Martez Smith paralyzed Printz Staff Senior linebacker Martez Smith, a 22-year-old interdisciplinary major, is paralyzed from the waist down after Sunday’s shooting at the Hunt Club, Coach Larry Fedora said at Tuesday’s press conference.

Senior Martez Smith and juniors Deddrick Jones and Tim Green remain ‘in fair condition’ after suffering gunshots early Sunday morning. Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Smith and two other USM football players, 21-year-old junior linebacker Tim Green and 23-year-old junior defensive end

Deddrick Jones, were shot in the club’s parking lot. “Martez is paralyzed right now from the waist down,” Fedora said. “We’re hopeful that that may

change in the future, but one way or another he is going to have a productive life, and we will be there for him either way. We hope that changes but if not we’ll deal with it.” The three players remain hospitalized. Fedora said the rest of the

Eaglepalooza rocks the Burg Mary Margaret Halford Printz Writer Since May, the Student Government Association of Southern Miss has been preparing for Eaglepalooza, a free music festival held in downtown Hattiesburg.

Tomorrow night, the event will draw students and residents of Hattiesburg to come together and enjoy each other’s company while listening to music. The event will include musical performances beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Matthew Funches and ending with We the Kings who

will play at 10:00 p.m. Other entertainment for the event includes: Banner Fair, Lindsey Lee, Speaker Boxx, and a Southern Miss pep rally. Eaglepalooza executive director, Katherine Miller, said that the show will include all types of music. Funk, indie, hip-hop, and pop

rock will be represented and there will be something for everyone. Along with musical entertainment, booths will also be set up on site at Eaglepalooza. The vendors will have food, beverages, and give-a-ways. Homemade des-
