Group X-travaganza to benefit Washed Ashore - Ocean Awareness Through Art on Saturday, Aug. 25. Celebrate the new school year with a sample of Zumba, Dance Fitness, Cardio Kick, PiYo and Functional Circuit classes. “If you’ve never tried our classes, now’s the time to see what we’re about,” said Masterpiece Fitness owner Andrea Bowden. “Our ‘seasoned’ members will make you feel welcome and confident.” Participants can purchase raffle tickets to benefit Washed Ashore and win a month’s membership at

BANDON VFW will hold a fish and shrimp fry from 2 p.m. until gone on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the VFW Hall, 55342 Bates Road. Eight-ounce fish or shrimp baskets with fries and cole slaw are being offered for $7 each. Proceeds will benefit scholarships, community projects and building repairs. Bandon, Oregon Masterpiece Fitness Group X, a variety of artwork, clothing and private tours from Washed Ashore, as well as Common Ground Farms blueberry treats. Although the class is being offered free of charge, Masterpiece Fitness Training is asking for $5 donation to benefit Washed Ashore. Washed Ashore is an educational nonprofit organization that aims to raise awareness of the global issue of marine debris through its community art projects and the arts.
