What if a bottle of wine represented something bigger, something more important than just a bottle of wine?

The Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs, in association with Montage Events and LGBT+ Wine Society is excited to announce this first of its kind event in Palm Springs, Equality Wine Fest on July 1, 2023. Featuring top LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Women owned, managed, and/or produced wines. This exciting Wine Focused tasting event will be held inside the Margaritaville Resort Compass Rose Grand Ballroom in Palm Springs, California, and will feature some of the top wine producers in the US, local restaurateurs, artists’ showcase, retail pop-up shops, and silent auction. Charity beneficiaries include Give Kids the World Village, Brothers of the Desert, and the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert.

Equality Wine Fest will gather winemakers, industry professionals, celebrity chefs, vendors, and enthusiasts alike to learn and appreciate great wine and food, all while celebrating and supporting diversity. Festival goers will enjoy wine tastings of 60+ wine varietals and food samples, along with music, educational speakers, demonstrations, silent auction, and VIP experiences, all creating an environment that fosters community among everyone involved in enjoying every sip and taste.

The VIP Grand Tasting (12pm to 4pm) presented by Iron Horse Vineyards, begins one hour before general admission and includes an exclusive talk and meet & greet with Jim Obergefell (Equality Vines Co-Founder and civil rights activist who was the lead plaintiff in the

2015 U.S. Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage throughout the US), EXCLUSIVE Iron Horse Vineyards VIP tasting, exclusive VIP Gift Bag, and early access to all the sips and bites, along with a Souvenir Wine Glass, Program Book, and entrance to all pop-ups, silent auction, demonstrations, and talks.

Joining Jim Obergefell will be Celebrity Chef Andre Carthen (“The Fit Chef” as featured in Kathy Ireland’s many books, and coauthor with Janet Jackson of NY Times #1 Best Seller “True You”), bringing his culinary gifts to the stage. Chef Betty Berrysmith from B’s Table, a Coachella Valley staple, will bring her Southern inspiration. Wabi Sabi Japan Living founders Osamu Sagara and Darell Baum will demonstrate a traditional Japanese recipe, along with Sake tasting. Additional speakers continue to be added to the lineup.

The weekend will also include a Saturday evening Winemaker Dinner and Sunday Champagne Brunch.

Walter Clark Legal Group’s Safe Ride Home Program will be in effect for EQUALITY WINE FEST. When drivers who have become impaired by alcohol choose to take a cab, Uber, or Lyft ride home instead of getting behind the wheel of their car, Walter Clark Legal Group will reimburse their fare for the ride home.
