NOTABLE VENDOR: "Our venue. We found WRPA while searching wedding venues online. We met with Jackie back in December of 2018 and booked right away! We had looked at a few other venues all over which were ridiculously overpriced. and when we met Jackie. both David and I were thinking that this was going to be another location that was out of our budget. We walked the grounds, the hall, the bar area, and the boardroom. When we asked the price, we were floored! It was way below what we had thought and expected so we booked with Jackie on the spot! " - S
BEST MEMORY: "There are many, but I know that each person got up at least once to dance and that was important to us!" - S ADVICE: "Stay laid back! Don't make the event stuffy and uncomfortable - the more we told people it was a casual BBQ wedding, the more people didn't feel obligated to wear suits and uncomfortable heels. Everyone had a blast!" - S • Stephanie Toole. Published Dec 25, 2022

COLOUR PALETTE/THEME: "Between the venue's gardens, historic interior, and our minimal florals, we created a tropical glam wedding. The colour palette kept coming back to copper and emerald. We had copper pipe stands with emerald accent signage, emerald favour boxes, and the slightest hint of copper flake on our cake. Our groomsmen and bridesmaids wore nonmetallic colours that closely coordinated with our colour palette. The beauty of the venue really shone through." - A | BRIDE'S ATTIRE: Sophie's Gown Shoppe (www.sophiesgownshoppe.com) | GROOM'S ATTIRE: Surmesur (www.surmesur.com) | BRIDESMAID ATTIRE: Azazie (www.azazie.ca) | GROOMSMEN ATTIRE: Moores Clothing for Men (www.mooresclothing.ca)

NOTABLE VENDOR: "Our photographer. We did A LOT of research into wedding photographers and interviewed about 12 or 14 before the Edgewater Manor recommended DA Photography. There was an instant connection with Dragi in our first call. We ended up chatting about photography, his business, and our plans for close to two hours. We were blown away by Dragi's knowledge of Edgewater Manor. He already knew the best spots around the venue depending on the weather that day. With the immediate comfort we felt with him on our first call, we knew we would feel free to be our true selves on our wedding day. Almost a year after we booked him, we accidentally ran into him and his wife at a wedding show and it only made us more excited to work with him! On the day of the wedding, it was incredible to work with Dragi and his second photographer, Erika. They truly enjoy what they do and genuinely care about the people they work with - capturing authentic emotions and expressions as they happen. Dragi knew how to bustle my dress better than any of my bridesmaids and even helped our DJ deal with a malfunction in his speakers to keep the party going! Overall, DA Photography was just incredible to work with. We feel so lucky to have found them!" - A&B • Amanda Akmeemana. Published Dec 25, 2022

Rustic Beauty
GUEST #: 96 | COLOUR PALETTE: "We went with navy, ice blue, peach/cora,l and silver accents." - J | THEME: "We wanted a rustic theme, with fairly minimal décor to let the barn and beautiful wood building shine through. We used clear glass cylinder vases for candle holders on wood rounds with some simple floral touches. Family and friends also pitched in making other rustic touches - everthing from signs to reupholstering the chairs for our head table. Shirl's Florals and Seasonal went with gorgeous additions for the reception, like wooden crates, Edison bulbs, a stunning chandelier and our refurbished head table which really completed our theme." - J | DÉCOR/FLORALS: Shirl's Florals and Seasonal (@shirlsfloralsandseasonal) | BRIDE'S ATTIRE: Second Dance Bridal (www.seconddance.ca) | GROOM + GROOMSMEN ATTIRE: ASOS (www.asos.com) | BRIDESMAID ATTIRE: David's Bridal (www.davidsbridal.ca) | HAIR &

NOTABLE VENDOR: "Our photographer. I posted in a wedding group online looking for recommendations and Heart to Heart was highly recommended. After speaking with Stefanyie compared to the other photographers I spoke with, we just clicked. She knew what she was talking about, and I felt confident that I wouldn't have to worry about giving her instructions to get photos I would like. Working with Stefanyie and Elliott was great! They were lots of fun to work with and knew how to put everyone at ease and have fun throughout the day while still getting everything done! I love that whenever Stefaynie was taking photos, Elliott was also shooting but from another angle. We got some truly stunning photos from different view points." - J

NOTABLE VENDOR: "Our photographer. I found HRM while looking on Instagram for area photographers that captured the kind of aesthetic we were looking for. I loved their work. HRM had also photographed a friend's wedding and they only had great things to say. We had our first meeting with Lindsay, who answered all of our questions and went into detail about everything. They were wonderful about customizing a package for us as well. Lindsay and her associate were easy going but kept us on track and told us how to pose. We had never had professional photos done but they made it so easy and relaxed. The favourite part of our photos were the candid shots throughout the day. They really captured the happiness and joy we felt." - C
ADVICE: "Have a hotel close to your reception. We thought the hotel in town would be completed by the time our wedding came around but it opened a week after. We only found out about a month prior to our wedding and had to scramble to find a hotel in nearby London as well transport some people from out of town. Also get a videographer no matter your budget! It was the best way to memorialize the day and we will watch it for years to come!" C • Caitlyn Mercer. Published Dec 25, 2022

