MARLO DANCE Studio will hold two open house events from 1:30-5 p.m. on both Sunday, Sept. 2, and Sunday, Sept. 9. The open house events will be an opportunity for new and returning students to meet with instructors, view the facility, register for classes and be fitted for dancewear. AUDITIONS FOR all kinds of talent for the fifth annual Bandon Feeds the Hungry Variety Show will start at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and again at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Ocean Crest Elementary School gymnasium, 11th Street side of school. The show will be staged at the Sprague Community Theater, Bandon, Saturday, Oct. 6. For details call Lyn Silverman, 541-3471585. CRANBERRY DISHES are being sought for the annual Queen or King of the Kitchen competition for this year’s Bandon Cranberry Festival. Those interested can bring their entries to the Bandon Harbortown Events Center in Old Town Bandon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. All entries must have cranberries as an ingredient. The food categories include breads and muffins; desserts; condiments; entrees; cordials; appetizer; and jams, jellies and preserves. Judging will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. After the judging is complete, entrants and others can view all of the entries throughout the festival weekend. In addition, cranberry salsa samples will be offered by members of the Cranberry Court at the

Bandon, Oregon Cranberry Food Fair. Winning entries in each category will receive ribbons. The overall winner will receive the Ocean Spray Queen or King of the Kitchen award. The winner must be available to attend the Cranberry Queen Coronation Friday at 7 p.m. at the Sprague Theater, where they will be introduced and also be available to ride in the Cranberry Festival Parade on Saturday morning.
