t’s not always simple to figure out why your sexual life isn’t what you want it to be. Your potential for pleasure is sometimes limited by the routines you follow daily without much consideration. While excessive stress and sleep deprivation are two well-known factors that lead to decreased sex desire, there are a few additional factors that we should consider in most aspects of our everyday lives as well. We’ll discuss some common practices in this article that have the potential to destroy our sex lives. The most often overlooked culprits are listed below.

. YOU BINGE ON BAD FOODS
If you’re addicted to junk food, you’re putting a lot of simple sugars, refined carbohydrates, and trans and saturated fats into your body. Your blood flow may slow down as a result, which may impair your sex performance. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and plant-based protein (nuts, beans, and tofu) instead of junk food. Bonus: Maintaining a good diet helps increase your energy levels for sex.

End your pre-bed media browsing because it will make you more stressed rather than calm you down.
How confident you feel is greatly influenced by the messages you send to yourself or hear from others about your physique. Your sex drive and self-image both suffer when such messages are unfavourable. If you tend to criticise yourself constantly, try to break that habit and concentrate on the positive aspects of who you are. Spend time with individuals who uplift you and take care of yourself.
CONCLUSION You can’t expect to have a satisfying sexual life regularly unless you break these behaviours. You will naturally have more libido and sex desire if you live a healthy lifestyle, stay away from stress, avoid too much salt, and limit your use of smartphones. his week marks three years since we embarked on a mission to provide the best entertainment and lifestyle content for you, our dear readers. We reflect on the journey as we celebrate our third anniversary with 156 editions. Since the beginning, we have been steadfastly dedicated to providing insightful and thought-provoking cover stories. To commemorate this anniversary, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite excerpts that have captured the spirit of our magazine over the last year.

(1) As a lawyer, Hairat Aderinsola Balogun, OON, performed admirably both then and now. With her exceptional legal career, Balogun has shown that women can overcome the status quo and thrive in fields that men have historically dominated if they apply their knowledge and challenge the established standard. Hairat Aderinsola Balogun, OON, is a woman of many firsts: She was the first female Attorney-General of Lagos State, the first female General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the first female Life Bencher (Chairlady, Body of Benchers), the first female President of Rotary Club Lagos. Under the military government of Governor Gbolahan Mudasiru, she was also Nigeria’s second female attorney general. She is also a Life Bencher. She couldn’t have been a better fit for our International Women’s Day celebration last year. When asked about the legacy she would like to leave behind, she responded, “I think the only legacy is somebody who served in truth and justice— that’s what I titled my memoir. You must have confidence that this is the truth as you see it, as you know it; no matter who it offends, you do your best according to the law of the land. Sometimes, the law may be mistaken, so you do justice as far as is humanly possible to everybody on the same level.

After a country’s name, its cultural identity is its most significant descriptive marker. In this exciting cover story, we sat with two of the most influential custodians of the Nigerian culture today, Chief Mrs Nike Monica Okundaye, popularly referred to as “Mama Nike”, and her husband, ex-police Commissioner Reuben Osaruyi Okundaye. They are the curators of the Nike Art Galleries in Osogbo, Lagos, OgidiIjumu (Kogi State), and Abuja. When she was asked how she believed we could preserve our culture since it seems we were losing it, she said, “To preserve our culture, we must continue training people who can take over after us. That is training the generation. Sometimes, it may not even be your biological or adopted, but if you see someone you can train, train them. It’s training the trainers because if you train somebody, they can train another person.”
(3) Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force that is reshaping industries, societies, and our daily lives. AI is revolutionising various sectors, from self-driving cars to virtual assistants to personalised recommendations and even to medical diagnoses. In this issue, we explored the birth and evolution of AI, its current applications, and the ethical considerations surrounding its development and redeployment.

(4) Whether it is hosting a podcast, acting on a television series, or influencing for international brands, young people today have harnessed digital technology and social media’s power to make a living and a meaningful impact in society. We had an insightful conversation with three of those young minds, and there are none like this trio of Fashion influencer and Media Personality Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Influencer and Entrepreneur Priscilla Ojo, and Actor and Podcaster Susan Pwajok. They opened up to us about their life in the face of the media so far. Talking about the biggest misconception people have about Gen Z, Enioluwa responded, “People frequently accuse members of Generation Z of being rude, but while some young people behave rudely, they are by no means the majority. Adults may test us because they believe we lack manners as a result of this misperception”.