TELL US YOUR STORY: "Taylor and I have loved each other for over a decade. However, time was never a metric that dictated the tempo or pace at which our relationship should progress based on external markers or societal standards. We have truly marched to the beat of our own drums, the caveat being that the tempo of our "drums" has been aligned since day one. Our commitment to each other has been unwavering over our 11 years together. Although we were happy and truly content knowing this was true as "partners", we are thrilled to now be committed to one another now as husband and wife." - C NOTABLE VENDORS: "Our venue. We were looking for a unique venue with an elevated industrial feel, and stumbled upon Tapestry Hall on social media. We had the best time working with them! The wedding packages they offer are very inclusive. The Stoneridge team are as involved as you wish and they went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! It was really appealing to us to have a venue where guests could stay overnight and the staff are so accommodating. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!" - C
BEST MEMORY: "This is a hard one. There are so many wonderful memories from this day that it’s hard to pick just one! Our favourite memory would have to be our first look! We were both so nervous, emotions were running high and for just a moment it was the two of us alone, looking at each other, knowing this is our forever! It was such a sweet, intimate moment." - C
ADVICE: "If there is anything we could tell future couples - Don’t sweat the small stuff! Everything has a way of coming together and it will all work out! The stress you’re feeling isn’t worth it. NOTABLE VENDOR: "Our decorator. Working with Cindy was the best decision we made in the whole planning process! She managed to somehow put together everything I hoped for, that I couldn’t articulate. Her and her team are EXTREMELY talented at what they do, and it was such a blessing having them be such a big part of making our dream wedding a reality. Cindy made it so easy to remain calm, as she talked me through everything, and answered all my questions leading up to the big day. She truly is a gifted, wonderful, and kind human being. She was such a blessing. I can’t thank her enough." - R BEST MEMORY: "My best memory was honestly the whole day. It's been four months now, and I'm still asking Eric if he wants to do it all over again. I have zero complaints about that day. We absolutley loved everything; the fact that we were surrounded by all of our family and friends, and that after almost three years of dating I was finally marrying the man I love. The décor was beautiful down to every little detail. The flowers were absolutley stunning and I'm still using them for my centerpiece on my dining room table. The favours were unique. My dress made me feel beautiful. My hair and makeup were perfectly simple. The grooms and groomsman attire was classic. The bridal party looked amazing. The Ring's Trend Report
What’s Hot on the Horizon
We’ve done the research. We’ve talked to the pros. From décor and florals, to fashion and fun, here are our favourite top 10 trends for 2023.
Retro is hot everywhere these days and now we’re seeing it more in weddings as well. Boho has been a favourite retro wedding trend but why not take it a bit further and include a retro experience like driving off into the sunset in a Retroo VW Bug. Retro can be incorporated in décor elements, florals, and of course, fashion.
Vibrant Colours: FINALLY! After the last few years of muted blushes and ivories, we’re thrilled to see a return of bold, vibrant colours. From attire to florals to décor accents, the return of colour is a feast for the eyes!

Weddings are no longer just a pretty day to sit back and watch. Now they’re Experiential events to be enjoyed by everyone. Over the last few years, we’ve seen a shift from guests being witnesses at your wedding to active participants in your wedding. Of course, photobooths and live music are great ways to add to your guests’ experience, but you can take it further and include an artist painting a scene at your reception (www.emilypaintsevents.com), group dances, lawn games, and more.
We love Mirror Elements to enhance either a modern or vintage wedding theme. Mirrors can be placed under table centerpieces or settings to reflect candlelight, to greet guests with seating charts and place settings, and glittering mirror balls over the dancefloor. Antique framed mirrors can be repurposed for signage and directions. Mirrors can be used as décor accents to reflect your wedding style.

Mirror Element
Pearls traditionally represent purity and innocence but have also come to symbolize a happy marriage. We’re seeing a resurgence of pearls spread throughout wedding elements. Use pearls to embellish invitations, incorporate in attire with accents on veils, belts and headpieces as well as on gowns for both brides and maids, accent florals and décor.
The latest floral trend that we adore is Grounded Arches. Arches, arbours, and backdrops are essential in creating a focal point to draw the eye and attention of guests during the ceremony. Couples are embracing the trend of the crescentshaped floral arch that is low to the ground. These grounded arches can be personalized in almost any colour, theme, or floral design.
Prints are the new fav in weddings. They add a refreshing, colorful, and fun twist to your wedding, and can be used in many ways. From fashion to décor, to invitations and other key wedding elements, use prints to draw the eye with a dash of vibrancy and zest to your day.
Dance Floor Decals are both a trend and way to include other trends. A dance floor decal creates a visual statement often incorporating the couple’s monogram. Take it a step further by adding a large print or vibrant colours.
2023 weddings. From champagne walls to candy or donuts, a treat wall is a wonderful way to welcome guests to your joyful day. Treat walls can be used for photo booth backdrops, for displaying photos, favours, and more.
We think Treat Walls are going to be the must-have décor
Never out of fashion, Sustainability is always our favourite trend. Whether you choose to rent décor items instead of buying, reduce your carbon footprint, opt for anything and everything eco-friendly, we think taking care of our environment is always on trend!

