Greyhound Weekly Volume 1
Number 48
Friday 1 September 2017
He had a paw in the door at GAP, but now he's a coursing legend. Better Than This has defied all odds to achieve coursing greatness and win consecutive Waterloo Cups At Longwood last Sunday, Better Than This won the Cup final for co-trainers Ashlee Terry and Andrew Paraskevas. Exactly 100 years since a greyhound named Brown Hawk collected the double by winning the 1916 & 1917 Waterloo Cups, Better Than This put his name in the history books once again by defeating Night Attack (Leigh Howard) by three lengths. To win the Waterloo Cup, greyhounds must course oneon-one six times in the space of two days without defeat in what is greyhound racing’s ultimate test of speed and stamina. It also requires training excellence with regard to managing your greyhound. Our special Waterloo Cup report starts on page 16 The Original Australian Nylon Greyhound Muzzles

The times he was running were simply amazing and it was a great pity we did not get to see the best of him.
His oldest pups were whelped in June 2016 and are now almost 15 months old and have just returned from the breakers with excellent reports. Can’t wait to see them on the track.

Coursing 2017 WATERLOO CUP LONGWOOD DAY NCA Victoria Being a bragger doesn’t always pay off. The weather gods turned the tables somewhat at the Waterloo Cup meeting at Longwood (Day 2). Whilst it rained heavily overnight in Euroa, one thought beauty let’s get that done and dusted. As can happen in Victoria you can get several variations of weather all on the one day, and we did. Blustery wind, driving rain, and plenty of sunshine in between two major ‘showers’. The good news is that the cooler weather is much better for coursing greyhounds. Only one greyhound could have their name engraved on the perpetual trophy detailing all the winners since it was first conducted in 1873 by the Victoria Coursing Club. There’s a long history for coursing in Victoria. all 144 years of it and our last 7 greyhounds were all worthy of reaching the final. Which two would get there was the question on everyone’s lips.
The semi-finals saw Ashlee Terry’s Better Than This defeat Malcom Davis’ Down Mexico Way giving Better Than This at chance at a second Waterloo Cup and his opponent would be Leigh Howard’s Night Attack who defeated the interstater Leeroy Rogue trained by Jeff Crawford. Due to the wonders of modern electronic technology for the first time in the history of the Victorian Waterloo Cup you could watch it live from WATERLOO CUP Better Than This had the score on the board being the your own lounge room or anywhere off course. This 2016 Waterloo Cup winner and winning three events came about with GRV live streaming the final of the this season. My Cousin Jim had coursed successfully at Waterloo Cup. We had 600 hits in the first 15 minutes Longwood 2 weeks prior, so you knew he’d give it his within an hour 1.1K hits. Better Than This took out this best shot. Avatar Minty was the only bitch left and this history making Waterloo Cup when he defeated Night was her first soiree into coursing, she was an unknown Attack. quantity. Down Mexico Way had coursed excellently during the season winning twice at the Down Street, Longwood venue. Indianna Keroma was making his coursing debut and did not disappoint, and was another unknown quantity. Night Attack had coursed in 4 meetings during the season reaching the final in all 4, with 2 wins and 2 runners up. Leeroy Rogue was a debut performer to coursing but proved that given the chance he’s put his best paws forward. All quarter finalists had coursed 3 times on Saturday so they’d reached the half way mark of the event. Wining a quarter final in an event of the type is not easy. It’s one of the hardest courses to win and all your care and attention to your greyhound is not always enough. It’s up to the greyhound, and like human Better Than This defeats Night Attack on his way to athletes some pull up and recover quicker and better his second Waterloo Cup. after a run. Better Than This off the red collar defeated My Cousin Jim carrying the white collar, Down Mexico Way wearing the white collar Defeated Avatar Minty (red collar) , Night Attack wearing the white collar defeated Indianna Keroma sporting the red collar and Leeroy Rogue wearing a red collar completed a bye. - 18 -
