty because you have some good parts. Now, this is where the problem arises. What problem? In the standard of God, we humans are so evil that we cannot become good through human effort. Therefore, God gave up on man becoming good. However, man does not think this way. Man thinks, “Yes, I did sin, I did do some evil. But there is some good in me. If I live an honest and truthful life, I will become holy. I can go to heaven.” In the eyes of God, there is no good in man no matter how much man does good. Psalms 14:2 says, The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. Man is extremely evil in the eyes of God. But since we live amidst the evilness, we think of ourselves to be good, if we are just a little better than others. We do not know that we are evil even though we are. Thus, we believe that we can become good if we strive to be good and diligent. People all have this kind of heart. Therefore, they try to do well. That is why God gave the law to man. God did not give you the law for you to keep it and do good and go to heaven. If you try to keep the law, you come to realize how evil and dirty you are. God gave you the The Special Seed for Life

law for you to realize, “I can only be cursed and destroyed!” and have you give up on you trying to do good, and accept the righteousness of Jesus Christ. “So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” (Galatians 3:11). I once preached this gospel to a certain Pastor and he said to me “this is true gospel but I can’t teach this in my church because people will live in sin”, and that day I realized that many are lost because the people that are supposed to be the shepherds are also the sheep that need guidance. Although God gave us His amazing blessings, we can’t receive them because we are adding our own thoughts to the Word of God, later the same pastor asked me “should we then throw away the Old Testament, and focus on the New Testament?” My answer to him was that though the 39 books of the Old Testament do not mention of Jesus, the theme is Jesus Christ. In Genesis 27 through the story of Esau and Jacob, God wants to teach us the facts above. In Part 2 we will see how he cursed the righteousness or good deeds of Esau and blessed Jacob who only accepted the righteousness of Jesus. Friends, we are all born as trees of sin and expecting to pluck fruits of goodness in us is foolishness. How do you expect grapes from an orange tree? In Bible times, it was very common to graft olive trees. A branch from a good olive tree was taken and grafted onto a wild olive tree. In Romans 11:24 – God was using the grafting process to make a very important point. Instead of grafting a good cultivated branch onto a bad wild tree, God took a bad branch and grafted it onto a good tree. This was opposite of the way the first century people grafted olive trees. God had a good tree with a good root system. The Israelite nation was the tree with the root system of the patriarchal law, mosaical law, and the new law. The Gentiles were represented by the wild olive tree. God took the wild olive tree, the Gentiles, and grafted them into the good tree and it’s root system. The reference to the branches being broken off means that Jews who did not accept Christ were unacceptable to God. They were cut from the tree. This shows that just because someone has a sincere heart and believes in God does not mean that person will be acceptable to God. Only God has the power to graft a wild tree branch onto a good tree and have that branch produce good fruit. Friends, you must believe that you have been freed from sin by Jesus and accept Him as your only personal Savior – this is the only way to be acceptable to God. “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”-(John 14; 6). >> continue on Part 2 exploring Genesis 27**

The Heart Intelligence Corner “When the heart changes, everything changes”
Go to the Second Line of Thought! Everyone has the heart to believe in oneself. People live thinking they are best in something without carefully thinking. However, if one thinks just a little deeper, one can realize many mistakes and failures. When one acknowledges this fact, one can come to perceive that, ‘Oh! I have thought so wrong! I am not the best. I was deceived to think this way!’ Until one realizes the real self, it is very easy for one to think of himself as smart and all right. An example of how dangerous it is to believe in oneself is, when I don’t believe in someone, I will verify if his/her word is true or not. If I believe in that person, I would believe the words. However those who believe in themselves will just believe without any verification.” “The thoughts that come from the heart of believing in oneself are immediate primary thoughts. Those who live with primary thoughts cannot think that it is wrong to be living miserably being drug addicted. However, by thinking a bit more, one can easily realize how wrong those thoughts are. Such are collateral secondary thoughts. Very often, one can realize how wrong the primary thoughts are through the secondary thoughts. We should not just follow the primary thoughts that immediately arise within our hearts. When such thoughts arise, one should be able to think deeper, ‘Let me think from a different perspective. Is this the right thought?’ By having secondary thoughts, one can realize that the primary thoughts often believed are not so true. It is unfortunate to see many live believing in themselves and not knowing what is wrong.” (Who Are You Who Is Dragging Me?” pg.127 Pastor Ock Soo Park)

the Curse Of your good deeds
Part 2
A
s we continue with part 2 of this devotion, exploring Genesis 27 the story of Esau and Jacob. The greatest question is why was Esau cursed and Jacob blessed? When we read and study the bible carefully, we come to understand the secret of God that is hidden within the scriptures. From our human definition of good and bad, Esau was the good son, very honest and hard worker, a hunter. Whereas everyone will conclude that Jacob was a deceiver who got things that he did not deserve.
