Legion. The American Legion riders were formed: To participate in parades and ceremonies that are helping with the aims and purpose of the American Legion. To promote motorcycle safety programs and to provide a social atmosphere for American Legion Members who share the same interest, to use our association to promote and support programs of the American Legion. We are not a motorcycle club and do not practice motorcycle club rules or regulations. The American Legion Riders are family oriented just as its parent organization, the American Legion. Lewisburg 10/14 October 3-March 3: The Penn State Extension Master Gardener program provides interested individuals with extensive training in many phases of gardening. In return, participants volunteer to teach horticultural information to the public based on university research and recommendations. Participants meet weekly on Thursday evenings in Mifflinburg from 6-9pm, from October 3rd to March 3rd (with breaks for academic and religious holidays). Penn State Professors, Extension Educators, and Master Gardeners present on specific topics, including vegetable gardening, native plants, grass and lawn care, fruit trees and much more. The fee for the Penn State Extension Master Gardener Basic Training is $200, and includes a copy of

the award-winning Penn State Master Gardener Manual. “I came into this class knowing a fair amount about gardening, especially native plants and organic vegetable gardening, so I thought this would be a refresher course for me. Not only did I learn new things about topics I thought I knew well, but I also learned about horticultural areas of interest I had yet to explore. We began the course with a solid plant biology lesson, which was the framework for the remainder of our studies. I especially enjoyed the classes on fruit trees, ornamental plants/landscaping, and indoor plants. Besides the classroom knowledge, I encountered a wide network of professional educators and learned of many online and print resources.” says Jen Schneidman Partica, Master Gardener Apprentice from the 2018-19 Penn State Extension Master Gardener Basic Training Course. Application form and payment are due by September 21st. Applications are available at: Penn State Extension, 343 Chestnut Street, 2nd Fl., Mifflinburg, PA17844, 570-556-4757. Oktoberfest Mifflinburg October 5: Cornhole Competition at Cherokee Tap Room & Grill: How does a One-Day Cornhole Competition sound to you?! We will be hosting one on Saturday, October 5th starting at 3pm! Cost will be $30 per 2-person team. We will be having Rep Don from New Trail here with goodies! There will be beer to purchase outside while playing. Order food from the restaurant. First can of beer will be included in the entry fee. Prizes: 1st place - $150, 2nd place - $100, 3rd place - $50. Cornhall Tourney at Cherokee Elysburg October 12: Woolly Worm Bike Rodeo from 1 to 3pm, Hufnagle Park, upper parking lot, Lewisburg. Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg will be running a bike rodeo in the upper parking lot of Hufnagle Park during the Lewisburg Fall Festival (the one where the Woolly Worm Winter Weather Prognostication will make its stupendous come-back) on Saturday, October 12. The festival will run from noon to 5pm. The bike rodeo will be from 1 to 3pm. The bike rodeo is a free kids’ activity focusing on bike skills and safety education, but also with some opportunities for adults. Helmets are required. Stations will include bike safety check, slalom, quick braking, helmet fitting, road safety trivia, steering skills, and slow race. We will also have a wheelchair skills activity option so that people can get a sense of the types of barriers and challenges

wheelchair users frequently face in the public realm. Local kids (or really anyone) are welcome to come and test their cycling prowess. Kids who may be visiting the area with their families on the occasion of the unPAved of the Susqeuhanna River Valley event are also welcome. There will be several childrens’ bikes and helmets of different sizes available — courtesy of Earl’s Bicycle Store — as loaners if someone doesn’t have their wheels with them. The helmet fitting station will be run by the Evangelical Community Hospital Community Health and Wellness Department. Participants will visit the fitting station to make sure their helmet straps are properly adjusted and the entire assembly is well-fit to their heads. Bring your helmets ready to be checked! The Bike Rodeo is Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg’s way of celebrating National Walk to School Day, which takes place each fall and spring around the country. The other parts of the day’s festivities in the park will feature a Woolly Worm petting zoo thanks to the Lewisburg Children’s Museum, food vendors, crafters, wine and beer, bicycle industry reps on hand for unPAved, and race packet pickup. Participants in the rodeo will have to wear a helmet and sign a waiver, but there is no entry fee to take part. I thought hearing aids were much more expensive than what they were. Jennifer took the time with me to make sure I got what I needed and that I understood what I got. I wish I had done this sooner, or at least checked into it. My hearing aids sound amazing. I like to listen to music again and I can hear at work. Artisan has the most up to date equipment, I have been to other places and I know what they do, and their is a difference with the use of the equipment and I know. Jennifer’s level of professionalism is like no other. - Karl Seyler

I have been Jennifer’s patient for 6 years now. I just bought the brand new rechargeable digital wireless hearing aids from her. I just love the cell phone app. The sound is so clear and I am hearing even better then I did with the first pair I purchased from her. And I can hear very well in background noise. My insurance even helped cover the cost of the hearing aids. The warm welcoming feeling and wonderful customer service Jen has provided for years is the reason I would never go anywhere else! - Jim Miller
