Skip passed away peacefully at his home on Fox Hill Creek in Nassau surrounded by his children & loving caregivers on August 8th, 2023.

He was predeceased by his wife Elsie ‘Jean’ Albury Wrinkle and Grandson Tyler S. Wrinkle.

He is survived by his daughters: Claudia J Hilton & Patricia Carol Wrinkle; Sons: Don (Peggy), Stephen (Gail) & Timothy Wrinkle; Grand Children: Mark & Micheal Hilton. Vanessa (Danny) Dumanowsky

of 7B Boyd Road will be held on Friday, August 18th, 2023, 11:00am at Our Lady’s of The Holy Souls Catholic Church, Deveaux Street off East and Market Street. a resident of Ferguson Street, Fox Hill, died at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Saturday, 12th August, 2023.

Gospel artist Mr J launches anti-crime campaign, “Too Much Man Dead”

Mr J is once again taking his music ministry into the community in an effort to denounce violence and promote a message of peace and love.

The artist, who has been very vocal over the years when it comes to his stance against violence, has launched the “Too Much Man Dead” anti-crime campaign.

It was officially launched last weekend in the Kennedy Subdivision of New Providence.

The focus of the campaign is to promote a message of love, selfcontrol, peaceful conflict resolution and non-violence towards others.

While Mr J and his team faced numerous logistical issues as well as challenges due to the weather, they were determined to launch the campaign, which they

deem to be vital to the community.

“The campaign was launched due to the overwhelming number of violent crimes and murders this country has been experiencing. Innocent victims caught in the crossfire is a stark reminder that it could be any one of us at any given time,” he said. With the influence he has as a gospel artist, he told Tribune Weekend, he could not just stand idly by and do nothing.

“There is a saying that says evil prevails when good men do nothing. In order for any societal ailment be healed, we as a society and a community of people must be willing and ready to be counted among those who desire a change,” he said.

“This campaign is to highlight more awareness and concern that we must have. It is a challenge and a call to action to society to say something and do something legally and useful in all wisdom to help

reduce crime. This is very necessary and important. Crime is constantly getting out of control.”

The Simple Life Church, an online ministry based in Canada, partnered with Mr J for the initiative, alongside Christlike Productions, a local gospel music label.

Members from various church ministries were also a part of the programme and took part in the walkabouts that were carried out in the community prior to the campaign launch last Saturday.

Speaking to Tribune Religion, several Christian readers said that since you’re on your phone anyway, why not take advantage of Bible and devotional apps to help you build your faith in God.

IS DRESSING MODESTLY IMPORTANT TO THE YOUNG CHRISTIAN WOMAN?

MANY young Christian woman struggle with how they should dress and just how modest their wardrobe should be.

It is a never-ending and heated debate, with some saying that as Christians, young women need to ensure that their bodies (aka the temple of the Lord) are always covered, while less conservative types feel that God looks at the heart and not the wardrobe.

American actress and Natasha Bure, who is also the daughter of former “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure (“DJ Tanner”), recently posted about her own struggle with dressing modestly when she was asked about her take on the subject by one of her followers.

She explained that her views have changed in the past year and that she is now making a conscious effort to show less skin than before.

“A year or two ago, I dressed completely different

and showed way more of my body than I ever needed to.

I’ll look back at old photos and think *shocked emojis*. “A lot of that came from when I was finding my worth and thinking that showing more skin was more attractive. I actually think the opposite now,” she wrote. “I think dressing classy and upholding modesty is so beautiful. I'll actually feel myself 100 times more and I am so much more confident in outfits that show less skin. I still want to dress stylishly and keep up with the trends, but I don’t ever want to compromise my values. I want my words and how I present myself to match.”

It is a sentiment many other young Christian women agree with.

‘I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for

“To me, that means that you have to be careful about what you present to the world.”

Vicky added, “To me, it just makes sense to respect myself and my values. I am not doing it for anyone else or because my pastor told us dress a certain way; I am doing it because I feel that it is what God wants me to do. I feel it is a way to show my respect to God that I dress and act ladylike and carry myself like I am the daughter of the King of Kings.”

Nikki said it's important for her to carry herself in a “conservative” way.

“You know as a Christian, I don’t want anyone to doubt my faith or my love for God. I don’t want people to see me and say, ‘Well, she claim she is a Christian, but she don’t dress like she is.’ But I do want them to see that hey you can be conservative, not show all your body parts, but still look attractive,” she said.

A US nurse who was released by kidnappers in Haiti last week says a Christian song called “See a Victory” became her battle cry after she and her young daughter were abducted. Alix Dorsainvil and her child were freed last Wednesday, nearly two weeks after they were snatched at gunpoint from the campus of a Christian-run school near Port-au-Prince.

El Roi Haiti, the Christian aid organisation founded by Dorsainvil’s husband, said Thursday the pair were not harmed and are healthy. On Saturday, the group posted a message from Dorsainvil on its website.

“I am completely humbled by the outpouring of support and prayer for myself and my sweet baby both during and following our time in captivity,” said Dorsainvil, who is from New Hampshire.
