2023 TOP CUT FEMALE SALE SATURDAY • NOVEMBER 25TH, 2023 • 4:00 PM (CST)

Welcome

WASHINGTON SALES PAVILION • WASHINGTON, KANSAS

sale day phones

Who would have thought that our opening statement from last year would still be relative this year, so here we go. What a year 2023 has been, with widestricken drought there has been major inconsistencies and especially highs in feed/hay costs making it tough to be in the cattle business. However this year we were lucky that not only the commercial cattle are selling high but it has trended like it should in the seedstock and junior show arena. We could go on and tell you that our cowherd is built to withstand the weather but if you are reading this catalog you already know that. There was an article written about us about being daringly diverse and if you go through these open heifers you can see it. As much as it is being diverse with different breeds the consistency stays true. When you like good livestock and run large numbers of cows like we do it isn’t as diverse as you think. Good Stock is Good Stock and if you breed a good bull to a good cow you will have the kind of progeny that is consistent and this set certainly portrays that. We believe there are National show contenders in every breed and certainly one for everyone. We sorted these females down based on the right kind of structure because we believe longevity is the most important of all. With that being said you can still sort em and find differences but all in all this set will go out and be productive cows when their day in the ring is finished. We’ve talked about the cows but equally as important is the bull battery that we have put together over the years. A majority of them selling are sired by our stuff. As you look through the Charolais offering you will see a set of elites and nearly all by Force of Nature. He was used on a variety of different pedigrees but the structure and consistency held true; if you haven’t used him yet we feel this offering will get you in on the bull. Highway 69 is a new Maine bull we raised with 3 Fires and he is working equally as well in his breed. Cita Tango has seen limited use in the Red breed but dang they are good cattle and he needs considered. A majority of the breds are AI’ed to JSAR Titan for the 10th year running and they are as stout and nice as ever. They will have only been off grass for 3-4 weeks by sale day. Big Deal has stood the test of time and is still our go to PB Simmental bull; they not only have an elite presence but they are making great cows. Lastly Alpha is making a huge impact here as well, we have used him in a multibreed scenario and there is an elite one in the Angus, Chi’s, Maine, and Simmental breeds. Study the pedigrees as well as the cattle and they are laced with the Bulls of The Continent for multiple generations. We wouldn’t even be having a sale if it weren’t for the crew behind the scenes. They are our rock and have worked extremely hard to bring these cattle to you in tip/top shape. If you have any questions about the cattle ask them too, they know them as well as anyone on the place, and be sure to let them know how awesome they have this set looking.

From all of us at “The Continent”, Thank You!! Stewart Family

ANGUS

RANCH ID 95FL BIRTH MONTH MARCH

Retaining 1/2 embryo interest

SIRE: COLBURN PRIMO DAM: SPICE DONOR (HOT ROD)

Without a doubt the most intriguing and best Angus heifer ever born in Washington, KS. She does the big things they need to be an awesome show heifer and even bigger things on down the road as a cow. She has been a standout all summer and her dam was Champion Angus and 3rd Overall at the Kansas State Fair and traces back to Titan’s Grandmother.

lot

2

ANGUS

RANCH ID 602GEL BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: JSAR TITAN DAM: X13 DONOR (WAR DIRECTION X HOT ROD)

An absolute brut of a cow and honestly she shouldn’t be sold. To tie a neck with that much body and substance is hard to do while still making them sound. She has several full sisters in production here that are making their mark raising both high $ bulls and females.

ANGUS

RANCH ID OO1SCH BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: 24 KARAT DAM: PRIMO X BISMARCK

When a 24Karat comes with legs and a build like this one they usually win. I know she is a little younger but the quality is as good as it gets in this breed. Her Dam won the Kansas City Junior show and numerous other shows and fairs for the Gerloff Family. This one could follow in her footsteps.

4

ANGUS

RANCH ID 63DL BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: COLLISON ALPHA DAM: COLLISON FOREVER LADY 1794 (STYLE)

When you cross two of Collison’s best cow families you get females like this one. I bought her dam as a bred heifer a few years ago, she is a 7/8 sister to Forbes and her first calf was one of our high sellers a couple years ago.

5

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 0518SHAF BIRTH MONTH FEBRUARY

SIRE: WC MILESTONE 7543 P (M912767) DAM: SHR MIMO 0518 (CCC REMEDY X RHINESTONE)

An outcross to a lot of today’s “show” pedigrees and she will show. We bought her dam from Shaffer’s here in Kansas with this heifer in-utero and we were excited when this one hit the ground. Raise them good type of livestock.

lot

6

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 2BOW BIRTH MONTH MARCH

Retaining 1/2 embryo interest

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: OUTSIDER X 0641

Force of Nature is the bull to use in the Future! We are deep on Charolais females this year and nearly all of them are out of him. The structure, feet, and legs that this bull puts on them is 10/10 and like no other we’ve seen to date that still puts on extra mass, body, and hair. These two sisters are 100% ready for preseason shows but built even better for the long haul.

