In the Spirit of the Game 2014 Melbourne International Tournament

In the Spirit of the Game Melbourne International Tournament January 12th – 16th, 2014 Melbourne has the most illustrious and unique selection of golf courses of any city in the world, with an amazing cluster of 3 vintage layouts in its suburban sand-belt, all dating from the 1920's or before, many of which were designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, arguably the most influential course architect of the twentieth century. These breathtaking courses are all cut from the same cloth. Their rolling fairways are lined with gum and tea trees; the shaggy overgrown rough areas are comparable to Scottish roughs; the par 3's, when examined as a group, are perhaps the most sensational and distinguished par 3's that can be found anywhere; and the natural-looking "Melbourne bunkers" are the most beautiful we have ever seen. “Golf in Melbourne is an experience no passionate golfer should miss, the sand-belt has the makings of an utterly superb golfing holiday.“ US Golf Travel Guide to the World's Greatest Golf Destinations

This is a marvellously laid out course which will leave a lasting impression. Golf Clubs & Course Overview Royal Melbourne Royal Melbourne's two courses, the East Course and the West Course, are each ranked amongst the best in the world. Royal Melbourne has hosted numerous national and international events, most famously the 1959 Canada Cup, and the 1970 World Cup. It was selected by the PGA Tour to hold the Presidents Cup for the first time outside the United States in December 1998. The Club hosted the Presidents Cup in 2011.

Kingston Heath Golf Club Kingston Heath Golf Club is not only one of Australia's, but also one of the world's leading golf clubs. The 18 holes were built on only 50 hectares (most courses in the modern era are built on over 100 hectares), it is perfectly manicured and its bunkering and clever use of dips and hollows visually fools the non observant golfer. If you wildly deviate from the fairway, the rough (comprising long grass, tea- tree and sandy scrapes) will test your ability to get the ball back into play.

Victoria Golf Club The Victoria Golf Club is acclaimed by golfers the world over for its fine hospitality and superb world championship course. Situated in the heart of Melbourne's rolling sandbelt country, in the beach side suburb of Cheltenham, it offers a sporting experience on par with the worlds best. The beautifully landscaped par 72 course is designed to challenge both the amateur and professional golfer