Cake Q&A
Choosing the right cake for your wedding is more than just choosing between chocolate and vanilla, fondant and buttercream. With nine years creating the sweetest wedding cake confections, Decadently Yours knows all the questions that you want to ask. Here are the answers to some of their most common, and a few unique, questions.
Q: CAN I HAVE FRESH OR DRIED FLOWERS ON MY WEDDING CAKE?
A: Absolutely! Flowers are naturally beautiful and can enhance most any cake design. Fresh flowers can be easily matched to the rest of your wedding flowers. Dried flowers are a popular choice and lend a beautiful retro/boho vibe to your cake.
Q: DO YOU OFFER CAKE TASTINGS?
A: Yes. You’ll get to pick a set number of flavours or flavour combinations and indulge with your fiancé. Taste each one together and decide what each of you wants. Like most bakeries, we’ll allow you to choose different flavours for different layers if you can’t or don’t want to pick just one.
Q: WHEN SHOULD I START HUNTING FOR WEDDING CAKE INSPIRATION?
A: ASAP! It’s never too early to start looking for wedding cake inspiration, so get started early on. It’s one of the sweetest items on your wedding planning to do list and early research will save you from getting super stressed later. If you’re a procrastinator, a safe bet is about six months in advance of your wedding, so that you know what your looking for when meeting with bakers and doing tastings.
Q: WE HAVE A FAMILY RECIPE; CAN YOU USE IT FOR OUR CAKE?
A: As much as we would love to replicate your grandma’s special recipe, we cannot. She has taken time to perfect that recipe. We have never baked it before and have no idea how it should actually taste. You know the saying: "It's not quite like Grandmas cake, but almost."
Q: THAT IS OUT OF OUR PRICE RANGE, OUR FRIEND SAID SHE WILL BAKE OUR CAKE.
A: Of course, this is your choice to have a friend or family member bake your special cake for you. However, has she ever baked or decorated a wedding cake before? Does she know how to work with buttercream and/or fondant or know how to place flowers on a cake? Is she certified to know how to work with food? Has her place
been inspected or does she have insurance? Many times (not all) something comes up and there are reasons why "this cannot be done" or “I just ran out of time and really sorry, but I cannot do this anymore” and leaves you with no cake. You’ll be scrambling at the last minute to find someone on short notice to help and that could leave you with no cake at all.
Q: MY COLORS ARE DEEP RICH COLOURS. CAN YOU DO THAT IN BUTTERCREAM? I REALLY DON'T LIKE FONDANT.
A: The answer is yes but we do not recommend dark icing for weddings. The icing requires a lot of dye to achieve a rich color and it will colour your teeth, your tongue, and anything it may fall on. If one spouse smashes it into the other spouse's face and it falls on a beautiful white gown, that dress will be permanently stained.
Q: HOW DO I DECIDE ON MY WEDDING CAKE STYLE?
A: Ideally, you’ll want your wedding cake to match the style of your wedding. Don’t pick your cake style before you’ve made your other design decisions including colours, theme, feel, etc. You don’t want a simple white cake if you’re having a bold, colourful event. You want your cake to feature prominently but seamlessly into your wedding’s overall esthetic.
Q: HOW ARE YOUR CAKES PRICED?
A: Typically, cakes are priced based on the number of pieces and will increase depending on the complexity of your flavours, filling, and design. When determining your budget, you’ll want to have a piece of cake for each guest. Consider paying the cutting fee and serving your cake as dessert. Not only does this make the very best use of your beautiful and carefully selected cake but it’s great for your budget to not have to have to pay for a separate dessert. •