In this issue, we had a discussion with him where he shared the heart and soul of his remarkable journey and, most importantly, the profound love for his craft that fuels the flames of his enduring impact.

Over the years, Nigeria and South Africa, two of Africa’s biggest nations, have had a blissful relationship, and this was made possible by some individuals who work behind the scenes to ensure both countries’ relationships remain symbiotic. One such person is Dr Bobby J. Moroe, the consul-general of South Africa in Lagos, responsible for nine states. In this conversation with our Executive Editor, Onah Nwachukwu, he discussed the similarities and differences between South Africa and Nigeria, the unfortunate attacks perpetrated by South Africans on Nigerians, and the consulate’s role in fostering a healthy relationship between both countries.

In this issue, she opened up to us about the complexities of her journey as a movie producer, including her plan to launch her production company.

She is well known for her significant contribution through her brand Ruff ‘N’ Tumble, and so far, her brand has exhibited an extraordinary fusion of originality and quality. For our Christmas edition last year, we enjoyed an interesting conversation where she revealed her approach to staying ahead of trends and how she has managed to maintain her brand relevance over the years. She says, “In the kid’s fashion industry, we stay ahead of trends through research of global trends, local tastes, and nuances.”

I feel like we’re new friends, and you fell in love with me so deeply that you invited me to your birthday party after just a month of getting to know each other, and now the MC has given me the microphone to give a speech. You don’t know me well enough to know I don’t like public speaking, but you like me well enough to know you want to hear what I have to say about you and our one-month romance (because, yes, romance also exists in platonic friendships).

Truth is, I’d known who you were for quite some time, but I never got the chance to speak with you, and now, I’m smitten. friendships flourish; some may be even more important. But the effect that openness and vulnerability have on a friendship or relationship of any kind cannot be undermined. It is like unlocking a world of limitless possibilities, opening a new portal to a different dimension, and creating a unique timeline in the multiverse of our lives. You never know what lies ahead, but you must take that leap to find out. It offers the freedom to explore while simultaneously presenting the fear of the unknown. Yet, it is the bravery to venture deeper into the unknown that becomes our guiding light through life. It’s absolute freedom in some cases, and for others, it’s absolute fear, but the bravery remains. The bravery MUST remain.
Freedom and fear. Life often presents us with binary choices at various crossroads, shaping us into the individuals we eventually become. This duality can be bittersweet, but it is an essential part of existence; we must live with it. We must embrace the uncertainty of tomorrow, hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. If we’re lucky, our bravery gets to outshine our fears in this lifetime, allowing us to live authentically and true to ourselves, the way you love yourself to be, the way you were created to be. And there is nothing sweeter than knowing we seized life by the horns and made it our own, for whose life is it if not our own? As you celebrate another year, I hope you have the courage to conquer every fear that may hinder your journey towards embracing your most authentic self, the best version of who you are. And I hope we all have the privilege of witnessing and participating in this remarkable transformation with you. Cheers

THE ART OF DOING NOTHING experience, teaching me that moments of stillness are not just empty gaps but opportunities for reflection and growth in the quest for a life filled with meaning.
The notion of idleness is often frowned upon in our work-centric culture. Yet, the Dutch concept of niksen is redefining idleness, presenting it not as a lack of productivity but as a vital component of our well-being. Originating from the Netherlands, niksen embodies the practice of doing nothing with no purpose than simply being, allowing one’s mind to wander without the constraints of productivity or a specific goal.
I
n our constant pursuit of productivity and the relentless hustle of modern life, we often forget the art of doing absolutely nothing—a practice that, despite its simplicity, remains a challenge for many.
Reclaiming the value of doing nothing is not a new idea. Historical and cultural references, such as the Italian “la dolce far niente”, celebrate the beauty and importance of leisure and idleness. However, in the age of constant connectivity and societal pressures to be perpetually productive, finding time to embrace niksen has become increasingly rare.
And so entered the concept of “niksen,” a Dutch term that translates to the joy of idleness, and exploring how embracing moments of nothingness can lead to a more balanced, creative, and fulfilled life.
Practising niksen involves allowing oneself to be idle, free from the pursuit of productivity or purpose. It could be as simple as gazing out the window while drinking your morning coffee or people-watching at a restaurant. These moments of unguarded leisure are not only a respite for the mind but also a catalyst for creativity, improved focus, and reduced stress. Research has shown that rest and relaxation, similar to the practice of niksen, can rejuvenate the brain, enhance decision-making, and foster creative thinking.

