WHO ARE WE?
The Sustainability Academy
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were adopted in 2015 at the UN General Assembly, but with less than 8 years left to achieve the goals, there is still much to be done.
The Sustainability Academy was formed in 2020 with the intention of taking the message of the SDGs to educate and engage as many people as possible on what they mean and what actions people can take to achieve them. We enable businesses to engage their entire colleague population with the SDGs together with the company’s own sustainability targets and ambitions, by using our bespoke elearning platform to ensure colleagues are educated on what the SDGs mean and also how the company’s actions can help in their successful implementation. It's not just the current generation of decision makers that need to engage with the SDGs, it's the next generation too. That's why we've also created the KidsSDGs programme to inspire this next generation to carry the sustainability torch and create a fairer, more prosperous planet for all its inhabitants.

OUR MISSION Our mission is clear; to educate the way to a sustainable future. Our aim is to engage and educate as many people as possible on the SDGs in order to equip them with the capability to make sustainable choices in their lives. Only by everybody working together towards a common cause can we create a better, greener and more prosperous future for all inhabitants of the planet. We provide training programmes and development opportunities in order to give people the tools required to play their part in achieving the SDGs by 2030. Our SDGs for Organisations programme helps businesses to educate their total colleague population on sustainability, whilst our KidsSDGs programme engages the next generation of leaders to ensure the vision of a sustainable future for the planet is one that becomes a reality.
A sustainable future for all requires education and engagement today

UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS There are 17 SDGs and 169 targets in total.
The 17 SDGs are all interrelated and provide a framework to tackle poverty and inequality and address humanity's greatest challenge, climate change.
SDG 10 REDUCED INEQUALITIES Reducing inequalities will create a future where people are treated equally and the opportunity to a sustainable future is accessible no matter who you are or where you live.
SDG 13 CLIMATE ACTION If we are to address humanity's greatest challenge, we need to engage as many people as possible to combat climate change. This means extending sustainability practices throughout the whole of an organisation and empowering all colleagues to be able to make a change.
SDG 17 PARTNERSHIPS Nobody can do this alone. We need partnerships at a global, national and local level to be able to implement the SDGs. This means we need to educate as many people as possible on, what the SDGs are and why we need to implement them.

Our KidsSDGs programme is aimed at giving the next generation of leaders the best start on their sustainability journey
SDGS FOR ORGANISATIONS
Engage and educate all colleagues of your business on how they can play their part in achieving the SDGs
KIDS SDGS Our KidsSDGs programme educates the next generation of leaders to ensure the vision of a sustainable future becomes a reality
GO GOALS! Developed by the team at the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC), we have collaborated to embed Go Goals! into our KidsSDGs programme for added engagement
Businesses are uniquely placed to be able to change their activities to have a positive impact on the planet as well as achieving commercial success. However, with problems as big as climate change or no poverty, it can be difficult to know how one person can make a change. The Sustainability Academy will show you how to make that change. TESTIMONIALS Our courses are aimed at engaging everyone regardless of experience. With less than 10 years to go before the SDGs need to be implemented and the need to act becoming ever more pressing, sustainability is regularly evolving. Our courses help your colleagues stay up to date with what they can do to support the SDGs and accelerate your business progress;
"I was aware of the SDG’s before and studied them at University, so I feel I already take actions daily which are focused on creating a more sustainable lifestyle, such as recycling, being aware of dietary impacts on the environment and reducing my consumption. After this introduction, I felt it highlighted that individual actions within a business and my professional life, not only my personal life also have an impact. I would consider my impact at work such as aiming to be inclusive, encourage diversity and reduce discrimination. Making sure I look after the environment I work in such as recycling and turning off plugs and being aware of the SDGs in my work and how Thames Water are helping their communities and environments. I thought the workshop was excellent."

WHAT CAN WE DO? Where do you go from here? Achieving the SDGs by 2030 requires the engagement of as many people as possible across the world. It means taking sustainability outside of sustainability departments within a company and ensuring all colleagues are aware of what they can do and how they fit in to the company's wider goals. The time to act is now not just to educate our current decision makers but also the next generation, so what steps should you take?