A Luxury Wedding Photo Booth Experience www.pictureus.ca | 519 578-0925 | pictureuskw@gmail.com
10 Reasons To Have a Photo Booth at Your Wedding
Are you planning your big day? Do you want to add something extra special and memorable to ensure your wedding is the talk of the town?
If so, why not consider having a photo booth at your wedding? A great choice for any couple looking to create an unforgettable experience for their guests! Here are 10 reasons why you should consider having a photo booth at your wedding.
YOUR GUESTS WILL LOVE IT!
Photo booths are a great way to keep your guests entertained and excited throughout the night. A photo booth provides an engaging activity that encourages everyone to let loose, have fun, and make unforgettable memories.
CAPTURE SPECIAL MOMENTS
A wedding is full of special moments – from saying "I do" to dancing the night away. But these moments can easily slip away in an instant. With a photo booth, you can capture these special memories forever.
PERSONALIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE
One of the best things about having a photo booth at your wedding is the ability to customize it to fit your unique style and personality. You can choose from different backgrounds, props, and other options that will make sure your photos stand out from all the rest. From fun speech bubbles to wacky hats and sunglasses, you have endless possibilities for personalizing your experience.
AFFORDABLE KEEPSAKES
With a photo booth, you can still get beautiful, high-quality photos without breaking the bank. In addition, most photo booth companies will provide you with a USB
drive or online access to all the pictures taken throughout the night, so you'll have plenty of fun memories to look back on for years to come
UNIQUE AND MEMORABLE
Having a photo booth at your wedding will surely be an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. Everyone loves having fun in front of the camera – and what better way to remember the night than with some hilarious photos?! Plus, having a physical copy of the photos is an amazing keepsake for your guests that will last long after the party ends.
PERFECT FOR LARGE CROWDS
Not all photo booths are created equal. While photo booths are always fun, some photo booths are limited in size, limiting the number of people that can be in the photo. Other photos booths styles are more open concept allowing for larger groups to gather for a photo.
ENJOY VIDEO MESSAGING
Many photo booths now come with the option of video messaging. This is a great way to capture heartfelt messages from your guests that you can look back on in years to come. You can even share these videos with friends and family who couldn't make it to the wedding.
ZERO WORK FOR YOU
Having a photo booth at your wedding means you don't have to worry about extra work or stress on the day. Instead, you can simply leave it up to the professionals to do all the setup and tear-down while you focus on enjoying yourself and celebrating with your
loved ones.
VARIETY OF BOOTH OPTIONS
Photo booths come in various shapes, and styles – so there's something for everyone! Whether you want a Mirror booth, 360, roaming style or even a digital 'tiktok' booth, plenty of options are available. Booths can also be customized with fun animations or interactive photo and video effects. With so many choices, finding one that matches your unique style and budget will be easy.
SHARE WITH THE WORLD
It's easier than ever to share your photos and experiences with the world. Thanks to digital sharing from the photo booths, you can easily upload your pictures to Facebook or Instagram so everyone can join in the fun! In addition, your guests will love being able to instantly post their photos right after they take them – making for a truly unforgettable experience.
Having a photo booth at your wedding will bring lots of joy and create lasting memories. Not only does it provide entertainment for your guests, but it also allows you to capture special moments that you'll cherish forever. With all the fun props, options, and digital sharing capabilities, you can be sure that your guests will have an amazing time at your wedding! •

Ten Budget Friendly Tips For Your Wedding
EXPERT TIP BY: Risa VanMiddleKoop, The Financial Diva (www.thefinancialdiva.ca) Published Dec 25, 2022
Wedding planning and wedding budgets are all about priorities. Rising costs are making both a challenge. If you’re looking for a few budget-friendly tips to help you plan for both your dream wedding AND your happily ever after, read on.
1. ENJOY A LONG ENGAGEMENT: Instead of rushing down the aisle, give yourself a year or more to plan your wedding. The extra time is great not only for planning, but it’s also an opportunity to save money to pay for your dream wedding instead of going into debt. .
2. DON’T OFFER ENDLESS ALCOHOL OPTIONS: You don't need to host a fully stocked, top-shelf open bar for your guests to have a good time! Offering a selection of the most common alcohols, along with beer and wine is much more cost-effective. If your heart is set on a signature cocktail or champagne toast, consider limiting your pre-dinner cocktail hour to only this beverage.
3. FIND AN OUT-OF-THE-BOX WEDDING VENUE: Country clubs and fancy hotels are great, but they're not your only options! Consider a restaurant, museum, city park, college/university, library, or even a boat—there's a slew of modestly priced (and unique!) wedding venues out there to choose from.
4. RENT! DON’T BUY: It’s tempting to shop until you drop for all the beautiful things for your wedding. Consider renting items that you won’t use again for to be eco and budget friendly.
5. TRY AN ALTERNATIVE OR EMBRACE MINIMALIST BRIDESMAIDS’ BOUQUETS: Skip bouquets and go with floral crowns, greenery, or a single stem if you'd like to stick to flowers. Other alternatives include books, candles, and, in one memorable case puppies.
6. SHAKE IT LIKE A POLAROID PICTURE: Instead of renting a photo booth, create a Polaroid or instant camera station with a few cameras, props, and tons of film. It's just as fun!
7. GET A LITTLE HELP FROM YOUR FRIENDS: If your friends and family members offer to help you out with part of your special day, take them up on it! Perhaps you have a friend who's a musician and wants to play at your ceremony or a family member who's a photographer and wants to take your wedding photos. If they've offered to help, it's because they want to. Not only will it make them feel special, but it’ll also give extra meaning to your wedding day memories, too.
8. DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO DIY EVERYTHING: Not all DIY projects provide cost savings. Sometimes the cost of purchasing materials for your DIY is more than the cost of renting or hiring a professional. If for some reason your DIY project does not turn out the way that you hoped, you’ll be spending more money redoing the project or purchasing/renting the item finished.
9. WATCH FOR DEALS AND SALES: Follow your favorite local wedding professionals on social media to find out about trunk shows, sample sales, discounts, and to catch special promotions.
10. CHECK OUT NON-WEDDING RETAILERS: Retailers and professionals whose products are not traditionally wedding focused may offer cost savings. For example, your favourite restaurant may offer catering. Many of your favourite local businesses would be happy to re-imagine their products or services in a way that fits your wedding dream and budget.

