The broad scope and thought-provoking content enables you to discover and develop your areas of interest. ANTHROPOLOGY

IF YOU ENJOY DELVING INTO THE BARE BONES OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN, THEN ANTHROPOLOGY AT WINCHESTER IS IDEAL FOR YOU. Through the lens of social anthropology, biological anthropology and archaeology/material culture, you will embark on a fascinating exploration of human behaviours from both the past and present. You can get up close and hands-on with a range of materials, from primate skeletons to religious relics, in our cutting-edge departmental laboratory. You also have the opportunity to undertake a work placement in Year 3 and participate in rewarding field research locally or further afield with academics working in Barbados, Georgia or other established projects. CLASSICAL STUDIES AND MEDIEVAL STUDIES

EXPLORE THE RICH HERITAGE OF CLASSICAL CULTURE OR OUR ANCIENT WORLDS THROUGH A BROAD RANGE OF THEMES AND PERIODS. Classical Studies is a multidisciplinary course exploring elements of history, drama, literature, art history and archaeology. You will gain perspective on patterns of change and continuity as well as an understanding of the influence of Classical thought on wider political, economic, social and intellectual trends – all of which can be applied to a wide range of careers. Take advantage of field trips and volunteer placement opportunities in the heritage sector. If you’re seeking a more medieval focus, our Medieval History or Ancient, Classical and Medieval Studies (ACMS) courses might be for you. ACMS draws upon both history and archaeology, and you can embrace excavation and fieldwork opportunities in the UK and abroad. VIEW THE WORLD IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT WHEN YOU EMBARK ON OUR DYNAMIC ACCREDITED GEOGRAPHY DEGREE. Using an integrated human and physical geography perspective, you examine some of the most pressing issues facing the planet in the twenty-first century. From local challenges to global issues such as population growth, resource shortages, geopolitical instability and climate change – there’s a whole world to explore. PHYSIOTHERAPY

LEARN HOW TO OPTIMISE PEOPLE’S WELLBEING AND HELP THEM REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL THROUGH EXERCISE, EDUCATION AND MANUAL THERAPY. You will explore the science behind the practice of physiotherapy and develop the clinical reasoning, practical skills and confidence you need to work in this hands-on, stimulating and rewarding profession. Our course was developed in collaboration with clinical staff, including the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Professional practice placements provide the opportunity to bring your learning to life through patient-focused clinical experience and working alongside experienced practitioners. While gaining real insights from experts, you are able to develop your own individual strengths and attributes in a supportive and stimulating environment. Successful completion of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course provides eligibility to apply to register as a physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS All our courses require you to have a minimum of a Grade 4/C in GCSE English Language or a suitable equivalent qualification. We require all international undergraduate applicants to have a minimum of IELTS 6.0 (including 5.5 in academic writing) or equivalent. There are some courses which require higher IELTS – please see the relevant symbol below. We offer foundation and short pre-sessional programmes to improve your English language skills prior to arrival, as well as in-sessional support alongside your main course of study. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS In addition to our English Language requirements and the UCAS tariff points listed for each course, some of our courses have specific subject or work experience requirements shown by the symbols below. INTERVIEWS/AUDITIONS A number of our courses require you to attend an interview or audition as part of the application process and these are identified in the table below with a ❋ ✳ . If you are shortlisted for interview or audition, we will send you information about the format of the day, what to bring and where to go. For most courses, except Physiotherapy, Nursing or Social Work, we are able to offer interviews via Skype or similar technology, to applicants who live outside the UK.