This move solidifies African music internationally and shows how far the Afrobeat genre has come. New talents are discovered by personnel in this role, and they help them hone their skills, including assisting them to understand what genre they need to major in. A&R representatives need a sharp ear and a deep understanding of the industry.
MUSIC PRODUCERS What makes good music for people? One of the fundamental things is the beat of that song, and music producers are the heart of music productions. Producers play an important role in shaping the final sound of a song. They collaborate with artists, direct recording sessions, and contribute to the organisation and general production of a track. To succeed in this role, music producers must possess important qualities such as technical proficiency, a keen ear for music, and creative vision.

Gifts have been bought, and you’re looking for that perfect film to either kick off a romantic evening or be a nightcap to a fun night. A Netflix and Chill movie, if you will. I’ve got you covered here. No need to endlessly scroll through Netflix looking for something. Here are seven films that will captivate you both and set the right kind of mood.
• La La Land:
If by some chance you haven’t seen the six-time Oscar-winning film, La La Land, stop what you’re doing right now, and watch it! The movie follows Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) as they fall in love and pursue a relationship amidst the cutthroat background of Hollywood and dreams of stardom.

Directed by Gurinder Chadha, Bride and Prejudice follows sisters in Amritsar, India, trying to forge their trails while also dealing with social conventions.
• Sleepless in Seattle (1993) Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks as Annie and Sam keep hopeless romantics restless throughout this classic thanks to their “will they, won’t they” dance. Spoiler alert: One of our favourite scenes is when Sam’s son calls the radio station where Annie works to help find his widowed father a partner. Plus, we’re obsessed with the sweet ending.

THE BEEKEEPER It looks like Jason Statham has found his John Wick. The tough guy actor, whose facial hair, bald head, and general demeanour vary almost imperceptibly from movie to movie, plays an unstoppable killing machine in The Beekeeper. That’s par for the course. It’s the world that screenwriter Kurt Wimmer and director David Ayer build around him that makes The Beekeeper buzz and is likely to bring back Statham for more. Statham is Adam Clay, a low-key beekeeper not bothering anyone, living out his days tending to his hive in a farmhouse he rented out from a kind retiree, Eloise (Phylicia Rashad). When she is the victim of a phishing scam at the hands of a cartoonishly oily crew of criminals — we’ll get to them in a minute — Adam goes on the warpath, and The Beekeeper is set in motion. (Remember, Wick was a quiet guy who didn’t want any trouble from anyone until bad guys killed his dog.) The scammers are led by a scene-stealing David Witts, who plays Mickey Garnett, the slimy leader of a group of online thieves, who is like a tech bro version of The Wolf of Wall Street’s Jordan
Belfort. The moment Witts is on screen, in an office that looks like a comic book version of a hacker warehouse, the tone is set: This is silly, broadstroke stuff, not grounded in any way and not meant to be taken the least bit seriously, which allows it to spread its wings and fly. Turns out Mickey answers to Derek Danforth, played by a smarmy Josh Hutcherson, who honestly can’t keep up with Witts’ hammy obnoxiousness. (The two roles should have been swapped.) Derek, who has ties all the way to the top, doesn’t understand the danger he’s in now that there’s a beekeeper after him. A beekeeper? Seriously? But Wallace Westwyld (Jeremy Irons), who has been sworn to protect Derek even though he can barely stomach him, knows this beekeeper is not just
a beekeeper but part of a triple secret task force of elite, off-thebooks professionals who work outside the system in order to keep the system safe. And if a beekeeper says he’s going to kill you, it’s best to start wrapping up any loose ends you may have dangling. Like Wick, we have layers of mythology, high levels of violence, and a script that feels like it’s been adopted from a graphic novel but hasn’t. The pieces are set in motion so that Statham can do his thing and take no prisoners against an escalating series of dudes in his way, including Taylor James, who plays a big-toothed assassin and looks like something out of a Street Fighter game. The Beekeeper is slick, dumb fun: Not as stylish or tightly executed as John Wick, but it takes its time with characters — including a pair of FBI agents (Emmy Raver-Lampman and Bobby Naderi) — and sets itself up for a franchisable future. There’s plenty of honey here to go around.