Music Central is the Master of Experience
Couples planning weddings for 2023 and 2024 are turning their attention to making sure that their weddings are experiential; shifting guests from their role as witnesses to active participants at their weddings. The hottest trend for 2023 isn’t new to the team at Music Central. They’ve always had a passion for amping up the guest experience. Rob from Music Central tells us how they can help you embrace this trend.
MASTER OF THE DANCE FLOOR: DJs at Music Central are passionate about music and making sure that your wedding is memorable. “It’s important that we execute the vision for your wedding properly. All the details of your day are translated into a blueprint for your wedding. All the details without exception, get passed along to your DJ. We help make your day memorable. We’re making the soundtrack to your wedding. The next day you want to hear: ‘That was a party!’
‘My feet are so sore. I’ve never danced so much!’ ‘Uncle Bob never dances, and he danced all night!’ We care about what we do. We’ll give you everything we’ve got. It’s our passion.
MASTER OF THE PHOTO BOOTHS: While this has been a popular experience that seemed to be fading out popularity, couples are reembracing the open-air photo booth to commemorate the opportunity to
celebrate together again. Open-air photo booths allow larger groups to join together to make photo memories. A side benefit of the photos is that it amps up your guest experience. Not only do they get to have fun posing with fun accessories and props in the photo booth, but they’re also more likely to hit the dance floor when they’re done in the photo booth. The photo booth gets them out of their comfort zone and gets them moving.
MASTER OF CEREMONIES:
Choosing your Master of Ceremonies is a more complicated decision than it can seem on the surface. Who you choose can impact the way that your guests experience your wedding day unfolding. Rob tells us, “The MC is the storyteller of your wedding. They make sure that you stay on track and steer the event along. They have 2 basic duties at your reception: first they coordinate with vendors, so everyone is on the same page and then they communicate the day with your guests. But the truly great Master of Ceremonies doesn’t just coordinate and communicate. They help to tell the story of your wedding; they help to create moments you and your guests will never forget. They tell the background story for guests that may not know the significance, they set the stage for the special moments that the couple want their guests to experience with them. A professional MC knows how to set
the mood, the stage, tell the story, and then step back and let the moment unfold.”
MASTER OF EXPERIENCE
When you book Music Central for your wedding you get access to their limitless experience. “There are aspects to a wedding that are very subtle but make a huge difference. One of the most important aspects is flow. We can give you advice on how to keep your day flowing naturally, seamlessly, and stress-free. Keeping the day flowing enhances your guests' experience.” Speaking of experience… "Most of our team have 200, 500 and even over 1,000 weddings under their belts. Sure, some weddings go off without a hitch but what if there’s a hiccup? You want someone who doesn’t get rattled. With Music Central you’ll have someone calm and experienced to help get the day back on track and keep it on track.” •

How To Outfit Your Wedding Party
An engagement can be an exciting but often busy time in the life of a couple. Many couples may begin their wedding planning journey by discussing what their individual and collective visions are for their big day. Other couples may already have a clear vision in mind and may begin to shape this vision into a reality for their wedding together. Of course, the big decisions are often: The Date, The Venue(s), The Guest List, and The Budget. Once those are set or in progress, couples start to think of the finer details such as the bridal party, photographers, food, and what they will wear.
For traditional bridal dresses, most brides are advised to order a dress 8-12 months in advance unless they choose an off-the-rack option. Shopping for a dress is a staple event in traditional, North American wedding culture. However, when picking a tux, suit, or less stereotypical outfit, the rules seem a lot more fluid and less widely known. For many weddings, the tuxes or suit decisions are made at the last moment in lieu of planning bigger, and more exciting portions of the wedding.
Photos and videos offer some of the lasting memories of your special day. Your suit or tux selection will be featured prominently, not just on the day of your wedding, but also on your “thank you” cards, social media profiles, and will hang in your house for years to come.
Keeping this in mind, we would suggest that planning for your tux or suit look and the look of your attendants, outside of the wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses, should start roughly 6 months in advance or earlier. This means, if you are getting married in JulySeptember, you should probably start thinking about your suits/tuxes in February – April. This will allow time for research on where you can find the outfit you have in mind, styling of your suit/tux, and the colour palette that will complement the rest of the bridal party’s outfit. It also allows ample time for sizing and any final alterations without the stress.
In this article, we will detail the top 3 ways to ensure you achieve your wedding vision while keeping everyone in the wedding party happy and comfortable.

