Spring City & Stone Forest
Spring City & Stone Forest Over the last decade as golf has taken off in China, the 2 courses at Spring City in Kunming - The Lake and the Mountain courses - have been rated as the best in China. Now Kunming has the truly amazing golf courses at Stone Forest. We recently spent 4 days in this area playing the 3 golf courses and sightseeing - it was one of the best few days of golfing holiday available anywhere in the world! For those who have not been to China before we recommend to consider starting in Beijing and take in the ancient wonders of the Great Wall, Summer Palace and the Forbidden City.

Course & Accommodation Overview Lake Course, Spring City Robert Trent Jones – With The Lake course RTJ Jnr has created one of the most picturesque courses in the world. Spring City has become one of the great golf resorts in the Asia Pacific region, and is a golfing experience that capitalises on the existing features of the property while taking advantage of the other elements, such as the dramatic view, changes in elevation, and expansive nature of the site.
Mountain Course, Spring City Jack Nicklaus wanted to design a course that complements the area's climate, enabling golfers to enjoy its splendour all year round. Spring City utilises the natural undulations of the terrain, maximising the golf strategy with the challenges of side-hill lies and elevated greens and tees. They will also enjoy a course framed by native pines and rocky out-crops and picturesque views of the mountains
Stoneforest International Country Club Stoneforest is a three-course complex from Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley. The A course is the championship test at Stone Forest, the layout is a strong, bruising examination of your ability to hit long, straight shots whilst avoiding the stone and rock. Like the C Course, the bunkers here are filled with grey sand, used by architect Brian Curley to ensure the hazards do not overwhelm the scenic beauty of the size-able stone formations. Conditioning is impressive across the facility with Bentgrass tees, greens and fairways providing an exceptional playing surface most of the year.