8

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID L154ODD BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: PLEASANT DAWN MAGNUM 56T X DAKOTA WIND

The Odden’s really pulled through with these next two lots. The density of bone, structure, body length, and shear body mass is exceptional in their genetics and I think FON turned it up even more. This heifer’s neck seems to never end and coupled with the mass and skeletal build she will compete.

lot

9

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 777ODD BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: FIREWATER X STEALTH 9509

This female is royally bred. Numerous Champions and high sellers have been made by her dam and grandam. This heifer is so balanced and smooth in her build and has the composition to turn it on in the show ring.

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 61WDL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: 0641 CLONE

You are reading it correctly, Force of Nature’s out of the famous 0641. We brought only the best genetics forward in this Charolais group. These two heifers are exactly what we hoped for; soft haired, big middled, perfect structured for the long game, and have the type of look and body that works in todays arena!

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 640YEL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: HAZEL DONOR (F1292630)

The dam of this heifer has and will continue to make history for the Englert’s and us. She was Reserve in Kansas City as a bred heifer and we took her back the next year as a pair and were crowned the Reserve National Champion Female; her daughter was our high selling Charolais Female last fall and won her fair share as well. The pureness of balance and correctness of structure astounds us and she has exactly what her mother had with way more extension, neatness, and hair.

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID FIONACL BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: 03133 (EF1292254)

We lined up Redemption on this mating and boy did it work. As true of a skeleton you can find in a Charolais, her legs are forever, her hair is soft, and she will dominate in her class and division all year long, likely taking a run at the older females.

lot

14

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 116EL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

Retaining 1/2 embryo interest

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: TURTON X 27 HOO DOO DONOR (EF1342651)

A full sister to the $15,000 high seller in Ridders fall sale and she was a class winner and Reserve in the calf division already this year in Kansas City. We feel this one has many of the same attributes as her sister with a little more punch. Her dam is a maternal sister to the Heifer that was Supreme at our State fair a few years back for Hodges and DWE.

15

CHAROLAIS RANCH ID 228CL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: C319(POWERCAT) OR GIGI (RESOURCE)

These next two lots have been DNA’d but at the time of catalogging they hadn’t got back to us yet but will be by sale time. C319 was the Champion Charolais and 5th overall heifer at the Kansas State Fair for Nikkel’s. Gigi was very successfully shown by Hayden Englert and is a direct daughter of Ridder Farms 631 Bohannon daughter that is flat selling them high for Ridder and Rosebud.

Our partner and good friend sent us a great one here. When we had the opportunity to sell a 631 we jumped all over it because to be down right honest, they are flat getting it done. She fits the mold of all her past high selling sisters and will be another asset to anyone’s donor pen some day.

COMPOSITE CHAROLAIS CHI (LOW%) RANCH ID 59WDL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: CASH IS KING (MAB) DAM: PUREBRED CHAROLAIS (BOHANNON)

The composite offering is stout this year. A combination female that screams cow. She has the structure and female look that Wiedel is known to produce and win with; its one’s like these that end up raising em down the road after a successful show career.

COMPOSITE CHAROLAIS CHI (LOW%) RANCH ID 51GL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: FORCE OF NATURE (EM961978) DAM: U99D DONOR (MAB X 27 HOODOO)

Force of Nature is working on all aspects of our cow herd. These next three are full sibs in blood and are also 3/4 blood Charolais heifers that have the goods. We argue back in forth in the barn on which one is the best one, and some days we change our minds but still argue our points. I could give a lengthy description of each but I recommend coming and looking at them and picking the one you like the best.

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 47LODD BIRTH MONTH APRIL

Some may call her a sleeper in this sale, but I personally like this one a great deal. SIRE: IN GOD WE TRUST DAM: PB CHAR

Wow! A full sister to the IGWT heifer we sold a few years ago that won a bunch for the Trauernicht Family including Champion Chi at the America Royal and is just starting to make her mark as a cow. CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 5-1STRO BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: IN GOD WE TRUST DAM: MCF CHEVELLE (INTERSTATE)

A full sister to the $38,000 steer from our sale this fall, Lightweight Division Champion Steer Iowa State Fair, and also the very successfully campaigned heifer that Clason’s raised and showed just a couple years ago. I call her somewhere between a market or breeding heifer and the bottomside of this pedigree are making tremendous cows.

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 123WDL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: GONE WILD (GONE VIRAL) DAM: PB HEREFORD

The lone “Fake Hereford” of the sale but she has the most quality. She’s as genuine structured and built as any you will find with the right amount of muscle and look to raise all kinds of good stock, including more like her color pattern

lot

32

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 544WDL BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: GONE VIRAL DAM: 3 DONOR (MADE RIGHT)

This is a full sister to a bull Curtis raised that if he had been cut could have topped our steer sale; watch for him to replace Gone Viral some day. This heifer puts together a real high quality yet cowy look. Her color pattern helps set her apart from the rest and she ought to raise em like the best of them can.

lot

33

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 54WDL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: JACK OF HEARTS (MAB) DAM: GONE VIRAL’S FULL SISTER

This is the red/white heifer from the snaps that drew a lot of attention. Elite necked, awesome structured, and just enough power to be relevant but not too much to be to steery. We like this one to raise elite show progeny.