Coursing Waterloo Cup Day continues WATERLOO PLATE For greyhounds run out in the first round of the Waterloo Cup. The final of the Waterloo Plate was eagerly contested by kennel mates Sweet Spud and Last Outlaw, for Malcolm Davis with Last Outlaw getting the upper hand (or is that paw). Last Outlaw is still a puppy by coursing standards and his coursing form has been exemplary during the season with wins in the two classic puppy events, the Sylvester Doyle Puppy Championship and the Victorian Derby. The Derby was first contested in 1875. Sweet Spud has also had a stellar season winning 2 events. Another of Annette Kampman’s Tally Ho Team, Tally Ho Jack had performed well all season winning twice and being runner up once but found having beaten Fiery Melody in the Quarter and coming up against Sweet Spud who was first past the post. Sweet Spud defeated Susan Pitstock’s Biretta in the quarter final. Brietta who made her coursing debut on Saturday will hopefully come back bigger and stronger next year. Groucho had both a win and a runner up in his coursing form during the season but found it tough coming up against Last Outliner in the Quarter final, putting an end to his claims on the Waterloo Plate. WATERLOO PURSE For greyhounds run out in the second round of the Waterloo Cup. Yvonne Carter’s Hungry Heart had coursed successfully at Longwood early in the season and he too is still a puppy but Provenance proved too strong in the semi-final with a win thus wearing the red collar in the final. Dual Keroma had early season coursing form winning his maiden at Benalla in May and he sent Tally Ho Len back to the float ending a grand season of coursing for Annette Kampman. Dual Keroma would wear the white collar. The final was won by Dual Keroma wearing the white collar for Susan Pitstock and Craig Elliott’s Provenance ran up wearing the red. LONGWOOD CHALLENGE A challenge event with greyhounds run out on the prior day being eligible to be nominated. Preference is given to the greyhounds who were ran out in the 3rd round of the Waterloo Cup. Three greyhounds were nominated from the 3rd round ‘run outs’ with another 10 being nominated. A draw for the event was held to determine 5 more greyhounds for a field of 8. A further draw of the 8 greyhounds was conducted to determine their position in the event. Sean Lithgow’s Gotham Queen won this event after being defeated in the 3rd round of the Waterloo Cup by My Cousin Jim. Runner up was My Name’s Schultz for Graeme Campbell.
CASTLE CREEK MOTEL VETERANS This event was for ‘the oldies’ some of them just love to chase. The Final was won by Magic Buddie (September 2011 whelping – yes nearly 6 years old) for Calvin Russell by defeating David Dawson’s Puzzle And Me (August 2012 whelping). BURTON’S IGA SUPERMARKET -EUROA DOG PUPPY Due to the scratching of Aeroplane Barney, Little Boy Jed gained a run as a reserve and turned his good fortune into something better for trainer Fay Vantaarling with a place in the final. That’s where the good luck ended as Alisdair Armstrong’s Wings For Woody had the upper hand in the final and reached the winning line first. ELITE GRYHOUND PRODUCTS MIXED PUPPY Dallas Massina debuted one of her puppies at our last meeting in the season. It was worth waiting for as he defeated Theo Van Taarling’s Lodge’s Express who was just starting to warm to coursing. Look out for both of these greyhounds next season. WINNING POST GREYHOUND SUPPLIES MAIDEN DOG This event saw To The Galo’s for Murray Collyer win at his third attempt at coursing he’s a bit of an old timer too. (that’s To The Galo’s not Murray) being a December 2012 Whelping. To The Galo’s defeated Stuart Divers’ Sicario who was a first time courser.
BLUESTREAM PICTURES MAIDEN DOG ( The Fothergill Final) Pictish Mark trained by Jason Formosa and ably handled for the day by Jess Fothergill won this event with a win in the final over Brian Fothergill’s Swift Spur.

