While Heart of Gold needed to be distinct in the marketplace, it was still necessary to be easily recognizable. There was an apparent need to create a refreshed logo that would be clear and easy to understand. It didn’t need to be bogged down with too many elements that would detract from Heart of Gold’s main objectives. The idea was to create a design with a simplistic hint of a heart and typography that could translate well in all types of medium. The secondary logo is to be used in cases in which the primary logo doesn’t fit well due to its vertical nature.