blessing before he dies.” (Genesis 27:6-10). From our own reasoning Rebekah’s plan is crooked to the core. In verse 11-13 we find Jacob a bit reluctant to his mother’s plan, fearing that his father might feel him and discover that it’s not Esau and curse him but Rebekah’s says “My son, let the curse fall on me. Just do what I say; go and get them for me.” (Genesis 27: 13). Jacob had to take the food to his father before Esau arrived and he got blessed and when Esau came back he was cursed by his father, why?
Let’s dig into Genesis 27 and see how God defined good and bad and the basis He used to bless Jacob and cursed Esau. Genesis 27: 1 – we meet Isaac who was now old and he calls Esau and asks him to go and hunt and make him the tasty food that he likes so that he can bless him before he dies. Esau listened to his father and went out exactly as he was told. Before Esau returns with the meal, Rebekah their mother had overhead his husband. Now, because Rebekah loved Jacob he says to him “Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau, ‘Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the LORD before I die.’ Now, my son, listen carefully and do what I tell you: Go out to the flock and bring me two choice young goats, so I can prepare some tasty food for your father, just the way he likes it. Then take it to your father to eat, so that he may give you his
Isaac the father is depicted as the image of God and the mother Rebekah as the image of Jesus Christ. Esau the older brother is the image of a man who tries to receive blessings by working hard by his efforts, keeping the law and the younger son Jacob is the image of a man who receives blessings by the help of Jesus, although he does not do anything himself. Esau did what his father had told him, he labored in the bush so hard but was he blessed or cursed? “And by thy sword shalt thou live…. (Genesis 27:40), he was cursed! God does not like people who come to him through their efforts. You must go to God through Jesus. Jacob received a tremendous blessing from his father, spiritually speaking Jacob brought forth only what Jesus prepared for him in order to be blessed. Remember when Jacob asked his mother “What happens if I get cursed?” His mother replied “I will receive the curse instead of you”, Jesus promised that He would receive The Special Seed for Life
every curse that we should receive. We were all born cursed by the sin of Adam, but Jesus took our sins and died for us. Another spiritual interesting aspect of this story is that Jacob went to his father completely covered, it was a condition for him to be blessed. That means all his sins were covered by Jesus, God only saw His son Jesus Christ. This also applies when we offer or tithe in church, we must be covered, the offering in which you reveal yourself is not an offering that pleases God, do it only in the name of Jesus Christ. Friends, Esau was cursed because he relied on his efforts, he tried to keep the law, and never relied on Jesus Christ. This is the spiritual life of many today, no matter how much you can pray, tithe, fast, if you have not received Jesus and received forgiveness of sin, you can only be cursed like Esau. Esau was good only according to our own human standards, but not of God. Friends, like Jacob we must be totally helpless when we go to our father Jehovah, “I am sinner who can only be destroyed, Lord have compassion on me”, – with this heart you will meet the Lord and as you receive the forgiveness of sin, you can only go to God through Jesus as He will now be living in you. Friends, today, the Bible is clearly teaching us about this. You are cursed if you come forth with the good things you have done well. But if you deny yourself and bring forth the righteousness and holiness of Jesus, you are blessed by God. Genesis 27 is clearly expounding this to us. “We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind”. (Isaiah 64:6

Happy Marriage still possible! Y
ou cannot preach about war if you have never been to war. Those that bear scars of war may be in better position to shed some light for us on what happens in war. Those that know my life might think I am not qualified to teach or preach about marriages, but that is fleshly reasoning. Today I will challenge you on this one not from a fleshly point of view but from a spiritual point of view, because we cannot not worship God in the flesh. I bear scars of marriage, scars of failure and I believe it is through these scars that my heart was changed from trusting myself to a humble heart that attracted the compassion of Jesus Christ leading to my salvation. It dawned to me the day I was now feeding the swine in the fields and sleeping with pigs, the day that I was no longer worthy to be called the son of God (Luke 