Coursing Waterloo Cup day continues
GARY THOMAS MAIDEN DOG Stoppa Bus made his coursing debut for Yvonne Divers when he defeated Ray Whybrow’s Racecourse Road in the final. Sometimes you see greyhounds’ names give a whole new spin to an event. One would not Stop a Bus on Racecourse Road, maybe one could? DISHLICKER COATS MAIDEN BITCH Alice Peat’s Laurence Avenue was another to make her coursing debut with a win in the final wearing the white collar when she defeated Sean Van Taarling’s Shazza’s Gift (red collar). Shazza was another who was just warming to this coursing caper. SHEPPARTON GRC MAIDEN BITCH Ian Garland is in fine form since competing in the previous Longwood meeting. He’s winning races, winning raffles and it is like everything he touches turns to gold. He continued on his winning way when Kay Are Emm making her coursing debut defeated Steve Collyer’s Lireva who was coursing for the first time this season. WHO WON THE RAFFLE? The Cranbourne Greyhound Racing Club sponsored our Waterloo Cup and firstly we must than them for their continued support of coursing. We also thank Ross Farmer for making the journey North on the Sunday morning as Cranbourne Greyhound racing Club conducted one of their Classic meetings the night before. We gave Ross the honour of drawing the raffle. You all know what the prizes were so we don’t need to go over old ground, do we? Ok, $500 voucher (1st), $200 voucher (2nd) and $100 voucher (3rd) that’s it in brief. The first ticket out was ticket number B267 and yep it had Ian Garland’s name all over it. Talk about when your luck’s in. Ian was on course and he collected his prize immediately, not sure if his other half knows about the win but the word’s about to go out.
The second ticket to be drawn was ticket number B340 and it was in the name of Gary Condon. Gary runs the Murphy’s Trial Track in Carrum Downs and many local trainers in the Cranbourne area use this straight track facility as aa part of their greyhounds’ training regime. The third and last ticket to be drawn was ticket number B282 in the name of Robyn Quigley. Robyn to was on track and grabbed the loot, I mean third prize and made a quick getaway. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket in one of our two fund raisers for the year. Thank you also to those people who assisted in selling tickets and also to the greyhound racing clubs that allowed us to sell our tickets on their race night. I know one little boy was who was broken hearted that he did not win. That’s hard to take when you’re just a kid. As we get older we realise you win some and you lose some. Roll with the punches, so to speak. He was happy with his NCAV stubby holder, the only kid that has one of those. As our coursing season draws to a close and we look back and reflect on what a great season it was commencing on April 2 with a Catch On To Coursing (COTC) meeting at Lang Lang followed by another COTC the following week at Longwood and culmination of the season with a two day event at Longwood for the Waterloo. What’ll we do now? I know footy ball finals with consume our time. Thank you to our 3 clubs who conducted meetings this season with Benalla (2), Lang Lang (4) and Longwood (4). Slips to Boxes meeting were conducted between Longwood and Shepparton and Lang Lang and Cranbourne. A huge thank you to our volunteers who assist in conducting our meetings, they are worth their weight in gold and without them these meetings would not be conducted. Thank you also too the trainers and their greyhounds who are competitors sometimes and comrades other times. Thank You One and All. It truly has been a great season. Hope to see you in 2018. Gee the years fly by quickly…..

Nationals Review
Jury got it Right in National Sprint By Kathrine Ernst (for AGRA)
Jury too good in National Sprint final (Pic Box 1 Photography)
TONY Brett received the best birthday present of his life when boom youngster Jury ($5.30) (Cosmic Chief x Velocity Sheba Mar ’15) took out last Friday night’s Group 1 National Sprint Championship (520m) at Albion Park. The series attracted a stellar field to the Brisbane track including star Victorians Bewildering (Black Magic Opal x Outlandish Feb ’15) and Aston Dee Bee (Barcia Bale x Aston Elle Apr ’15), but when the boxes flew open for the $75,000 to the winner event it was all the local hope which pinged the lids and led all the way in a slick 29.88. South Australian On Fire ($7.20) (Bekim Bale x Alana Blues Dec ’14) flashed home for second, with Aston Dee Bee ($2.80) rounding out the trifecta in third place. “No bigger present than that, that’s for sure,” Brett