The Ceremony What will you choose? Say ‘I do‘ in our beautiful country garden using the path beneath the wisteria-clad pergola as your aisle or savour the delights of tying the knot in one of our two restored barns. The main barn and The Cowshed are both steeped in history and so wonderfully English.
Both are filled with natural light, ouze character and are awash with tiny fairy lights. It’s your venue for the day - spoil yourself!

Self-carve, fish and chips, table top picnic or five course formal banquet - whatever takes your fancy. We cater for all tastes. The food is delivered through an established and knowledgeable team with an extensive list of vibrant and seasonally changing menus on offer. The Tythe Barn and JOFF - as we like to call them will never compromise on quality. We take the best raw ingredients and then develop and deliver the tastiest menus through working with Jamie and his team of talented chefs. The styling of the catering can be played up or down to suit your needs and the potential for additional theatre,
Tuck In entertainment and celebration are endless. We can seat from 40 to 160 guests in the main barn and offer more intimate dining in our adjoining Cowshed. We are a dedicated and close-knit team who provide you with on-going support. The planning and advice given at The Tythe barn comes with an in-depth knowledge and expertise and we offer a comprehensive list of highly recommended service providers who are all very familiar with the barn.

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY AND MAKE THE NIGHT YOUR OWN! THE MAIN BARN IS EQUIPPED TO CATER TO EVERYONE’S TASTES FROM THE TRADITIONAL TO THE MORE SPECIALISED. YOU CAN CEILIDH, DISCO, ROCK AND ROLL OR RAVE. OUR BARN IS 14TH CENTURY AND WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT YET WE EMBRACE TODAY’S TECHNOLOGY SO, DISCREETLY TUCKED AWAY, ARE IPOD DOCKS, LAZERS AND A HIGH TECH SOUND SYSTEM WHICH ALLOWS FOR GREATER FREEDOM OF CHOICE TAKE TIME OUT - THE COWSHED Retreat to our adjoining Cowshed for feet up time with friends, a super duper cocktail or a fresh pizza from the wood-fired oven. Cosy up by our woodburner with tea or coffee, served on the manger post Wedding Breakfast or satisfy late evening munchies with a bite to eat from the supper menu. An extension of the main barn, this old Cowshed has a real personality of it’s own!
COCKTAILS IN THE COWSHED
The Hut - A magical place that’s charming, private and tucked away yet provides the perfect, romantic setting in which to escape. The Hut, at The Tythe Barn, is more ‘shaggy sheep’ than the more fashionable shabby chic but it is filled with all of the creature comforts you would expect for a luxurious stay. The style is very much inspired by the past and harks back to it’s origins using traditional materials such as wood, copper and tin. Reluctant as we are to give up our modern creature comforts however – the wood burning
stove sits alongside under-floor heating and the design of The Hut paid careful consideration to the desires of modern day living installing electric power sockets, lighting, a small fridge and hob, a flushing toilet, an en-suite shower room, fitted kitchen and a super comfortable double bed. These are the things that we all now take for granted but you might not expect to find some of the little extras that have been included. Beautiful bed linen, luxurious towels, dressing gowns, the woodburner and logs, folding dining table and chairs, shelf for your iPod,
antique copper kettle and mugs, hooks and hangers for your next day’s outfit, sheepskin rugs and wonderfully soft faux sheepskin cushions, shampoo, shower gel and much, much more. Guaranteed, The Hut’s not big, but imagine the fun had trying to plan for every practicality. Imaginative and clever design ensured that there’s a place for everything and that everything has its place. There’s even a special place to put your wedding dress / groom’s suit! Compact and bijoux but you won’t want for anything.
