AUDIENCE MEMBERS are the detectives in “Eat Drink and Be Murdered,” a dinner theater presentation at Billy Smoothboar’s Steak and Seafood House, U.S. Highway 101 and Seabird Drive, just south of Bandon. The show will be presented Wednesday, June 27, and is directed by Dan Barnett, owner of Billy’s. Barnett said the show is a “very funny” one-act play about two Irish families feuding over a secret whiskey recipe.

Bandon, Oregon As the audience celebrates Rose’s 80th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the Wild Irish Rose Distillery, fighting ensues and a life is taken. The audience participates in the fun and fighting within the two families and during dessert, they all vote on who committed the dastardly deed and why. The chosen winners receive prizes. The cast includes Kathie Leece as Grandma Rose O’Riley; Dan Barnett as Conner McFadden; Cynthia Cook as Kathleen McFadden; Don Van Dyke as Father Mikey O’Riley; Gareth Williams as Seamus O’Riley; Kathy Coombe as Hannah O’Riley; Cindy Trapani as Nurse Kelly; and Danita Benshoof as Janet From Another Planet. Doors open for cocktails at 6 p.m, dinner is at 6:45 p.m., the show 7:30 p.m. and dessert and prizes following the show between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Cost of the meal and play is $42 by reservation only and includes a choice of a 12-ounce prime rib, chicken breast or prawns entree, all inclusive with bread, soup or salad, dessert and beverage.
