The JMF Family would like to welcome you all to our Spring Online Bull Sale.

We thank our customers and friends for the updates over the past year on how the JMF influence has benefited their bottom line.

At JMF, we take great pride in building our program around our family, customers, and the cowherd. Our family is grateful we are able to do what we do for a living. We enjoy the outcome of our efforts and to be able to raise a family in such a wonderful industry.

The cowherd is built to last. The cattle must be able to do it on their own. The cows live on mostly crop residue and rough grass hay. We fill in the gaps with by-products. We expect the cattle to be maintenance free! We do not tolerate poor-footed, needy type cattle - trimming feet doesn’t exist here and functional udders are a must. We also want our customers to know we stand behind our product - it has to work on both ends!

I want to put in a word for my wife, the ‘boss’! We call her the boss because she earns it every day. She keeps us all going and does it well. I want to thank Jaelyn, Tate, and Ty for all their hard work. Any time we are sorting or running cattle through the chute, they are always ready to help - paddles and marking sticks in hand! Little Emmy is always tagging along and soaking it all in. We feel lucky to have such an awesome crew to have around. It is very pleasing and humbling to watch the kids love what we do!

Spring Online Bull Sale

ONLINE ONLY:

GUARANTEE

All yearling bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pickup or delivery on or after April 15, 2023. In addition to the standard Terms and Conditions of the American Hereford Association, we will provide the first breeding season (the 90-day period immediately following turnout) guarantee on all bulls. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full purchase price less the salvage value of the animal.

Terms of the sale are cash. All lots are to be paid in full within 2 weeks of the sale.

WINTERING, BULL DEVELOPMENT, AND INSURANCE

JMF would like to develop the yearling bulls until April 15, 2023 at no charge. By April 15th, they will have their semen exam, receive pre-breeding vaccinations, and be ready for pickup or delivery. We do ask that you take possession of your bull(s) at this time. After April 15th, yardage will be charged at $5/head/day. Cattle will be at buyers risk immediately following the sale. We strongly encourage buyers to purchase a mortality insurance policy for any animal(s) left to be wintered. Please let us know if you need a contact for insurance and we would be happy to assist you with that.

CANDIDATE FOR HEIFERS

JMF Herefords and SimAngus is calling certain individuals as a “candidate for heifers.” This means we have evaluated, to our best ability, to select bulls that we feel you will have the least amount of trouble and the most amount of success in breeding your heifers. However, this is not a guarantee you will never pull a calf out of these bulls or never have trouble. Know your operation and know your cattle while selecting bulls.

DELIVERY

Free delivery on all bulls within a 200-mile radius of the sale. In the event you have a further distance to travel, we will assist in the coordination of your animals’ delivery.

Foundation sire. Hickok as been one of the most influential bulls we have had the privilege to own. With his tremendous amount of guts and power, he has made a huge impact on the JMF program.

RED RIVER 019H , a bull that combines every breeding piece we have focused on at JMF. Has has looked and acted like a herd bull from a very young age. His mother is a Hickok daughter and Grandam is the great Lady 94T. Being a Cowman himself, he is a product of one of our best to-date matings - the Hickok x Cowman cross. Super loose hided, long made bull. Very excited about his daughters. They are still heifer calves but they look to be very moderate and bold ribbed. You will find Red River sons in this offering - they are high performing with mass and density, along with calving ease.
