TOMORROW AT CHANDLER PARK By Steven Barnum assistant news editor
Frustrated by a lack of action on preventing gun violence, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate in rallies on Saturday,
March 24. The ‘March for Our Lives Organization’ has planned marches in over 800 cities around the world, according to vox.com. The main march will take place in Washington, D.C. at noon, though times will vary
depending on location. To join the movement, local residents don’t have to travel outside of Macomb. A rally at Chandler Park is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. The rallies, which will encourage lawmakers to put politics
aside in favor of safety, are designed to continue the push for gun control. This movement is in response to the string of recent incidents like the Valentine’s Day mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland,
Fla., where 17 students were gunned down. People can also contribute to the movement by making a donation at marchforourlives. com, which has received pledges from celebrities like George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.
