Michael Augustus, an excellent small engine and motorbike mechanic, was also an avid motorbike builder, and rider. In addition to his regular employment at City Markets for the greatest part of his life, he operated a small home-based business repairing lawnmowers, small home appliances, and eventually small engines and motorcycles.
He founded the prestigious motorcycle group, “Friends of Distinction”, and they hosted and took part in several rides on New Providence and Abaco, Bahamas, in addition to several U.S. states, in order to raise funds for various charities. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and all genres of music.
Michael was predeceased in death by his wife of 60 years: Gloria Prescola Burrows; his parents: Effie (Darville) and Michael Anderson Burrows, siblings, Roscoe, Wilfred, Oscar, Roland, Stella and Lucy Burrows; Mary Neymour and Annie Knowles.
