THE URSULINE SCHOOL
Educate | Inspire | Empower
Guided by our Catholic faith and the spirit of St. Angela Merici, The Ursuline School educates, inspires and empowers young women to become wise, active, globally-minded leaders by cultivating lifelong learning, spiritual growth, integrity, respect for all and dedication to Serviam – “I will serve”
WELCOME At Ursuline, we celebrate the whole student. That means 21st century learning takes many forms so that all students have educational experiences preparing them to be effective lifelong learners and contributors to society. A peek into our learning spaces shows students demonstrating their skills: middle school students programming Edison robots in our Innovation Hub; High School Global Scholars presenting their Capstone Project; students of the Model United Nations Club in the HighTech Media Conference Center preparing to compete in a regional tournament. Our innovative programs help students to imagine and grow their understanding of themselves, their world, and the future. In our growth mindset culture, Ursuline students come to recognize that their abilities are not fixed; that they can train their brains with practice. Our unique Personal Development Program aims to help our students become more confident, articulate and empowered leaders. Whether learning to navigate friendships or developing resilience, students become prepared for the world beyond the Ursuline campus. Guided by our Catholic faith, we inspire students to act with compassion and provide opportunities for them to actively participate in daily prayer and school wide liturgies. Each year, students participate in grade level retreats led by Peer Ministers. Ursuline students learn to create change in the world around them through service and social justice projects. We are dedicated to helping students find their voice, and to follow their path. Faculty and staff encourage Ursuline students to discover their interests and meet other students who share the same passions whether in the arts, athletics, clubs, or service. In our approach to educating young women, we are guided by our mission. Core values and relationships connect us as a school community – students, parents, alumnae, and Ursuline sister schools around the world. I hope that you will find Ursuline as full of exciting possibilities and excellence as I do. Dr. Colleen Melnyk President

Ursuline students develop multicultural perspectives and global mindset, inspired to create positive change in our interconnected world. Our Global Education program strengthens student’s critical thinking skills, global competencies and fosters empathy, enabling students to understand that the world’s issues are our shared issues. Each year, Ursuline explores a world issue of concern across disciplines through our signature Global Symposium. Prior school wide Global Symposium topics have included: food insecurity, ethical fashion, water scarcity, global displacement and menstrual equity. We offer students curriculum-based and cultural travel programs, and exchanges with our Ursuline “sister” schools around the world. Ursuline offers its independent study, Global Scholars Program, that requires a Global Concerns elective, four years of a high school language, culminating with a scholarly Capstone Research project in senior year.