1. ATTEND A FIRST CONSULTATION AS A COUPLE
The number one, biggest error we see when someone comes in to buy a wedding suit is that often the person in the initial consultation does not understand the look or aesthetic of the day, or they have unclear instructions. We often hear, 'My fiancée purchased a dress, I think she *maybe* said it wasn’t totally white and she wants me to wear a tuxedo, or a black suit,' or, “I am supposed to buy a navy suit”. It’s easy to see how that train can fall off the tracks quickly.
We always encourage the couple to come together for an initial consultation where they can talk to us about the vision that they have for their day, show us photos of flowers, photography, venues, colour palette, etc. We then use all this information to help ensure everyone feels confident that the outfit(s) are in keeping with the vision for the day.
2. GET THE PEOPLE EXCITED!
Once you have had your initial consultation, it is time for everyone to get excited about the suit you will design. When people are excited about the clothing that they are wearing, that translates into excitement for the day, and this excitement carries through to the photos and the dance floor.
Often in the initial consultation we will encourage the couple to pick a detail or two that each person can customize and make their outfit their own while still maintaining the overall uniform look of the wedding. Some suggestions are completely customized memory liner (made from your own photos), a special monogram, or a little something dangerous on the back of the dress shirt or under the cuff or inside the collar.
3. MAKE GETTING THE SUITS AN EVENT TO REMEMBER
Just like choosing the perfect dress, getting fitted for a suit can be a great night out for the wedding party. After the initial consultation, we encourage the wedding party to come as a group, get measured, shoot some pool, and make an afternoon or evening of it. Again, getting excited and engaged in the process will lead to a better atmosphere, party, and the overall cohesiveness of the big day. If your wedding party is geographically dispersed, we suggest having the out-of-town people join us virtually. Many times, a wedding party may consist of the most important people from different parts of your life. The wedding party fitting is a great chance for all these people to get to know each other prior to the rehearsal dinner/big day in a low stress, relaxed environment. •

Wedding Rehearsals Without Overwhelm
Why online advice about wedding rehearsals is wrong
EXPERT TIP BY: Annette Marchant, Enduring Promises (♥) (www.enduringpromises.com) Published Dec 25, 2022
The lead-up, and day of the wedding can be hectic and crazy. Have you ever planned and performed a wedding ceremony before? Not many people have. If you're looking at hiring (or have hired) an Officiant, it's probably because you love the idea of having a personalized ceremony, one that you create. A ceremony only you and your Officiant have discussed and understood the details on.
Over the years Enduring Promises has worked with so many couples and their families, wedding planners, venues, photographers, and DJs. You could say they've logged the hours, put in the time, and have become experts in the field—professionals who know how to work with other wedding professionals. "We're here to help, to remove the stress, because this is the reason you hire an Enduring Promises Officiant. We work together, you personalize, and create and we take your vision and make it a reality. Be sure to ask what your options are and remember to stay true to who you are as a couple. You have hundreds of options to choose from when you book our 'Your Ceremony, Your Way' wedding package—making staying true to who you are as a couple easy, peasy!"- Annette Marchant, Enduring Promises Writer
Kim & Ronny tell us, "We did a rehearsal a couple of days before our wedding. It was our first time meeting our Officiant in person and we were so pleased with how friendly and funny he was. He got along great with everyone! During the rehearsal he really put our minds at ease and got us more excited about the big day! He made us feel comfortable and gave us pointers to better our ceremony."
"We perform the ceremony. We know your personalization. We know the elements and moving parts. We love what we do and we'd love to rehearse with you. 'Nothing beats experience!'" - Annette Marchant, Enduring Promises Writer •