lot

34

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID 526EL BIRTH MONTH FEBRUARY

SIRE: GONE VIRAL DAM: DR378D DONOR (MCF SALTY DOG X WENT SUPERMOM)

CHI (LOW %) RANCH ID WHT16CL BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: HERE I AM DAM: TRES D DONOR (MCF SALTY DOG X TRES/PLAY RAY)

These next two lots are full sisters to the Grand Champion Kansas State Fair Steers shown by Dax and Parker. We are caught between which one is better because as different as they are they are quite the same. They will show as Market Heifers but after bringing their full sister bred heifers home off of grass I would say they will make as good a cows as anything bred like this will. Elite Structure, out there build and hair quality, and this pedigree just gets better with age.

The next two sisters can’t be built any more different. This one will compete at any level in this breed! She is a more moderate version of her full sister that was successfully campaigned by Meyer’s this year. She won Belleville and was the Champion PB Sim at Kansas State Fair.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID 257FL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: WLE BIG DEAL DAM:Y12 (STAR POWER X IMPRINT)

Give this one some more time because this summer I thought she was as good of a PB as you would find anywhere. She is gentle natured, elite in her structure and skeleton and bred to raise em when she is done.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID CARMEN BIRTH MONTH FEBRUARY

SIRE: RELENTLESS DAM: STF CARMEN C758 (ASA #: 2985155)

The burliest and most ready to go to a show PB. We found this one in the sandhills and knew she needed to be put in this sale. It’s hard to build PB’s like the ones we have in this sale.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID 46GL BIRTH MONTH JUNE

SIRE: RELENTLESS DAM: UNO MAS X BUILT RIGHT

The youngest heifer in the offering but nearly perfect in her kind. She will be dominate in her division everywhere. Her full sister was the many time Champion PB Sim showed by the Deyoe family.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID 204L BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: WC DOUBLE DOWN DAM: WWS TRADER X GRIZZLY/DREAM ON

PB Simmies with this stout of feature and build just don’t normally move as great as this one does or have the kind of balance that this one has too. The Ingram’s outdid themselves making this mating decision because she is elite in many ways.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID 197WDL BIRTH MONTH APRIL

SIRE: UDE PROFIT 67F (AKA CODE RED) DAM: Z080 DONOR (BULLSEYE X MO BETTER)

These next two full sisters are probably two of the best Z080 daughters to sell to date. One is red, one is black, but both will get the job done. We are deep on PB Simmies and we were the most critical of how they are built when deciding what to keep in the sale.

PUREBRED SIMMENTAL RANCH ID 168WDL BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: LHT MR FORTUNE 163F (ASA #: 3449384) DAM: HAMMER X INTE/MISS DUNK 18T

This one is as exotic and pretty for a PB as any I’ve laid eyes on. She is young and not completely hit the level of bloom as the others in the sale but when you see a PB that can hold their head up as proud strolling through the lot as she does when she is alert in the picture pen you know they are special!

SIMMENTAL (3/4) RANCH ID 356HL BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: MACHINE GUN KELLY (EXEC. ORDER X WHEELMAN) DAM: BIG DEAL X JSAR TITAN

The lone 3/4 blood in the sale but she will compete with any 1/2 blood out there and then raise PB’s like we like to offer. Machine Gun Kelly is a new herdsire of ours from CTN Simmentals.

PERCENTAE SIMM (1/2) RANCH ID 71SETH BIRTH MONTH MARCH

SIRE: WC LOADED UP DAM: BROOKDALE BLACKCAP 1268

Not all Loaded Up’s are built like this one but when they are they are valuable. She has the power, look, and muscle that he always throws. Where she is unique is that it ties together way squarer out her hip, tailhead, and hindleg as any I’ve ever seen.

PERCENTAGE SIMM (1/2) CHI (LOW) RANCH ID 59GL BIRTH MONTH FEBRUARY

SIRE: WLE BIG DEAL DAM: PU34C DONOR (MON X TRES/PLAY RAY)

As stout built of a Big Deal that we’ve raised. She ties together that shape with a very great look. Big Deals like her shouldn’t be sold and rather kept for cows but I thought she would be a tough to get around show heifer and so here she is, for sale not on sale.

PERCENTAGE SIMMENTAL (1/2) RANCH ID 08CL BIRTH MONTH MAY

SIRE: MCF BIG JUDD (BIG DEAL) DAM: BIG DEAL X ANGUS

I’m a sucker for a good Red Baldy, to the point of wondering why we’re selling her. Her sire is one of the best Red Halfbloods you will ever lay your eyes on and her mother is an absolutely flawless cow. The kind of cow that make you push to raise more like her.

Bred Females

We will be offering a “Top Cut” selection of 40+ Bred Females in the sale. This selection will include many breeds and are all bred to JSAR Calving Ease Angus Bulls. These females are due to calve in March and sell guaranteed pregnant. Bred Female photos and supplement sheet will be posted on the web site prior to the sale and supplement sheets will be available in the office on sale day.
