REGISTER NOW The announcement of the date for the Referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union has triggered a surge in the numbers of British expats wanting to register to vote. Latest figures show thousands of British nationals who live overseas are now going to www.gov.uk/register-tovote in order to be able to have their say on 23 June. The average daily rate of online registrations by Britons abroad has quadrupled from an average of just over 600 per day before the announcement of the referendum date last weekend, to more than 2600 per day since then. The Electoral Commission has launched a global campaign to encourage an estimated five million Britons living overseas to check their eligibility to vote ahead of the referendum on EU membership. The Foreign Office is supporting the campaign overseas, including in Spain. The British Ambassador Simon Manley, visiting Malaga on Tuesday (23 February), said: “Whether you think the UK should remain in or leave the EU, the 23rd of June will be your chance to have your say. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the British people to decide.

“You might be asking yourself, why bother to vote? Although you may now live in Spain, most expats still have strong ties with the UK – financial, family, friends. You may also decide to return one day. So you very probably do have a stake in the outcome and how it may affect your life. I strongly encourage you to register to vote – just go online and follow the simple process.” If you have been on the UK electoral roll within the last 15 years, you are eligible to vote. Former residents of England, Scotland and Wales can quickly register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you last lived in Northern Ireland then you need to download an overseas voter application form from the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland, at www.eoni.org.uk. If you choose to vote by post, ballot forms will be despatched about one month ahead, giving you time to receive, complete and return your vote. 5. If you were last registered to vote in Northern Ireland, download an overseas voter application form from the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland, at www.eoni.org.uk. You can choose to vote by proxy or in person, but not by post. 6. Do register now, don't wait until the last minute and miss the deadline. Thousands of expatriates are already doing signing up. BEACH WEDDING BOOM EXPECTED IN LA MANGA The new regulations dramatically cut down on the paperwork process and make the obtaining of marriage licenses a much simpler affair. Previously due to the extensive, time consuming and costly paper work process only a few venues endeavored to promote this side of tourism but thanks to the new regulations, the options for couples wishing to get married on the beach in La Manga will be plentiful. The number of couples who choose to get married on the beaches in La Manga is expected to increase dramatically following the passing of new regulations that make the “tying the knot” process on the beach a lot easier.
The tourism department in Murcia will actively promote the area as a choice for wedding venues as will many of the establishments who will be offering this service.

"We can't thank the police and council enough for stepping in to make sure that this horse was kept safe."
When found on December 11, the horse was so thin he was labelled a "walking skeleton". Police immediately seized the horse from a property near the San Luis salt lake in Spain's Alicante province, in a joint operation between the Torrevieja Council and the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre. But last month (February), the alleged owners arrived at the Rojales rescue centre with a Ford transit van, saying they had come to collect the horse. Rescue centre co-founder Rod Weeding promptly called the Rojales council, which sent several police officers to the scene. "Police told these people that they weren't allowed to take the horse without the correct paperwork, and that they certainly couldn't take him away in a Ford transit van," centre co-founder Sue Weeding said. "We are determined that this horse not be

The wonder of unicorns One of the greatest gifts you have in this life is to connect with your magnificent Unicorn
ABOUT UNICORNS Unicorns are fully of the angelic realms and live in the seventh dimension, the seventh heaven, and they are aspect of the divine, the same way that angels are. They are white horses which have ascended into the higher dimensions and just like humans, horse reincarnate until they become perfected beings. In their case, they return to Earth again and again to learn their lessons, until they become white horses and can ascend in a blaze of light..then they will work with us in their spiritual bodies as unicorns. While angels work through the heart, unicorns work with the soul Angels help and guide their human charges in all sorts of ways. They smooth our paths and respond to requests as long as they are for the highest good. They guard and protect those in their care and whisper higher choices to them. Their wings unfold, comfort and surround their charges. The great ascended horses on the other hand look for those who radiate a light and have a vision beyond theirselves. They seek people who aspire to help others and to change the world for the better, even of it is just their small corner of it. The light of the unicorn is so powerful that it enters people gradually, in waves, only as ever as much as an individual can cope with at any time. They help you to hold your vision and give your courage and faith to continue in the face of challenges and opposition. They strengthen and steady you so that you have the dignity and charisma to fight for what you believe is right. Unicorns grant wishes. Angels do this too for they grant wishes of the heart, those things that make you feel happier and lighter. Uncorns grant soul wishes, those things that satisfy you deeply and help you fulfil your pre-life contract Unicorns encourage you to hold on to your aspirations and visions,
