PROFILE

Name Trent Dyer, 29 Occupation Financial services assistant Maximum budget £200,000 Requirements A one bedroom home a short distance from Docklands in east London – preferably Greenwich or Deptford. A balcony or shared terrace, along with good local amenities are a must

What he wanted…

I work in nancial services in Docklands. Though I sometimes work from home, it’s very much an in-of ce job and I love it! I live with my parents in Peckham, south east London, and really want my own place. I don’t want to move too far from my family and friends but also want to be close to work as I often work long hours. The ideal place for me would be Greenwich or Deptford, which are just over the river from work. I am looking for a one bedroom apartment with a balcony in a good development with a nice community. I’m a social guy, so I like to be close to places where I can meet up with friends, and have some good places to explore close by. Transport links are also pretty important – I need to be close to DLR links to the Docklands so I can get into work quickly. I have a deposit of £15,000 and an overall budget of around £200,000.”

What we found…

What he thought…

This isn’t an area I know that well at all, despite having some relatives close by. It’s an interesting proposition, as I know there’s a great deal of regeneration and renewal in the area, which is always a good sign. I also know that Charlton Village is very popular with locals – my cousins are always going there at weekends – and it sounds like a nice alternative to Greenwich. The properties are super stylish – I am particularly impressed with the kitchens and vast glass balconies – I can really see myself chilling out and with friends here.” If I moved here I’d never be late for work, that’s for sure – I could cycle there in around 10 minutes, which would be amazing. I should think there are some really special views – especially from the communal gardens. I’ve always loved the idea of a roof terrace; it would be great to have additional outdoor space, as well as the opportunity to get to know the neighbours. This is a super location but I think I’d like to be just that little bit further away from work so that I can separate my working and non-working lives!”

This certainly looks like a lively and convenient location – so close to the station, the market, a great local pub and the creek. I know that this would be a really fun and interesting place to live, and it would be super exciting to have such great options for entertainment in Deptford, Greenwich or close by every day and night of the week. The building is stylish and in keeping with the area, and the interiors are smart and modern, with the balcony and contemporary ooring, which is the kind of thing I go for. There’s certainly lots to like here!” I’ve been coming to Deptford since I was a kid. It’s changed quite a lot, with so many new homes and things, but some of the best parts of the area – including the market – will just never change. There’s a lot of character to this part of town and it’s also in such a great spot for getting around south London and over to east London. These apartments are pretty stylish – I really like the natural light brought in by the oor-to-ceiling windows, as well as the iron balconies – it’s all really classy. The views over the area look extremely good too.” These apartments are really well located for me and for everything I love about south east London. Both Deptford and Greenwich are close at hand, with some really great options for enjoying evenings and weekends out and about. My friends and family would love visiting me here. Travelling around the area and into work will be simple, and getting out of London for weekends away with family in Kent and Surrey will be super easy, too. The apartments are smart and spacious, with great styling. It’s quite a small development, which, to me, gives it more a boutique feel. It’s a no-brainer for me.”

THE NEXT STEP

“I really don’t want to hang around with this; I love the apartments, location and price. Shared ownership is a real winner for me – meaning I can get a great new home within my budget. I already have a mortgage in principle and am ready to view the development as soon as possible!”
