A Letter from our President
Welcome to the future! The year 2020 illustrated the importance of STEAM — medicine, research, virtual communication, vaccines, logistics etc. It is exhilarating to begin to see the impact the incredible new Technology Suite — the Innovation Hub along with a drop-in room for ongoing project work — is having on Ursuline students. The world is counting on future generations to create, invent, collaborate and communicate. The Ursuline mission is vital and, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of many loyal supporters to the Innovation Campaign, Ursuline students now have an additional 8,500 square feet of learning and social spaces to keep changing the world.
I am also incredibly grateful to the many donors who supported the Annual Fund last year which totaled $945,673. Your contributions were needed more than ever. Whether your gift was restricted to our COVID Assistance Fund (which helped absorb some of the enormous and unexpected costs due to the pandemic) or to scholarship (always a priority), or an unrestricted donation which allowed us to use it where it was most needed, you made a difference! With each solicitation we assure our community that every single gift counts, regardless of amount. Never has this been more true.
As I am retiring in June 2021 and this is my final Annual Donor Report letter as President, I am overcome thinking about how responsive you have been to my requests for support. You have enabled The Ursuline School to be a source of inspiration and empowerment for our students. I am reminded of the words of St. Angela Merici, “Cultivate the vine entrusted to you,” and realize that your generous support has enabled us to do just that for Ursuline students over the years.
Thank you for helping Ursuline, our beloved school, continue to lead the way in girls’ education.
