Make it Possible General Explanation In 2001, recognizing the need to assist impoverished nations more aggressively, UN member states adopted targets to be achieved in 2015. These targets were named the Millennium Development Goals. The eight goals of this initiative were : Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; Achieve universal primary education; Promote gender equality and empower women; Reduce Child Mortality Rate; Improve maternal health; Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases; Ensure environmental sustainability; Develop a global partnership for development. We believe that youth in institutions of higher and secondary education are in an unique position to assimilate this information on Millennium Development Goals due to their constant engagement in learning. Coupled with this, as future leaders of their societies, the responsibility of change rests heavily on them. Converting these youngsters into emissaries and champions of MDGs will be a great contribution to the cause. Make !t Possible Program aims to take place in 6 European countries (Poland, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Serbia) and with it we intend to create an unique learning environment, that has been designed to enable the participants to go through a very unique and enriching learning experience. By exposing them to case studies and practical experiences guided by international university students and by offering learning opportunities (workshops, working groups, exercises) we will be promoting the development of emissaries and champions of MDGs. Interns will be working full time for the project and will visit the secondary and high schools periodically during six weeks.
