The AACC received a grant from The Celebration Foundation along with contributions from local art supporters and has been able to offer free art lessons to Bandon middle school students. Along with painting, sculpture, improv and comedy lessons, students are enjoying Native American Studies and community gardening. “Mom and the Girls” is a threegenerational show of diverse art in the library’s gallery. “It seems someone in the family is always painting, drawing, creating, singing or playing an instrument. So it seems only fitting that “Mom and the Girls” gather and share their various creations and interpretations of art imitating life. Our show consists of three generations and many different medias and styles,” said Dawn Vonderlin. The show features the art of Vonderlin, her mother Elaine Owens, her sisters Deborah Whitworth and Dana Williams and Natasha Stulz, Dana’s daughter. Their mediums include acrylic paintings and potter, stained glass and mosaic art, watercolor, poetry, photography, drawings and fairy house creations. Both exhibits will be up through May and available for viewing during regular library hours.
