Assisted living facility proposed for Greenburgh

A GROUP SEEKING A SPECIAL-USE permit to build a 113-bed assisted living facility has presented a preliminary plan to the Greenburgh Town Board. RAKS Corp. is seeking to build on a 5.3-acre wooded site it owns at the ends of North High Street and North Lawrence Avenue adjacent to the Sprain Brook Parkway. A special-use permit would be needed to build because the site is zoned for single-family homes. FIVE YEARS AFTER OPTING TO keep its bottling division in the town of Somers, PepsiCo Inc. by early next year will relocate its operations and employees there to its offices in White Plains and Purchase, the company said recently. The Feb. 17 announcement from PepsiCo followed a recent announcement from Somers officials that the food and beverage industry giant, a major source of tax revenue in the town, will exit its 540,000-square-foot facility at One Pepsi Way by the first quarter of 2016. PepsiCo and its former spinoff company, Pepsi Bottling Group, which Purchasebased PepsiCo reacquired in 2010, have operated in Somers since 1989.

MORE BUSINESS JETS AND THE jobs that support them will be arriving at Westchester County Airport this year, as a fractional jet charter company will relocate operations

to the airstrip. Flexjet, a Richardson, Texasbased private jet operator, will move its operations from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey to Westchester County Airport’s Hangar F. Large portions of the moving costs will be defrayed

through $5,150,000 of bond financing as well as tax incentives from the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency. “Our bolstered presence at the Westchester County Airport is a way to serve our customers better throughout the entire