to stand up for those ambitions that are for the highest good of all. They have the long term growth of your soul, your community and the world in mind. Clairvoyants see unicorns as shining white horses with a spiralling horn of light from their brow chakra, the chakra of enlightenment. Their horn can be likened to a magic wand, pouring out divine energy. Wherever they direct this light, healing takes place. This is not just physical and emotional healing but also soul healing. They dissolve and heal the deepest, most profound wounds of the soul which have plagued you for many lifetimes. If you are ready, the unicorns can help you clear all that karma, whether these are personal, family or country lessons. You can call on them for help. Unicorns reconnect people to their spirit. When you think about a unicorn it wakens an energy within you that aligns to the higher realms. And if you meet a unicorn in dreams or meditations, your soul in connecting to the unicorn energy and great changes take place. Behind the scenes they are inspiring you. The unicorns carry qualities of love, peace, calm, gentleness, hope, majesty, caring, magic, and mystery. They will come to you when you are ready, helping you too to develop your unicorn qualities. Of course, they work in co-operation with animals as well as angels and elementals. While they are perfectly balanced in their male and female qualities, they are considered to carry feminine energy. This is because wisdom, compassion and love are more powerful that masculine qualities. One of the greatest gifts you can have in this life is to connect with your magnificent unicorn DO YOU WANT TO MEET YOUR UNICORN...unicorns is a being of pure white light. Because it is so pure and bright, it could blind or overwhelm you, so it will always tone its energy to a level you can bear. It would never shine more light onto you than you can cope with.... DOES THAT SEEM EXCITING TO YOU? COME ALONG

Whatever happened to democracy? God forbid we ever have to live in a community where there is only one opinion which counts, as suggested by one group of writers in last weeks' letters' page! Since moving to Spain thirteen years' ago I've been appalled to learn of the level of corruption which exists in Spanish politics, at both National and Local levels, though I don't for one moment believe that the PP have exclusivity on that score; let's just say that, in recent times, allegations of corruption appear to be more rife, or perhaps they're just becoming more difficult to
HELP Friendship centre for La Marina HELP Vega Baja opened the doors of its second Friendship Centre recently at the Posh Club, La Marina. Following the success of the Centre at La Zenia which has been in existence for 12 years, two of the La Marina volunteers approached the President, Michele Masson, and suggested that a new Centre should be set up in la Marina as there were so many people living alone on the urbanisation who were in need of company and friendship. “We thought this would be a great idea and suggested that they went away to visit the La Zenia Friendship Centre to see how it was run and presumed that it would possibly be some time before we would hear back from them, but how wrong were we! We had not taken into consideration the deter-
mination of the volunteers had to replicate the idea in their own area” After canvassing the views of residents, organising a venue, volunteers and publicity, the Friendship Centre opening day finally arrived. Co-ordinator Alan Burnside said “We were absolutely delighted to see the number of people that attended on the first day and are confident that as word gets around the area, even more will join in. Many guests said how wonderful it was to have somewhere to go to get together with others which is exactly what we were aiming to achieve”. camouflage. I am no apologist for the PP but I am a fervent believer in democracy and it surely cannot be beyond the wit of those who criticize my stance to remember that we had a local election barely a year ago, the result of which delivered the present council so, contrary to what has been suggested, there must be rather a lot of people 'as blind as me' around – perhaps they're just not as vocal! I wonder, can anyone name a Council anywhere which satisfies all of its local tax payers all of the time? Everyone, everywhere can find something to complain about when it comes to their Council. Councils, like every other choice we have to make in life, are good or bad by comparison and in my experience since moving to La Marina, I've known a good deal worse. Constantly portraying Urb. La Marina as a run-down shantytown in the media does the place we live in a great disservice and is hardly the best advert for those poor souls who are struggling to sell their houses - and to think, people have the gall to say it's not political – please pull the other one! IT’S A ‘LOCAL’ VENUE FOR CLARO CLARO held another ‘Meet and Greet’ last Friday evening with an encouraging number of people attending. The venue for their 3rd such event was The LOCAL in La Florida with bar owner Derek Bertam laying on an excellent selection of tapas for those who attended the meeting. Party leader Paul Piccio said he was delighted to see a healthy number of ‘first timers’ at the gathering which included young local businessmen as well as expat retirees. He said that such events were helping the Party to build on it’s firm Orihuela Costa base and with this growing support he was very much looking forward to the challenges ahead. Details of the next ‘Meet and Greet’ function, which are held on a monthly basis by CLARO, will be announced shortly.