EXPERT TIP BY: Holly Sluiter, Fedora Media (www.fedoramedia.com) Published
So, you’re looking through different wedding photos and wondering why backlit lighting effects look so jaw-droppingly gorgeous! You know the ones, the ones with really cool light behind the couple, and you want to have something dramatic like that for your wedding. Not sure where to start? Here are Fedora Media's top 5 tips.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER: Choose a photographer that matches the style of what vou are looking for. Make sure their portfolio reflects the style you want. Ask for sample images, specifically with unique lighting. Check that they have the right equipment and skills to do this type of photography. The best way to do this is to ask the photographer if they do 'off-camera flash' work. If they say yes, then they have the technical ability to create these images. If not, then you may want to speak to a few more photographers. 'Off-camera flash' just means that they will remove the flash from the top of the camera and place it in a different location creating the beautiful lighting that you are looking for.
HAVE A LOCATION IN MIND: Take some time to think about how you would like these images to look. For example, if you want string lights in the background, make sure the venue or the photoshoot location has a spot on-site set up with your string lights before you get there. If not, is this an option you can have added on in time for your wedding photoshoot?
PLANNING THE PERFECT IMAGE: Once you have chosen a photographer, have a consultation with them to discuss what
lighting effects you would like to do. It is important that they know this ahead of time so that they can be prepared and bring all the necessary equipment. Sharing sample images with your photographer is a great way to convey exactly what you are looking for. They may also have some great ideas for you once they know exactly what you want.
HOW TO FIT THIS INTO YOUR TIMELINE: Once you agree on the image concept, make sure your schedule has sufficient time on your wedding day to execute your photos. Remember, it's always a good idea to plan for more time than you need, just in case things are running late. For these types of images, you should budget about half an hour as they take time to set up and test the lighting. These are great photos to take in the evening between dinner courses.
HAVE A BLAST: Most importantly, have fun! These types of photos really come to life when you have the emotion and joy behind them. Treat it like a fun collaboration with your photographer, not just something to check off your to-do list. After all, the day is all about you, so enjoy it! •

HOT FOR 2023: The Intimate Wedding
THE BIGGEST TREND? GO SMALL! 4 REASONS WHY!
PHOTOS, this page: lindsaycoulterphoto.com
EXPERT TIP BY: Leslie Kay, Tapestry Hall (♥) (www.tapestryhallcom) Published Dec 25, 2022
Smaller, more intimate nuptials were a trend we saw takeoff during 2021 and 2022, and as we all know… this wasn’t necessarily by choice. This year we saw celebrities like Ariana Grande and her husband, Dalton Gomez, or Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, lean into the intimate wedding trend, helping it go from a pandemic obligation to one of the hottest trends as we head into the new year! Here are 4 reasons why we love the intimate wedding trend!
1. THEY HELP YOU FOCUS ON WHAT’S IMPORTANT!
2020 and 2021 shifted the perception of the wedding guest list. Inviting everyone that you’ve ever known to share in your special day is no longer the norm. What we love most about the intimate wedding trend is that it allows you to focus on those who are nearest and dearest to your heart.
2. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!
Intimate weddings are certainly a more budget-friendly option, but a smaller guest list can also mean that you can put your wedding savings toward the details that mean the most to you rather than covering the headcount of your guest list.
3. LESS STRESS! MORE FUN!
Planning a big wedding can be overwhelming for some. More
extensive guest lists can sometimes leave couples feeling like they are doing the day more for others than for themselves. With a smaller wedding, you’ll have fewer guests to worry about, meaning you can spend more time enjoying each other.
4. UNIQUE VENUE OPTIONS!
The Tap Room at Tapestry Hall in Cambridge, Ontario, is the perfect example of why you should consider an intimate wedding for your special day! Set in The Foundry Brewery, it is full of character, with rich limestone and sandblasted beam detailing. This unique and modern space has bright, beautiful windows that flood the room with vibrant lighting. It is the perfect space for events with a guest list of 150 or less!
Whether you’re thinking small, large, or somewhere in between - we have a room that will be perfect for your special day. Start planning your “I Do’s” by visiting www.tapestryhall.ca! •
ABOUT TAPESTRY HALL: From intimate to grand, brunch to dinner, the team at Tapestry Hall is here to help you celebrate your forever in style! Our venue is a beautiful canvas designed for you to customize all the details of your big day, from furniture to lighting, music, and menu planning. Get started today!

5 Wedding Reception Meal Styles to Consider
TIP BY: Jessie Jacobs, Stratford Country Club (♥) (www.stratfordcountryclub.ca)
Unquestionably, one of the most significant aspects of your wedding is the food. Whatever the setting, whether it's a cocktail reception or a formal plated dinner, the food should showcase the two of you as a pair.
PLATED SIT-DOWN DINNER: The most common meal selection is a plated meal. Your guests are able to sit and relax, as they are served a formal 3 course meal. With the opportunity to provide entrees your guests pre-select, and to be wowed with every course, it is a special offering sure to impress your guests.
BUFFET STYLE: Another popular choice amongst couples planning their wedding is a buffet dinner. Buffet dinners are popluar for a number of reasons including budget, and being able to offer a vast selection of foods that will be sure to suit your guests. The biggest challenge of buffet dinners is moving your guests quickly and efficently through the food lines.
FOOD STATIONS: Similar to buffets, food stations provide casual food offerings that guests can select while mingling. They are a great way to make personal selections of your favourite dishes. If you enjoy nachos, you can offer a nacho bar with all the toppings, for your guests to create their own personal nacho plate. It suits the needs of everyone and is a casual food service offering.
A FAMILY-STYLE MEAL is exactly what is sounds like. Everyone sites down at the table, and large platters and bowls of

