Last year’s statistics show that 89.85% of the females sitting attained the required standard, while 78.11% of the males did likewise. This has prompted a question from at least one political party — the Unity Labour Party — to wit: ‘How do we get our male students to improve their results at the CPEA examinations?’ In terms of perfect (100%) scores in each of the subject areas tested, six students attained 100% in Mathematics, one in Science and one in language. THE 2017 CARIBBEAN Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) results show an increase in the percentage of students who met the prescribed standard. A release from the Ministry of Education, dated June 9, disclosed that 1,398 students, representing 85.35%, met the required standard in 2017, compared to 1,498, representing 83.87% in 2016.
