Bandon Crossings is considered a daily fee golf course that offers rounds to the general public with twilight, local discounts and online specials. In addition to its daily fee offerings, Bandon Crossings has a number of annual pass holders who can play unlimited golf during the year for a flat fee, payable in a lump sum or by monthly payments. “This flexibility has led to a strong local following and return visits from out of town golfers,” Smith said. The Smiths were behind the creation of Bandon Crossings. THE 2012 Langlois Library Friends month-long silent auction is well under way at the Langlois Public Library, 48234 Highway 101 in Langlois. Bidding began on Aug. 13 and closes at 7 p.m. Sept. 15. There are more than 120 items, from gift certificates to a bed and breakfast in Jacksonville, Portland Children’s Museum, High Desert Museum and the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport and to local merchants. There also is an iPod Shuffle, ceramic pigs, fishing rods, quilts, local blueberries and many other items. Following the close of the auction, a live dessert auction will take place beginning at 7 p.m. Ginney Etherton and Christo Schwartz will be on hand to auction the desserts and provide entertainment. Wine, cheese and nuts will be served, so over 21 only. All proceeds benefit the library.
