Amazing achievement
An amazing achievement and feeling
Three friends from North West London (Harlesden), had a vision to take freshly squeezed fruits, blend them with exciting Caribbean flavours and package them in recyclable plastic bottles.
No doubt that it sounds pretty straightforward? – Well the creators of Drip Punch will tell you that so far it has been anything but!. Yet the best part about the Drip Punch story is that when first made available to the public, the product sold a record 200 bottles in 23 minutes, approximately one bottle every 11.5 seconds, wow that’s some going.
Drip Punch is a small beverage manufacturing company that aims to make a big impact making artisanal cold pressed fruit punches. When Joshua (16), Jonathan (15) and Kevon (14) were in secondary school, they worked over the summer of 2018 to create their own fruit punch. Based on Joshua’s Grandmothers authentic recipe, the three boys wanted to manufacture a quality drinks product for their friends and family to enjoy. “We believe in making premium quality punches, made with freshly pressed juices for unique freshness and real flavour; whilst paying homage to our Caribbean heritage” Josh, Drip Punch CEO.
The boys immediately started to manufacture Drip Punch drinks during their summer holidays from a commercial kitchen, donated in – kind by the City Mission Youth Club. The boys then began to sell the drinks at local food markets and pre-Carnival events in the summer of 2018 and it was at one of these pre carnival events that the sale of just over 200 bottles in 23 minutes took place, it was an amazing achievement and feeling. n
The right work life balance
Since making the decision to leave her employed role, Clara has managed to achieve what many would require a lifetime to do. Motivated by the need to find the right work life balance, she set up her own commercial cleaning business, ‘Gemstone Cleaning Services’.
Through hard work, attention to detail and a single-minded focus on customer service excellence Clara grew the business from domestic to primarily offices and commercial building cleaning. “At a time when I was a single mother, I found myself in a position where my job was demanding and taking me away from my children. For me the price of working for others was at the cost of time with my family. It became clear to me that this cost was much higher than I was being compensated for in wages. So, I decided to start my own business to allow me to have the right work life balance, and still have a successful career. It was a major decision and a huge leap of faith on my part to stop everything I was doing and focus all my efforts into my vision”. Today Gemstone Commercial cleaning now provides cleaning services for locations as varied as GP practices, Chiropractic centres, general offices to film studios including BBC and SKY TV production sets, all over London. Clara has not stopped there. She
has recently added a property inventory aspect to her services, called ‘Gemstone inventory’. Clara understands that growth can never stop in an ever-changing business environment and sees change as an opportunity to be expected and embraced. Clara is acutely aware of the importance of giving back. She uses her platform as a Public Speaker to teach people ways in which to embrace their vision and nurture their goals. n
It’s our mission at Gemstone Cleaning to provide you with exceptional cleaning services and solutions.

When Pauline Miller, the MD of Personal Touch Funerals opened her funeral arranging business in 2010, it was viewed a little cautiously by many to begin with. It could hardly be believed that all services needed for not just the funeral service and day, but also the evening reception could all be booked in one place; with just one call or visit her unique One-StopShop funeral arranging service
Now entering it’s 10th year, and standing proudly in Acre Lane, Brixton, the company has truly established itself as one the premier funeral services serving South London and beyond. Personal Touch offers a vast range of services and products that compliment each other nicely fitting the company’s strapline ‘We can arrange EVERYTHING for a beautiful funeral day’ Not only do they offer all the traditional funeral services but others such as funeral stationery, flowers, videos, photography and streaming both for the church and the graveside which is in huge demand now with the current restrictions in place on numbers that can attend funeral day. Says Pauline, “our range of services has grown from strength to strength and the funeral video streaming and our latest venture redecorating old floral bases from the graveside in a choice of silk or fresh flowers where the flowers have died, is gathering speed as many place their orders to ensure their loved one’s graves look beautiful for the coming festive period.