exclaimed post-race. “He did what he had to do and that’s what we were hoping for all week. If he could get out and jump and run somewhere near the time he did [in the QLD final] we knew he’d be hard to run down. “It’s just an amazing feeling to win in front of your home town.” Brett said there were a few tense moments throughout the race as gun sprinter Aston Dee Bee got straight behind Jury, but praised his dog for fighting off all challengers to claim his first group 1 win at start 19. “There was a little bit of trouble out in the middle…you lose sight of them about half way up the straight but I knew he was going to be up there and when he came out [of the home straight] in front I thought ‘you beauty lets give this what you’ve got’. “Seeing the eight coming from behind I was worried if we were far enough in front, but Mick
Zammit [trainer of no.2 Gunnadoo Rev] came to me on the home turn and said ‘you’ve got this’ so we pulled the whip and away we went.” Jury has now won 10 races from 19 career outings, with his prizemoney in excess of $125,000 for his owner and breeder Steve Williams, head of the Velocity Lodge Syndicate. It was an especially remarkable effort given it was just his fourth start since resuming from a lengthy injury -enforced spell, with Brett impressed with his ability to rise to the occasion given his race fitness heading into the series. “He went into this underdone. He was ready in himself but he wasn’t ready for the 500 – he hadn’t had a 500 leading into the QLD heats so he has just excelled and I couldn’t be prouder of him and what he is doing. “He is loving his racing at the moment. He had a dog like Aston Dee Bee chasing him but he held his own so I was proud of that and it just shows that he is up to chasing some nice races.” Brett said he is unsure what he will target next with Jury, with the leading Queensland trainer now turning his attention to far north Queensland on Tuesday where he has a three-pronged attack on the Group 3 Townsville Cup heats. The field in finishing order after the placings with starting price, Bekim Street $30.60, Gold Lenny $34.30, Gunnadoo Rev $10.40, Bewildering $4.50 and Max Profit $7.70. Jury is raced by Steve Williams & Velocity Lodge and trained by Tony Brett at Grandchester in Queensland. Jury is a Black dog whelped March 2015 by Cosmic Chief from Velocity Sheba (College Causeway x Velocity Zoom). He has won 10 races and has been placed on four occasions from 19 starts after the first prize of $75,250 for the National Sprint Championship his current stake earnings stand at $125,648.
Fanta Bale Takes Out the Distance Final Superstar Fanta Bale wining at the Meadows

AGRA Reviews Fanta Bale wins Distance Title, continued Getting a start in the $75,000 to the winner feature as the AGRA wildcard, Fanta Bale was flawlessly away from box one, barging up along the fence to take the early lead from Big Easy Red (Barcia Bale x River Seine Dec ’13). Through the catching pen, Fanta Bale skipped clear of her rivals, with Big Easy Red leading the chasing brigade ahead of Outside Pass (Head Bound x Tina’s Show Aug ’13) as powerhouse stayer Burn One Down ($3.30) (Buck Fever x Fancy Jaffa Jan ’14) also got into the clear back in fourth. Coming off the back Fanta Bale’s lead was slowly reducing, with Burn One Down producing a strong finishing run, however the Robert Brittontrained bitch had set up too much of a break, saluting by one length in a fast 41.71. Big Easy Ran ($13.70) ran a ripper race to finish third, with Outside Pass filling the exotics back in fourth. Owned by the Wheeler family, Fanta Bale has now won 28 of her 43 starts including five other group 1 triumphs – the Hume Cup (600m), the Australian Cup (600m), the Rookie Rebel (600m), the Sandown Cup (715m) and the Gold Cup (710m). Friday’s victory takes her prize money earnings to just above $895,000. The field in finishing order after the placings with starting price, Outside Pass $2.70, Ebby Ripper $15, Bogie Bekim $25.40, Shima Sun $81.30 and Ramifications $31.30 Fanta Bale is a Black bitch whelped August 2014 by David Bale from Ucme Typhoon (Dodgem By Design x USS Mysterious). Fanta Bale is raced Paul Wheeler and trained by Robert Britton. She has raced 44 times for 28 wins and ten placings. After adding the $75,250 first prize for the National Distance Championship her stake earnings stand at $895,235. Fourth on the all-time stakes winning list.
Mister Twister Unstoppable in Black Top By GRNSW Website (for AGRA
Mister Twister, seen here winning at Wentworth Park recently was too good in last Friday night’s Group 2, Black Top, at The Gardens.