Policia Local praised for fire rescue Officers from Orihuela local police are being praised by their colleagues for showing the utmost bravery in entering a burning building to rescue the occupants.
A woman had passed out inside her El Escorratel home, suffering the effects of smoke inhalation and seeking refuge on the top floor. Her attempts to escape the fire made the rescue all the
more difficult, but the officers managed to rescue the victim, tending to her until the ambulance arrived to take over the medical care.
HOW TO NEGOTIATE ROUNDABOUTS If you are unsure about the correct way to negotiate roundabouts, here are some simple rules to help you enter and exit roundabouts safely and in the right lane.
APPROACHING ROUNDABOUTS It’s important to remember to give way to traffic already on the roundabout. If the roundabout is outside urban areas of towns or cities, keep right. If the roundabout is in a built-up area inside a town or city and the lanes are clearly marked, you should use the lane that best corresponds to the exit you need to take.
can be more complex. Let us see some examples. 1st EXIT RIGHT Enter roundabout keeping to right hand side lane. Stay in lane until exit is reached. Indicate and exit roundabout. CONTINUING STRAIGHT ON (e.g. 2nd EXIT STRAIGHT AHEAD) Enter roundabout keeping to right hand side lane. Stay in lane until exit is reached. Indicate prior to exit and leave roundabout.
LEAVING ROUNDABOUTS
TURNING LEFT OR CHANGING DIRECTION (e.g. 3rd OR FINAL EXIT)
This causes the most confusion amongst drivers. Which lane to choose? Why do I get beeped at if I’m in the right lane? Drivers must exit roundabouts from the right hand lane, because the only way to leave the roundabout is by turning right. This doesn’t mean we always have to enter the roundabout from the right hand lane. It depends on the exit we need to take. However this simple rule, in practice,
Enter roundabout keeping to left hand side lane. Stay in lane until you have passed the exit before your turn off, then change lane by indicating right and giving other road users sufficient time to anticipate your manoeuvre. Don’t forget that drivers circulating in the outside lanes have priority, so use your mirrors to ensure you are not blocking them as you change lanes.
We hope the information provided in this article is of interest to you.

El Rancho Bowls Club
SAN LUIS BOWLS CLUB
The weekend proved a little interesting for the club championship finals mainly caused by a strong cold wind, just a reminder of why we are all here, bringing about a couple of deferred matches until next Saturday. Of course playing finals in February will always be a risk; at what point do you defer a match, particularly when some might be scheduled for two in the day. Certainly on Sunday the wind was not as cold, but it certainly caused some consternation, as bowls went in an unplanned direction at an unforeseen speed, or could it be that our failing bodies do not behave as our equally questionable brains direct, certainly mine does not. But that is part of the game, sometimes the result is not as anticipated, but it’s always on the day and perhaps it is just a question of who can outguess a changing wind. Monday found The Pintos with a bye and the afternoon took the Broncos to Emerald Isle to play The Moonrakers, just another episode in a long learning curve. But good fun anyway, whatever the result, but we should be always aware that the home team will normally win. The broncos came away with one rink and I am sure some experience and at least one laugh. On Friday The Mustangs played host to the very strong Blues from La Siesta, on a beautiful day with a wind that was swirling and growing in strength as the match went on. The Blues played very well and half way through the match were ahead on most rinks, looking bleak for The Mustangs. But character showed through and with resolve points were fought for and won, The Mustangs pulled back to 3 rinks each by the end of play, with The Mustangs taking the overall shots by a small margin. A good show by both teams, The Blues did very well to take 3 rinks away from home, but it was a good result for The Mustangs against a strong team, playing well. Henry Ryder, Dave Haynes and Richard Lee 15-12. Ron Edwards, Jim Gracie and Jane Hamill 24-11. Carolyn Harris, John Skipper and Shirley Edwards 21-12. Maxine Wright, Malc Sykes and Rod Wright 9-17. June Whitworth, Don Darby and Stew Hamill 14-19. Barbara Jones, Keith Cunningham and Geoff Jones 17-18. By Lubbertus Who said it couldn’t get worse? Well me actually last week, but I was wrong. Of the ten names on the scorecard this week only one had appeared before the last match two weeks ago. The newbie’s really do seem to be taking over in earnest. On a crisp morning, again, but this time with a stiff breeze the society headed for the Saurines de la Torre Golf to play a 2,3,4 Stableford tournament. Saurines really is a golfer’s golf course with lots of tricky traps for the unwary so the members set off with high hopes. Maybe it was the cold wind, maybe it was the traps on the course, maybe it was just St David’s Day, and maybe the old timers cut the newbie’s just a little too much slack. All the old timers had their own reasons for not appearing on the score sheet – again! But the scores were none the less impressive. First place went to newcomer John Macleod with Mike Newton who first appeared on the score sheet last week on 40 points. 2nd place went to another newcomer, Amin Kiam with the only old-timer on the sheet this week, Robin Hanna on 39 points. Third place went to Patricia Hanna with Kevin McHale , both of whom first appeared last week on 38 points. Extra kudos needs to go to Kevin McHale who also won Hole 6. He only appeared first last week and this week he is on the sheet twice. Although kudos also needs to go to all the other hole winners this week as it is their first time on the card. Hole 10 was won by Mike Downton, Hole 14 by Tony G and Hole 18 perhaps one of the most difficult par three holes around with its tiered green went to John Macloed. All in all it was a very thoughtful retreat to the “19th hole” at the Marinasol Restaurant in Cabo Roig that evening. The Happy Days Golf Society’s next competition is on 15th March at the La Serena Golf course. New members are always welcome, especially new comers, so if you would like to join or just want to know more, then ask Steve Dixon, or any of the staff at the Marinasol Restaurant in Cabo Roig and they would be more than willing to help.

