As the country is still celebrating its golden jubilee year, members of the Bahamas in Prophecy association will host its “March to Glory” on Sunday, September 24.
The event will begin with a march from Clifford Park to Bay Street, then on to Parliament and Shirley Streets before returning to Clifford Park.
Once the procession returns to the Western Esplanade, the Day of Atonement prayer segment will begin.
“In its quest to unveil the prophetic history of our nation in celebration of the 50th anniversary (of Independence), the Bahamas in Prophecy Group is calling on the Bahamas government, the official opposition, the Bahamas Christian Council, civil
society and the Bahamian people to embrace the prophetic history, purpose and plan of God for our nation,” said Pastor Micklyn Seymour, founder of the Bahamas in Prophecy group.
Those attending the “March the Glory” event, he said, will be provided with an opportunity to offer prayer, praise and thanksgiving to the Almighty for where He has brought the country from.
“He will place the nation on a road that will lead unto Him while becoming the most, wealthiest and proper sours little nation on the face of the earth. Under the banner, ‘One Family, One Nation, One Bahamas’, the nation is invited to join in,” said Pastor Seymour.
The event, described as a national day of prayer and fasting, will take place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism and Samaritanism.
“It is indeed the will of the Almighty God for the nation to stop and consider why the golden jubilee anniversary celebrations were aligned with the most holy day of Yom Kippur,” said Pastor Seymour.
He said Bahamas in Prophecy Group is also calling on the government to commemorate the 50th anniversary by mounting a giant statue of Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling, the ‘father of the nation’, at the Independence Drive and East Street roundabout.
“This statue would serve as the embodiment of all of what the founding fathers and mothers of this nation fought for from both political divides,” said Pastor Seymour.
“A stone plaque can be erected with the names of independence fighters at the roundabout. Generations of Bahamians will be reminded on a daily basis of the struggle for independence. The location is an ideal spot as it is in the middle of New Providence. During the night and daytime, it could also be seen as a tourist attraction,” he added.
Pastor Seymour has also recently published a book entitled “The Islands of the Bahamas in Bible Prophecy”.
He describes it as “the unveiling of God’s redemptive purpose and plans for the islands of the Bahamas and its impact upon the nations of the world.”
“The revelation of secret mysteries unveiled in the pages of this prophetic book embody the potential to change the history of the world,” he said.
AS A part of its ongoing outreach community work, the pastor, officers and members of Nassau’s First Baptist Church held their second annual backto-school giveaway event last Saturday on the church grounds, located on Market Street and Coconut Grove Avenue.
Led by Pastor Rev Dr Diana Francis and chairpersons Brother Gregory Smith and Dr Ismae Whyms, the event saw more than 280 children and their parents from the Coconut Grove Community come out to receive backpacks, writing materials, notebooks, rulers and more.
The event, which is aimed at fostering a more meaningfully partnership within the community, also fed over 300 individuals with meals and treats. Numerous children received free haircuts and hair braiding before they returned to the classrooms. There was also a bouncing castle for the children,
and music provided by Minister Corey “DJ Counselor” Rolle.
According to Chairs Mr Smith and Dr Whyms, the initiative was well-received by the residents, who were appreciative of the generosity shown by the church and its members. The church is continuing its efforts to ensuring that, while sharing the gospel of Christ with the community, the whole person is replenished.
Pastor Francis commended the work by the committee and church members and other sponsors, who all came together to collect donations and gave of their time, which was vital to the success of this back-to-school venture. She said she remains prayerful that students can return to school equipped and focused and that the Lord will continue to guide their steps towards a fruitful year.

POPE Francis last week warned against the danger of reducing human relationships to “mere algorithms” and urged lawmakers to be vigilant against “partisan” propaganda and divisiveness on social media.
In a speech to participants of the International Catholic Legislators Network, who were holding their annual conference in the Rome area, Francis noted that social media networks can be a way to help people realise they are part of something larger than themselves.
“Indeed, that is the stated aim of many social media platforms, and certainly much good takes place through these means of communication,” Francis said.
Still, the pontiff said, vigilance was needed, “for sadly many dehumanizing trends resulting from technocracy are found on these media.” He cited the deliberate spread of false information about people, fake news and the promotion of hatred and division. Francis further decried what he called “partisan propaganda and the reduction of human relationships to mere algorithms.” Another peril on social media networks is “a false sense of belonging, especially among young people, that can lead to isolation and loneliness,” he said. As a remedy, Francis advocated a “culture of authentic encounter, which involves a radical call to respect and to listen to one another, including those with whom we may strongly disagree.”
