But a recent divorce caused a man to downsize into an apartment too small for his Panasonic 50-inch television. So he donated it to the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Merrimack Valley. Last week the big-screen TV was sitting in Jim Keenan's office while Gene Dion, the director of operations, figured out how to mount it on the wall in the club's computer room. “We'll use it to teach,” Keenan, the executive director, said. Fuel Training Studio, Urban Elements Not Moving Yet NEWBURYPORT – News that real estate developer Stephen Karp might build a hotel where their businesses are located did not come as a shock to two tenants who operate in the former Fitness Factory building on the corner of Merrimac and Titcomb streets. Mayor Donna Holaday disclosed last week that she and Karp, chairman of New England Development Corp., have discussed the location at 75 Merrimack Street for a long anticipated new hotel with 80 to 85 rooms. Karp, who proposed building a new hotel four years ago, has indicated he is interested in the old Fitness Factory site because the building and its large parking lot are not on the waterfront.