15:19-20). However from that pain and suffering, the Lord had compassion and that pain led me to the true gospel of Christ, the power of God to salvation. And the Lord saved me, I became a new creation, from a caterpillar to a butterfly. Marriage – in the Scriptures – is a spiritual touch, a light unto our paths, a taste of heaven, a whiff of holiness and music to the soul as evident in the Songs of Solomon. Today’s marriages are characterized by a lack of longevity and unity. Many young people travel a similar path: get married, then divorce. Some get into relationships before marriage have kids, move to another relationship have another child. Some are just players with no hope for marriage. The fruit of the branch is directly traceable to the root. Break that connection, the branch dies, and no fruit is produced, this is reason why many have such dead situations in their marriages. By virtue of our union with Jesus Christ we bring forth fruit. In trying to get answers about marriage or how to have a happy joyous marriage, it is worthy it to look at the first couple in the Bible Adam and Eve. Many people today are searching for marriage partners. I have heard many saying “I am human, I need a partner, life is miserable alone, I have feelings too”. At the center of it all it is the sin that dwells in us, our hearts desire to do good but we fail why? Romans 7:17 “As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me”. It is only Jesus than can take us out of this mess, not our efforts or good deeds. In Genesis 2:18, God said “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Now did Adam look or search for a wife?, The answer is no, verse 21 says God caused a deep sleep to fall to Adam and he slept, and when he woke up the bones of his bones Eve was next to him. A deep sleep means Adam’s thoughts and the flesh were non-functional at that point, all good things of God come to us when we have forsaken our thoughts, and Christ has taken over our life. The first step to a happy marriage is that God must give you a heart to sleep,
12
a heart not to search, because your standard of good and bad is poor and brings false results always. God does not work when we are still working. I can tell you today if you are still looking or searching for a wife or husband in your own effort in the flesh, you will continue moving from one relationship to another, fornicating and all ending in pain. Genesis 2:25 says “And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed” why were they not ashamed?. They had not ate the fruit of good and bad, they were sinless, they had no standard of good and evil, their standard was God – through His Word, that’s why they did not know that being naked is an embarrassing thing. We can then conclude that God must save us or free us from sin before we even think of marriage. Friends when you have not truly received forgiveness of sin, true salvation, and allowed God to purify you, when you meet another individual who is unsaved / impure, the pull from the enemy overcomes you. The joining of those two people becomes a stronghold in the spirit realm, just as it would be if you joined yourself to God. It’s not the will of God for your life, but it becomes a soul tie. Galatians 5:16 “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh”. Many say that we just “clicked”, we have “chemistry”. What you have there is unclean same nature, and spirits attract their own kind. This is how you end up with someone you think is the right person, but is it just the lust due to the fact that both of you are walking in the flesh and that is contrary to God who is a Spirit. Therefore if you have entered in your marriage this way, your relationship will be characterized by what we find in Galatians 5:19 – “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God”. This our true image before we are saved. Our number one goal must never be pursuit of marriage but assurance of our salvation and forgiveness of sin. Those that are in marriage and are about to give up, only the redemption of both parties can repair the damage - Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace”. For those that are not married, once you receive true forgiveness of sin, like the man hit by robbers in Luke 10:30-37, Jesus takes you to the inn, which is your true spiritual home and he leaves you under guidance of an inn keeper who is a true servant of God who preaches the true gospel of Christ. This is the well of God where you will meet your bone of your bones. Friends, happy marriage is indeed possible, it is found in your relationship with Jesus Christ. As you live with your eyes focused on the Cross without any pursuit of marriage, we will soon receive wedding bells, I pray that this Word can be established in your heart by faith.