Last issue I mentioned the Hot Spot, which is on sale at Fowof, a device that gives you 24 hour WiFi anywhere; if you are looking for an Internet solution then this is it.
the person came into the shop last week to update them on her health, after being released early as she had got on so well, she asked me if I had ever thought of doing hospital visits, I declined.
It is definitely one of the star buys for Brits visiting the area; it saves going to Wi-Fi centres or renting for a year, which makes it ideal for short stays. It will also work in the UK and anywhere else in Europe using a prepaid sim card from the country where you are. If you only want Internet access to check emails then 15€ of credit with Labara on your phone is ideal and it will also give you plenty of time to talk to the UK or Europe or even the USA, plus free Labara - Labara calls for one month, this is great value and gives you your all important emails plus Internet information 24/7. The Hotspot allows you to use your phone, Tablet, Laptop, or even your PC, up to 8 different items online all prepaid so you get no huge bills or contracts. The cost of around £70 as a one off payment to purchase your hot spot, will give you all the joys of your home Wi-Fi connection at a fraction of the usual contract price. It has it’s own protection so no one can use it unless you give them the password.
Going back to equipment available, you can now buy a printer with copier and scanner for under 70€, print off your boarding passes, photos or copy those important papers you worry about losing, also it will print direct from your phone or laptop, it makes a copy as good as the original so should you, like me, lose the original, this can be used in place.
If you are here on holiday or a regular visitor or even a resident, the cost of equipment here is normally far cheaper than in the UK and is not tied to any specific supplier, all phones sold at Fowof are open so will accept any sim card including your UK card, or buy a phone that accepts two sims 1 your UK sim and a Labara sim from Spain and make use of the cheap calls or even free calls to the UK or take out a coupon and get your all in one internet, phone calls, etc. for only 15.00€. If you have your own equipment and it is running slowly take it along to get it cleaned, get rid of all that adware etc. that clogs your machine daily. Tasia, at Fowof, has now returned from her holiday in Madrid and is back in charge, making sure all the repairs and maintenance is kept running smoothly. Fowof normally have a 24 hr. turnaround for the equipment, so unless your machine has a very serious issue, you will be reunited with your gadget quickly. Fowof realise how important to people their phone or laptop is, so the 3 engineers are kept busy repairing, cleaning and maintaining your equipment to its optimum working condition. As nothing is sent away, all work is carried out in house or at their head office in Pilar de La Horadada. The most interesting repair of the week came from a regular customer who happened to be in hospital so a friend brought in her Tablet for her. The problem as explained by the friend was very urgent as she used it to contact family and friends in the UK. The Tablet had locked and was not working in any form, the team of engineers at Fowof, worked their Techno magic and after only 20 minutes, the Tablet had been reset and after a further two hours had been repaired and cleaned. We phoned the person who brought it in but they were on there way back to Javea and would not return till the next day, so we got details of where the Tablets owner was and