A superb run from start to finish from Mister Twister gave the Jason Mackay-trained greyhound his second group win when he took out the Group 2 Sires On Ice Black Top at Ladbrokes Gardens last Friday night. Starting from box six, Mister Twister ($3.30) began brilliantly leading the field through the first turn, recording a first sectional of 4.93 in the process. The son of Collision and Double Twist then had to fight off a strong challenge from Aqua Cheetah ($5.40) before winning by a length in 29.44. Aqua Cheetah, one of two runners in the race for Seona Thompson, finished second with outsider Lord Jack ($21.10) in third. The favourite for the race – Aston Bolero – did not overcome a poor start and following some interference finished eighth. For Mister Twister, the win was his second group victory having won the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park in June. Couple those two wins with the greyhound’s victory in the lucrative Richmond Riches and Mister Twister has now taken his prizemoney total past $310,000. The win also extended Mister Twister’s unbeaten record at Ladbrokes Gardens to five starts, and was the 18th of his career. A start in Saturday’s Bob Payne Spring Sprint heats at Wentworth Park is likely to now be on the cards for Mister Twister. Mister Twister is a Black Dog whelped January 2015 by Collision from Double Twist (Where’s Pedro x Tifi) he raced by the Tiger Seven Syndicate and trained by Jason Mackay from Richmond Vale in New South Wales. He has raced 41 times for 18 wins and 15 placings. The $40,000 first prize for the Black Top took his stake earnings to $310,055. After the placed runners the field finished in the following order 4th Riley Tokaam ($9.90), 5th Zipping Chang ($12.00), 6th Kyra Miss ($28.90) 7th Two Jay ($8.30) 8th Aston Bolero ($3.30). The NSW NCA could not have selected a better name for this ongoing feature at the Gardens. The race is now operated by the new Gardens franchise, Black Top by Top Linen from Classy Jane was an icon of the sport, he was raced by Frank Holmes of Highfields (near Newcastle) and his breeder Mrs. Edna Hanson bred him in Birmingham Gardens the suburb in which the Gardens track is located. He raced in the early 60’s only contested 20 races for 17 wins and two seconds. Our People Lindsay finds a home
loved and hugged. But be well aware it will be costly to care for Lindsay - she requires special food and medication and potentially frequent vet visits. And then there is the heartache of losing her when it gets too much for her little body and its her time to go. Its not going to be easy, but the love Lindsay has given me already makes me know it would be worthwhile. I know this request is a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway. There are over 3,700 people in this group and I'm hoping someone may be able to help. We are located in Latrobe Valley, Country Victoria. And if no one can be found to take over Lindsay’s care she will stay here with us and I will do my utmost to give her the very best life I can.
Last week, we met Lindsay, through her carer, Bronwyn Pulis Lindsay is a sweet 3 month old blue female greyhound who is adorable in nature as well as looks. Lindsay is a special needs girl who I am hoping to find a home for her to live out her days may they be long or short. You see, Lindsay has been diagnosed as having a Liver Shunt. Before puppies are born they have different blood circulation which bypasses their liver and they use their Mum's liver to filter toxins etc. After a puppy is born these blood vessels close over and the blood begins to filter through the puppy's liver. Sometimes this doesn’t close properly leaving the puppy with blood that is not filtered through the liver, so toxins build up. Lindsay was about 2 months old when she started to show signs of this toxic buildup. Luckily our vet picked it up quickly and did a special blood test which was diagnostic of a Liver Shunt. With a low protein diet and medication she has stabilised and is a happy little puppy again, although her growth is much slower than her litter siblings Lindsay was born to be a race dog but now we know she wont be strong enough. Treatment for a Liver Shunt may include very expensive specialist surgery which may or may not work, medical management, which is not a cure, or euthanasia. Dogs with liver shunts have a markedly shorter lifespan, maybe only 2-3 years, but sometimes longer... I cannot even consider the thought of putting this sweet girl to sleep, and the surgery is just too expensive for us. So for now we are medically managing her. I have approached GAP but they are unable to take her as they could not afford to spend so much money on just one dog. (they could save a lot more dogs with that money) Rather than living her short life in kennels here with us I would love to see her in a normal home being
Update Great News!! We have found a new home for Lindsay.! I am thrilled that she will have a comfortable loving home with a wonderful couple, Courtney and Anthony who live in Melbourne and just love animals!! They have made enquires about surgery and hopefully we can raise the money to get this done so that Lindsay can lead a 'normal' life. Thanks so very much to those who have donated money. Please keep sharing this page. Bronwyn Pulis The Go Fund Me page link is as follows: https://www.gofundme.com/ngwb6-helping-lindsay UPDATE. $1,750 of $5,000 goal was raised by 38 people in 15 days. Let’s see if we can help to make sure the target is met to help little Lindsay, and her new owners. Good to see the names of some Greyhound Weekly subscribers on the list of donations so far.

