District Representation

Dawson County is divided into five districts for representation on the Board of Education. Members must live in the district they represent but are elected by the county at large. Members serve four-year staggered terms with three members elected during one election and two during the next. Communities served by each district are as follows:

Board Meetings

Board of Education meetings take place twice a month, with the exception of holiday and summer months. Meetings take place in the BOE building at 28 Main Street, and members of the public are invited to attend all meetings and to address the board in accordance with the board’s procedures for public participation.
