CRANBERRY DISHES are being sought for the annual Queen of the Kitchen competition for this year’s Bandon Cranberry Festival, which will take place Sept. 7, 8 and 9. Those interested can bring their entries to the Bandon Harbortown Events Center in Old Town Bandon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. For contest rules, visit www.bandon.com or view them at the Harbortown Events Center upon entry. All entries must have cranberries as an ingredient. Judging will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. After the judging is complete, entrants and others can view all of the entries. Winning entries will receive ribbons. The overall winner will receive the Ocean Spray Queen or King of the Kitchen award. The winner must be available to attend the Cranberry Queen Coronation Friday at 7 p.m. at the Sprague Theater, where they will be introduced and also need to be available to ride in the Cranberry Festival Parade Saturday morning. Chairman of the event is Dan Barnett, owner of Billy Smoothboar’s.