#4 Get more powerful cameras and locate them higher. Most big city equipment is fair enough – not Wentworth Park, though - but the provincials can be variable to ordinary.
#5 Give on-course spectators a higher vantage point. THE MYSTERY OF BREEDING DOWNTURNS Usually there are not many of them but when they Part 3 Bruce Teague come for feature events they will not see much from ground level. Can we do better? In this final installment of my trilogy I want to mention a few items that might impress our public – or not, as the case may be. So this letter combines both Product and Public aspects.
#6 Customers do not like 300m races for squibs – they want a good run for their money. Replace them with proper races. Dogs which can’t get 400m should try gymkhanas.
People are buying a multi-faceted entertainment package: what they see, what they like or don’t like, what might make them profits, what is interesting, and so on. They like action above all.
#7 Eliminate all current bonuses for long races (they have not worked) and transfer the funds into serious studies and solutions to the increasing shortage of decent stayers – it’s primarily a breeding issue. Letters Bruce Teague’s letter—continued #14 Disband Greyhounds Australasia and replace it with a National Greyhound Commission (NGC) with full power and authority to oversee policy and regulation – welfare, administration, operational, commercial, wagering, marketing, public relations – the lot. We desperately need an organisation that can negotiate powerfully and promptly with the public, governments, TABs, animal rights groups and so on. Overcome any moans and groans about state supremacy. # 15 As an adjunct to the NGC - in it or outside of it – we must create an independent, professional data processing unit that is responsible for all formguides, race results, breeding details, etc, much as the gallops have now. The current system in Victoria is adequate (but no more than that) but hopeless everywhere else where the Ozchase system reigns. Ozchase represent the worst piece of consumer advice I have ever seen in this country – voluminous, hard to read, sometimes incomplete – where information is secreted out of customer view and files can never be downloaded digitally (or any other way). It’s a bureaucrat’s delight and a consumer nightmare. Cash for these improvements will be a problem. Nevertheless, the effect of not making changes will be more costly than making them. The industry is in real danger as things stand. We have to bite the bullet. Some may agree or disagree with some of these points but they badly need to be debated and assessed. However, one thing is certain – implement any one of them and you will see an improvement in public and consumer support. And the timing has never been more critical. Bruce N. Teague, Gosford, NSW. Editor’s Note Bruce Teague’s three part contribution has been an interesting exercise. Whether you agree with him or not, the issues raised will have an important bearing on the future of greyhound racing in this country. You may agree with some of what he says and not other parts, but we would certainly be interested in your comments and make this space available to all readers who with to make a contribution. Nostalgia Rhonda Remembers New South Wales greyhound enthusiast Rhonda Singleton became involved with greyhounds in 2009 as a owner and racing them. E A R L Y E D U C A T I O N $85 Prevention is better than cure, right? With breeding numbers down by around 60%, and an estimated 30 -40% of pups not being named, I would like to start a new service - early education. I'd like to see this become my main, if not only service. I feel it's a critical step our industry has neglected for too long, and with the poor percentages above, its important we become more efficient with what we breed. I'll provide details in a day or so, but basically this program is for 3-9 month old pups, with a minimum of 12 weeks to gain real benefit from the intense one-on-one education. But longer the better! There will be 6 stages of which your pup will go through, all designed to ensure your greyhound is a well-rounded, forward, confident and keen chaser, with his/her prey-drive fully unlocked! They'll still get all the standard rearing, but will also get exposed to the kennel life as well as lots of bullring, box and drag lure work. For older pups, at stages 4, 5, and 6, your hound will be a junior race dog, they'll even compete against another pup behind the drag and on the clock, so that'll be great for syndications to keep clients excited! With early and consistent positive reinforcement, I can safely and confidently offer a full refund on the extra service if (IF) your pup doesn't break-in. That's $15 per week refund, even if you use the full 40 weeks, or minimum 12 weeks. (*conditions apply).

