A Message from Jack Hall Thank you for your generosity to The Walker School. Over the past three years, Walker’s Annual Fund has reached new heights, both in total giving and participation. Charitable giving has increased across every constituent group, from grandparents, current parents, alumni, past parents, current and former faculty/staff, and board members.

When major donors are approached and asked to make a transformational gift to the school, a healthy Annual Fund shows a strong and established level of commitment from all Walker families - past and present.
The impact of such generosity does not go unnoticed. For example, faculty/staff salaries and stipends have been increased, in part thanks to a more robust Annual Fund. All programs at the School – academic, arts and athletics – are enhanced with your philanthropic dollars. Some examples of how your gifts supported Walker in 2013-2014 include new school buses for transportation, upgrades to security, funding for technology, a new writing curriculum for the Preschool and Lower School, and enhanced and new robotics, girls lacrosse and flag football programs.

2013 – 2014 Financial Report The Walker School is deeply grateful for the generous philanthropic support of our parents, trustees, alumni, grandparents, past parents and friends to the Annual Fund. During the 2013-2014 fiscal year, the School raised $685,406 in charitable support from donors to support the academic, athletic and arts programs at Walker. Every dollar donated went immediately into the operating budget to support the people and programs that make Walker an exceptional college preparatory school.

Dear Walker Family, It has been a thrill for me to be a part of the 20132014 Walker Annual Fund Committee and on behalf of the committee (what a great team of Walker parent volunteers!) I would like to thank you for your generosity in supporting the Annual Fund! I would also like to express much gratitude to Walker’s faculty and staff who continue to support the Annual Fund at a rate of 100% participation year after year. Thank you all - it has been very motivating to see the entire Walker community work together to make our school the best it can be! Each year, the Annual Fund is counted on to fund crucial items and programs within Walker’s operating budget. Alumni Brick Plaza A tradition that started more than 15 years ago as the Alumni Brick Plaza, the Alumni Wall was unveiled in 2012 and honors each graduating class since 1981. The Walker Alumni Wall, adjacent to the Bowden Library, is a growing and lasting tribute to Walker’s graduates. The wall serves as a permanent reminder of the strength of The Walker School which is found in the creativity and talents of each of Walker’s graduates. The Legacy Fund for Financial Aid
Named in honor of the esteemed founder of The Walker School, the Father Joseph T. Walker Society is comprised of generous donors who have included Walker in their wills or other estate plans. These gifts provide essential financial support for the School’s future and make a positive difference in the educational opportunities Walker is able to provide. Through their planned gifts, these donors will have an impact on the school beyond their lifetime.
The Legacy Fund for Financial Aid allows donors to make a memorial gift in the name of a loved one that provides tuition assistance to a current family in need. The fund was established in 2013 through a gift in memory of Walker parent of alumni Steve Feder by his family. A gift to the Legacy Fund is a thoughtful way to celebrate the memory of a loved one while helping a Walker family facing their own difficult time in life.

Robertson Legacy Fund The Robertson Legacy Fund was established in 2010 in honor of Walker Headmaster Donald B. Robertson, upon his retirement from Walker after 26 years of leadership.