— The Great Story Manasseh Moyo
M
y name is Manasseh Moyo. I was born and bred in a Christian family. To many people growing up in Christian family seems to be a good upbringing. I was really thankful to have been brought up in a Christian background.
me to a church service the Sunday that followed. I was amazed to hear that. The Holy Spirit stirred me to attend the Sunday service. This was a miracle in my life. I had never attended a Sunday Church Service in my life before.
However, after receiving salvation I realized being religious is a major barrier to receiving true salvation. As I was having fellowship with Pastor Lee through whom I received salvation, one lady I used to attend the former church with said to me, “maybe one day you will fellowship in this church”. My answer to her was like that of Peter to Jesus. I told her that I would never fellowship in Good News mission. The woman’s words came true and I now fellowship in Good News mission.
The gospel I received in that service was a turning point of my faith life. I thank God and the holy spirit for making me meet this gospel. The church had just moved to my area, it seems as if the church came for me. I received salvation in November 2006.
As I grew older in stature and in church I became more religious and denominational. I was concerned much about what church one attends. By knowing what denomination one belongs to, I would judge whether you are saved or just a lost sheep. Worse still I was a keeper of the law. With time I became a church Elder. Upon being a church Elder I became so involved with church administration. That opened my eyes in many ways. The ratio of pastor to churches was 1:35 on average. That meant one pastor was responsible for 35 churches at least. There are 52 weeks in a year. Some lucky churches would meet the pastor once a year. His major theme would be tithes and offering when he did come. This state of affairs caused much famine in my spiritual life. I could feel hunger for the gospel. Such famine persisted for many years and I did not know how to quench it. In 2006 I met some volunteer missionaries in my neighbourhood. They invited
My thirst and hunger for the Word is no more because I have a pastor who gives me food to eat and water to drink whenever I am in need of some. I no longer have famine like I used to. Romans 4:4-5 “Now to one who works, wages are not reckoned as a gift but as something due. But to one who without works trusts him who justifies the ungodly, such faith is reckoned as righteousness”. When I received this scripture I realized that I was working for my salvation. As I worked for my salvation I was denying Jesus Christ. I am not saved for any good that I have done. Jesus who so loved me took away all my sins at the cross. From then on I became free from sins, I no longer have a guilty conscience for Sins. Being in Jesus has liberated me from denomination and bound me to Christ. I thank God for giving me salvation. Matthew. 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it”. Glory to God for leading me to the narrow gate. Brothers and Sisters, come to the narrow road that leads to life. The Special Seed for Life
Conselling Thapzi Loke, Lesotho My name is Thapzi Loke I need your help I was saved long back. I loved God crazily and led people to come to Christ but recently feel different. I no longer go often to church meetings, I lie, I no longer tithe I feel I deeply that I need God, what must I do?. From the Special Seed Desk Dear Thapzi, Thank you for reaching us, we are happy that you were able to open your heart and express what is in you of which many people these days don’t do so. This is the first step toward living a true spiritual life. Luke 15:11-33 talks about the prodigal son, he squandered his inheritence from his father and only come back after he had failed. When he was in the father’s house whether he worked or not he would receive food and lived a happy life. When he left he could not eat unless he worked, and lived a miserable life. Luke 15:17 when he came to himself, he said, “How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger”! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee...” When he came to himself one thing he realized: there is difference between living with portion of the father and living with the father. Living with the father he would obtain love, wisdom and care while living with a portion none of those things existed. Many times in our spiritual life we live with the portion of the father rather than the father. At that time it can seem to us like we love God, we believe in him and also we are even preaching but it can be doing with our own zeal that has

