It’s a great opportunity for people to get up close and personal with a greyhound and find out more about these wonderful dogs. Greyhound industry saddened by sudden passing of trainer Greyhound Racing Victoria is saddened by the death of St Leonards trainer Mark Cauchi last weekend. Mr Cauchi had attended The Meadows on Saturday night with his dogs Sisco General and Cruisy’s Empress. When the dogs were called for pre-race vet checks, Mr Cauchi was absent and stewards, following normal procedures, scratched and swabbed both greyhounds. At the time, stewards were unaware of Mr Cauchi’s passing. On learning of Mr Cauchi’s passing, GRV immediately contacted his family to offer condolences and support.
