THE VIGILANCE of Corporal 403 Nigel John of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) last week Tuesday, may have prevented another gun-related crime in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Corporal John’s action led to the seizure of a semi-automatic firearm, and the sentencing of 28year-old Evander ‘Skull’ Myers of Vermont to five years and six months in prison. Myers was jailed after pleading guilty, Friday 21st February, of having in his possession a Spikers Tactical Apopka AR15 rifle, a lightweight semi-automatic rifle that is a prohibited weapon, and without the authorization of the minister.