Accell Therapy Accell Therapy is gaining popularity in greyhound recovery and performance, however many people do not realise the benefits of utilising this therapy with their breeding animals. Firstly though, a little bit of information maybe beneficial in explaining how the therapy works and the benefits in using it with your breeding stock.Accell therapy is Australian owned and Australian made by CT Healthcare in Brisbane. It has a long history in human therapy spanning over 67 years. The therapy is used extensively in the older generations of our population for joint mobility, muscle issues and circulation problems. It is also widely used by major sporting clubs, Australian army, Australian Institute of sport and many more. This therapy has been tested and registered by the TGA as a Class 2a medical device. The benefits of this therapy include improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, relaxing muscles and improving nerve muscle communication, and Enhancing joint mobility and enabling a natural analgesic effect. This cycling vibration therapy travels very gently and very deeply through 4 feet of bone and 2 to 3 feet of tissue. This enables a very deeply penetrative benefit to all cells through muscles and joints to receive these benefits. This creates momentum in the bloodflow which does not peak until approximately 5 to 8 hours post treatment, giving ongoing benefits well after the therapy session has been completed. Once it has peaked, the benefits will slowly drop back over the following 24 to 48 hours so regular daily sessions are most beneficial. There are many benefits in relation to breeding that can be gained from using AccellTherapy. When a bitch is cycling the benefits of increasing the circulation and lymphatic drainage enhance the natural efficiency of all systems in the body and thereby improving hormone levels and regularity in cycling and all facets of the reproductive system function. We have found that many bitches that are proving difficult becoming pregnant, suddenly become more balanced and able to be impregnated. And additional benefit that is derived from the body working more efficiently and having higher levels of oxygen and nutrients supply through greater blood flow, is the health and well-being of the beach during the pregnancy term. Her ability to feed the foetus during the pregnancy is greatly improved her to her higher levels of health and well-being, making the gestation much more supported by her body. These benefits flow

through to the quality of the milk the bitch produces, to feed after whelping. Anxiety can be an issue leading up to whelping and the Tranquillsage setting on the therapy can be very calming at this time. It lowers the alpha rhythms in the brain to resting levels, thereby calming the bitch naturally. In the event of an Cesarean section being necessary, Accell therapy can be used to generate faster recovery times for the bitch and improve internal circulation and thereby internal warmth of the pups. This reduces the reliance upon heat mats for pups. The Tranquillsage setting can also be used for the ongoing recovery of the bitch whilst feeding to keep her calm and relaxed during this time. We all know how much benefit a calm mother is for raising young. However, it's not all about the girls. You can look after your dog using Accell also The same benefits from improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, flows through to sperm motility and quality from enhanced health and well-being and improved nutrients and oxygen levels. Any muscle soreness or back issues that the dog makes experience during mating can be alleviated and recovered using the therapy to best effect There is a wonderful opportunity to improve the overall quality of your breeding program using this Australian made therapy and dogs can be treated using a therapy mat without needing to sit with each animal during treatment. Due to the depth of therapy penetration through 4 feet of bone and 2 feet of tissue, simply placing a crate on top of the mat will allow transmission of the therapy through this structure to the dog. It works a bit like a conductor. This lets you get on with your jobs while your dog is receiving premium care. It also protects your medical equipment from a chewer or any damage. The Andrews Labor Government has introduced new rules to streamline planning approval processes for new or expanding greyhound facilities. The changes provide more certainty for greyhound facility owners and operators, so they know what can and can’t be built. New rules will govern the scale of racing dog facilities, ensure appropriate setbacks from boundaries and neighbouring dwellings, require gates that prevent the escape of racing dogs and ensure landscaping is used to preserve views from nearby properties. If these requirements are met, small facilities will not need planning permits and medium-sized facilities will be able to avoid a protracted advertising period. Greyhound racing is an important industry in Victoria, employing almost 3,000 people and delivering more than $400 million in economic benefits to the state each year. The new provisions follow an extensive consultation process with local community groups, industry experts and local governments. The Government will closely monitor local councils to ensure the new provisions are being properly applied. For more information visit planning.vic.gov.au.