nothing to do with God. Just a portion not together, hence Mathew 7:210-23 says not all who say to me lord lord shall enter into the Kingdom of God. Many though prophesied, casted out demons and did many miracles He never knew them and had to depart coz they did it all with portion of the father but not with the father. When the prodigal son came back home he knew the heart of the father who is after giving him mercy only. The father who does not focus on our works but focuses on the work of His Son Jesus Christ, such that when he came back home, his condition did not matter. Romans 11:32 “For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone”. God does not expect anything good from us because already he has concluded us unto disobedience...Satan is the one who makes us try to prove God wrong by trying to make straight what he has made crooked (Eccl 7:13). When one uses a GPS device, the navigator shows you your location after connecting with GPS. From then you can also know the destination, same with our spiritual life. It is important to know where we are according God’s view, from then on it’s also easy to learn the true spiritual life. Satan always makes us continually search God without first knowing clearly our true image. Mark 7:21: ”For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person”. This is our location even before seeking God. We should clearly understand we are already defiled. It’s not because we don’t offer, tithe fast and do all those good things or bad things. We are defiled deep down in our hearts already from the day we were born. Our God who only looks at the heart can only see our defiled heart however much we try to involve ourselves with good works (1 Samuel 16:7). King David in Psalms 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me” David confessed the original sin, his hopeless image not the adultery or murder he committed. It is at this point that God receives you and from there onwards your life becomes the responsibility of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10:10-17, God says I sent my only begotten son to die for your sin. He became the sin for you Thapzi Loke. All your sins were transferred to Jesus Christ, and you are now freed from sin. He has forgiven all your sins “once and for all”. He will never remember your lawless deeds and sins, and if you receive these Words by faith into your heart, it is no longer you that lives but Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:20). I urge you to continue reading our devotions and continue fellowshipping with the servant of God referred to you in Lesotho. We need true shepherds of God in our spiritual lives. May this Word be established in your heart.
Question and Answer Question: Is speaking in tongues a symbol of true Christians? Answer: 1 Corinthians 12:27-30 points out that the church is the body of Christ and there are many gifts that are part of the body of Christ. That includes speaking in tongues but it is not confirmation of one being truly born again or saved. Being born again is not revealed by any act of man rather only by the promise given by God on His Word. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 “and If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal, And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love”. Who is love? Jesus Christ is love, and assurance of salvation must be our number one goal. Without the mark of salvation, we will be like the foolish virgins when Jesus comes again. According to Mathew 7:21-23 many may prophesy, cast out demons and do many wonderful works inclusive of speaking in tongues but still the bible says Jesus will say he never knew them. Matthew 12:39: People continually seek for a sign a symbol to confirm salvation but no sign or symbol is prepared for them; its only by faith in the Word of God. The parable of the 10 virgins wise and foolish in Matthew 25:1-13 gives us the judgement criteria of who will be saved when Jesus Christ comes. It is those that have the oil and oil is the Holy Spirit and to have the Holy Spirit, one needs to receive forgiveness of sin. To be truly born again as given by Acts 2:38 -– Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” concludes that he who does not believe the gospel of Jesus waiting for the symbol is damned. 1Corinthians 14:19-22 clearly points out that tongues are a sign not to believer but unto non-believer. In the heart of many people that ask this question, they normally wish to know the sign of salvation and they lack the faith to believe the promise of salvation in the Word of God, so they are outside Jesus Christ and Jesus is in not living in them yet. The bible is clear one may speak in tongues yet not born again and also the tongue is for the benefit of a non-believer. Being religious is not being a true Christian, many have the lamps (Bibles) in their houses but they do not have the oil – the Holy Spirit. The real proof of true Christianity is not miracles, speaking in tongues, or prophesy. It is having your heart connected to Jesus Christ, having Jesus living in you by His Holy Spirit and bearing the fruits of the Spirit of Christ in us. (Galatians 5:16-26, (Romans 5:5; John 13:34-35; Romans 8:14; Acts 5:32, Hebrews 1:1-3)
