DUE TO the overwhelmingly positive response to last year’s Oregon Coast Music Festival shuttle bus, Bandon residents will again be able to ride a shuttle free of charge to two of the highly acclaimed Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra concerts at the Marshfield auditorium in Coos Bay. Cardas Audio and Bain Insurance of Bandon have provided funding to rent shuttle buses for the today, July 24, and the Thursday, July 26, concerts. The buses board at the Bandon Shopping Center parking lot at 6:15 p.m. on each night and leave at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. concerts. The shuttles leave Marshfield at 9:45 p.m. to head back to Bandon. Today, July 24, the Festival Orchestra will play Aaron Copland’s “Ballet for Martha” from Appalachian Spring; Symphony No. 1 in B flat by

The theme this year is “Comedy Tonight.” Also on Thursday, beginning at 5:30 p.m., Dennis Thomason (wine buyer and store manager of Tiffany’s Drugs) will provide one of his popular wine-tastings for concert-goers an hour before the shuttle is scheduled to depart. Concert tickets are $20 general admission and $18 for OCMA members, with a $10 special student ticket price for those 18 years and younger with ID.