discovered she was in Los Arcos Hospital, so I decided to drop it in to the Lady, no problem except my dire hate of needles and the sight of blood! On arrival I was pointed in the direction of the persons room, laying in the bed was a lady who I had met before but she was on a drip with a bag of blood, no problem I thought what could go wrong, I handed the person the Tablet but as she reached for the Tablet the connection to her arm came adrift spilling blood over the sheets and the equipment, I made a quick exit shouting for a nurse who went in and then came to me in the waiting room to make sure I was OK? I said of course and returned to the room to laughter from the patient who said she could not believe my face when it happened, I explained that I was not good with needles and would have made a useless vampire who would have starved to death within days, she thanked me for the return and showed me her ''Hot spot'' working and the speed of the connection was great, ideal for hospital patients. I left after a few minutes, got totally lost on my way out, put my card in the machine to pay my parking fees only for it to come up error, I took it to the attendant who explained that I had put it in the same pocket as my phone and it had wiped the card clean. I was charged a set fee of 1.50€ and left, not bad for a hospital, a visit to one in the UK would have cost much more. But on my return to Fowof the whole shop was enjoying my demise as the customer had phoned to thank them for returning it so fast and then decided to tell them about my blood and needle problem and what had happened on my arrival, giving them all a great laugh at my expense. The end of the story is much happier, when
Remember if you are flying and have a smartphone with Internet you can now download your boarding pass on your phone to show at the airport, this makes life so easy and saves the problem of losing your boarding pass and having to pay a fortune at the airport for it to be replaced, mind you if you lose your phone the same applies! Remember if you have a UK phone, using it in Spain will see you return to the UK with a bill large enough to pay the national debt, it is cheaper to get a Spanish sim, then get some credit on your phone and use that, keeping your UK sim for incoming calls only. The cost of the sim is 5€ plus the prepaid credit you want to load it with. Ask the staff for the best deal for your circumstances, they will steer you in the right direction. Very little passes through Fowof that Tasia or the engineers can not repair within the stated 24 hours but Fowof also offer a service for small problems, while you wait, either software or hardware that can be completed within a short time, ask in the shop for details, prices for this are listed on the counter, this can save you time and also save you being without your equipment for any period of time, great value and no minimum charge you pay only for the time taken to repair it or for them to explain how to work the software you are having problems with. One tip from the engineers is any of your equipment that is rechargeable, when using it, allow it sometimes to run down to nearly empty, if you don’t the rechargeable battery will get used to only half a charge and will no longer charge correctly, one full charge each month will help keep your battery in good working order. Also ask in the Shop for any special offers they may have available, with regard to Phones, Printers, Tablets, Laptops or even Pc’s. One last point Angelos is re-opening his Greek Restaurant (Isla Mediteranea) in Mil Palmeras from March 18th; opening hours are 12noon till late. Go and give it a go, the Greek Meze is great value, say ho to Angelos and tell him you saw it in the Informer and you will get an extra great welcome!

OVERSEAS SUPERMARKETS (ICELAND,WAITROSE) SUPPORT HAH Following the monthly meeting on Tuesday March 1st, several HAH volunteers went to The Overseas Supermarket branch in San Javier to introduce themselves to the staff there and have a group photograph taken. A staff vote was recently held, and this resulted in HAH being the chosen local charity to be supported by the Overseas Supermarket (San Javier) for 2016. Well known to the local communities for their extensive range of products and frozen foods with the brand names of Iceland and Waitrose Lesley Eburne, HAH founder/Manager said, "we are delighted that we have been chosen, and hope to raise lots of money in-store throughout the year. We already have collection tins in place which are filling up nicely. Our thanks to Lisa and the staff for giving us this opportunity". Pictured below are members of HAH and Overseas supermarkets.