food are passed around the table, much like you do in your own family home. If you want a hybrid plated/buffet meal this may be the option to select. Usually there are one or two selections of first course options such as soup or salad, the main course of two entrees, for example bacon wrapped chicken and roast beef with red wine jus, along with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
COCKTAIL RECEPTION: Break with convention and have a cocktail reception for your wedding. It can be an alternative food offering option, which removes things on the to-do list. No table arrangements, seating charts or other formalities are necessary. Instead, you and your guests can socialize, dance, and graze on hors d'œuvres throughout the wedding day. Combine a cocktail reception with food stations to create the ultimate grazing event.
Offering your guests a variety of options, including a few that are vegan/vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free is crucial to ensure there is something for everyone. Our Culinary Team prepares all food offerings on-site from the freshest ingredients. •
ABOUT STRATFORD COUNTRY CLUB: The Stratford Country Club is Stratford’s premier wedding venue. Their event space includes an event patio, outdoor wedding ceremony area, and beautiful indoor space to celebrate your wedding or special event. Chef Ken Odette offers a terrific list of wedding menu options, however, customizing menus to fit your tastes, preferences, and/or dietary requirements is always possible.

There didn't need to be any strong colours as the scenery was beauty itself! The men wore navy blue, and the girls wore a champagne satin. All the flowers at the wedding were white roses, with a compliment of green. The décor was very clean with white, and a touch of champagne or gold." - M | BRIDE'S ATTIRE: Justin Alexander from Mariana's Bridal Boutique (www.marianasbridal.com) | BRIDESMAID ATTIRE: Park & Fifth (www.parkandfifthco.com) | GROOM+GROOMSMEN ATTIRE: 4MenUnited (www.4menunited.com) | HAIR & MAKEUP: Bahia Principe Grand Spa - Aretha (www.bahiaprincipe.com) | PLANNER: Bahia Principe Grand SpaDelecia (www.weddings2bpjam@bahia-principe.com)
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "The biggest challenge for a destination wedding is getting RSVP's. There was a lot of preperation going into this wedding, as we wanted guests to feel welcomed. We put together things like welcome bags for every room, centrepieces, personalized fans, etc. The resort also needed to know final numbers and names ahead of time, or there were additional charges. Being a destination wedding, some may not agree or wait till last minute to purchase a ticket for the flight. Which put a lot of stress on our end as we needed to order and create items that took weeks at a time. Everything worked out inthe end. The key is to purchase a higher amount then you may need." - M
ADVICE: "Our advice to everyone else is that although it is important to listen to the opinions of those who matter to you, it's important to not feel compelled to follow all of them. Especially if it does not line up to your vision. If you start to consider everyone's suggestions, it can at times feel overwhelming, and in the end may not be what you want. Afterall, you cannot make everyone happy. So just remember that it is your wedding.- M • Melissa Belmonte. Published Dec 25, 2022

8 TIPS TO HOSTING AN ECO-FRIENDLY DESTINATION WEDDING
Did you know the average wedding of 120 people can produce as much as 400 pounds of garbage? With an average 2.5 million weddings between Canada and the USA each year, that can add up to more than 1 billion pounds of trash annually!
Day-to-day living has changed over the last decade. Acknowledging how society has impacted the planet has put a greater focus on how we as humans can make a conscious effort to reduce our footprint. This affects our choices in everything from the food we eat and the way we shop, to the way we celebrate special events.
If you’re concerned that you can’t host a destination wedding in an eco-friendly and sustainable way, think again. We’ve put together some key points to consider when planning your wedding that will help you and your guests enjoy a “green” celebration. And many of these can apply to weddings at home too!
1. CHOOSE A RESORT THAT IS ALREADY COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT. As an example, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts “Wave of Change” has eliminated single
use plastics at all resorts. Ask us about their “Ever Green” program, which includes onsite coordinators to help you make sustainable choices. without compromising on style.
2. USE DIGITAL INVITATIONS instead of paper.
3. If bridesmaids were able to choose any dress within your wedding colour palette, they might WEAR IT AGAIN. Plus, who doesn’t love the ombre dress trend?
4. At the resort, REUSE TOWELS & SAVE ENERGY by adjusting the thermostat a few degrees, and use the appropriate containers for recycling, organic waste, etc.
5. CHOOSE A PLATED DINNER over buffet to eliminate food waste.
6. USE LEAVES FOR PLACE CARDS instead of paper (not only tropical, but biodegradeable too!)
7. LIMIT ADDITIONAL DÉCOR OR USE
LOCAL ELEMENTS and local florals in your wedding design.
8. In general, a destination wedding is a smaller event than a wedding at home, which means LESS RESOURCES.
BONUS: Concerned about the CO2 emissions of the flight to your destination wedding? There are resources that can calculate your travel footprint and can offer you and your guests an easy way to contribute to an affordable carbon offset project.
Remember, creating the perfect marriage between beauty and eco essence isn’t impossible, it just means planning every detail thoroughly and thoughtfully. •