INFORMER GOLF Oh dear, last issue it seems I have upset a resident living on Roda golf who took exception to me bringing to peoples attention some of the many complaints of residents of Roda and other golf urbanisations. We at the Informer have nothing against any of the Golf urbanisations, we do however listen to residents and visitors who contact us with complaints or problems with the service they have, or continue to receive from their Golf urbanisations. The latest being a bus service that as I pointed out residents will pay for but may never use. Plus the increase in cost from 4,500€ for one month to 15,750€ for 45 days. This as pointed out by a resident, “however it gets paid” is a huge price increase in one year nearly 150%, we are told prices are rising but by 150% surely it would be cheaper to use taxis. Most complaints are about the high cost of living on a Golf urbanisation, these can range from 1,000€ to 3,000€ per year. The charges at Roda Golf are nearer the higher than lower of these, so we agreed with the resident of Roda to bring these charges to the table. With the present low rental rates achievable here in the Los Alcazares area, of some 400€ per month, by the time the owner takes off the charges and fees he is left with very little, if anything, also some with mortgages are in a situation where they owe up to 3 x the value of their house or apartment. For instance, a resident of Roda who paid 238,000€ for his apartment, went to a local estate agent to get a valuation. He was told, for a quick sale a price of 68,000€ would be appropriate. The mortgage balance is 135,000€ plus his fees and insurance left him paying over 1,200€ a month for the next 15 years! Three times the rental value, plus to make matters worse his apartment was built with a structural fault that should be repaired by the original builder, the builder has refused to fix it and after getting quotes from other builders the cost is prohibitive. The owners have since left the apartment and are taking legal action against the builder, the sellers’ agent, and the Bank who gave them the mortgage. Though he told us he is skeptical if anyone will be held financially responsible or will it be just another case of “rip off” builders and tough look for the owner. This poor man got taken for a royal ride, he bought two properties at the outset, one in Corvera and one in San Javier, the one at Corvera was never built even though he had paid a 100,000€ deposit, so as compensation he
was offered a second property at San Javier which luckily he declined, since then he has received 56,000€ by way of settlement and he is now suing for the balance on both. Since we mentioned this resident and his problems many more have contacted us for advice, we can only point them to any local solicitor, or to find out if anyone is doing a no win no fee case, we believe there are some solicitors who are offering this and there are already actions in motion. Away from the many problems that remain for residents here in Murcia, whether Golf or otherwise. US Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love the third believes Tiger Woods can make the team for this years match against Europe. Dogged by injuries and his poor form of the last few years, one wonders why he would even think of Tiger Woods, with the wealth of players available to him, in America it would seem being the country with the most players in the top twenty earners list he was spoilt for choice. On our side Rory McIlroy believes he is doing well, coming 3rd in Abu Dhabi, 6th in Dubai and 20th in the Northern trust open, now for me and you, this would be a great achievement, but for Rory results like this do not look like the number one player in the world he was two years ago. Plus his sponsors are looking for the results that make headlines I.e. Winner, though I am sure on past glories he will still receive invites to competitions, closed to many a good player. The golf calendar seems to be getting more crowded every year with competitions overlapping each other, making choosing your venue very important, an example was the 11th Feb European tour Pretoria, 11th Feb USPGA tour Pebble Beach, 12th Feb USPGA Naples Florida, the golf followers are spoilt for choice but why do them all at the same time instead of a week apart, surely sponsors want as much advertising as possible from their competition. I have enjoyed the golf from the comfort of my arm chair, the other day I watched Rory McIlroy shoot a 72 with the leaders shooting 65- 66 leaving him 7 shots adrift at Palm Beach, this is not the play of the proposed no 1, something seems to have happened in his life that has dropped him back to the middle of the field. Rory has missed the cut for the second year in
succession. It always seems strange that home players do well until we follow them and they drop down the order. My favourite UK player, Justin Rose, though normally in the Mid field he is always polite and not over confident, Justin at present is lying 48th in the prize money list. It seems we must applaud OUR local champion Sergio Garcia who shot a 65 including my dream shot, an 8 iron from 148 yards dropped in the hole, seeing as we live in Spain, can we adopt him as Our man! This competition will end soon and the outcome could be exciting. On day two Sergio dropped to third with a not so bad round of 69 some 2 shots off the lead. Perhaps my following of him is not helping Rickie Fowler is leading with -8 by one after day 2. Day three Garcia equals the lead so going into the final day with all hope of a UK winner gone, we must run with our adopted countries player; Sergio is good and always thereabouts but seems to miss out on that big competition win, in this case it seemed to get to him, getting 3 Bogeys on the back nine though Adam Scott who won by one stroke equaled this, his extra birdie (Scott 3 Garcia 2) gave him the win by one stroke. N.I. Mc Dowell was
the top UK player in 5th and the early leader Rickie Fowler dropped down the field to finish one shot behind in 6th still not a bad pay day. Sounds like me except though I still do enjoy golf, the winning seems to be a rare occurrence, usually occurring only when no one else turns up! With regard to the critics of this page, please remember this is aimed at a wide range of people with differing views on the situation locally, I try to represent all those views over the weeks, giving voice to the players and residents who ask that they be heard, though you may not agree with the subjects that have been put forward by people similar to yourselves, but with maybe different views on what is right and what is wrong, or even their ideas of changing the situation? The biggest complaint is cost whether it is Golf Course charges, or living on an urbanisation, that is charging you yet giving little in return. Spain like the UK suffers from people trying to make money without a care for the people it effects, we will continue to represent those people, remember they could be your neighbour but with different ideas.
